I just picked one of these up today for my girlfriend's birthday, and honestly, I personally like this design. I don't think it's the best design Nintendo could've done for a Mario Switch, but I am more than content with it.
@@aepsira9220 Surprisingly green isn't my favorite color but it does make a more unique color for a game system. Like the Nintendo 2DS Zelda version that I have. It feels unique.
i like how they did it, when i was buying one i was like “i wish they did it in red”, then this popped up... it’s more subtle than a garish red and blue combo on the console itself

I am loving mine, this is the best looking limited edition Nintendo Switch they made, mainly cause its pretty much the original but in red, no fancy design and no out of place art. On top of all that, red is my favorite color so this was an amazing buy!
Yeah, I agree! I have an Xbox One but when I saw this I just had to pick it up. It's also pretty cool that it comes with all the little extras, those things aren't that cheap if I can be honest! But I'm just going to collect this bad boy, it's a very nice console!
I like this special edition because it doesn’t scream a franchise, like if you just have the console alone by itself ,you wouldn’t really think Mario unless you know it’s Mario some people may even think it’s just a skin. So I really like this one

Whyyyy did they not make the Joycons blue to look like Mario's overalls when playing handheld. The Joycon grip should be red for the same reason. And yellow joysticks for the buttons. Such a missed opportunity!

I often go for digital because I get so worried that my physical games will either break or I'll lose them but then I usually miss out on any promo items with physical copies (I should start researching that kind of thing beforehand 😂). To be honest, it would been cool if the buttons on the joy-cons were blue, and the plus & minus buttons were yellow. This was a really cool idea, but I agree with you that there is too much red on this special edition.
I went to target and I got excited I saw this glass case with just one in there. I asked the guy for the red switch and he went to a different display. I was like no it’s this one over here! I was kind of panicking LOL. Then I realized he had gone to a different display that had a whole bunch of them hahah
It's a shame that Nintendo didn't put any effort in adding Mario themed engravings onto this Switch edition. On the contrary, I like the minimalistic colours that represent Mario. The Switch being entirely red looks pretty awesome and eye catching. I recently bought it off of Amazon and waiting for it to arrive. Can't wait to add it to my Switch consoles collection!
I ordered this from Target practically the moment it became available. Love the fact that we FINALLY have a Switch that's not just black. One initial gripe I have, it's called the Mario Red and Blue edition, but there's a lot more red than blue. They really should have made the Dock blue, so it'd be like Mario's overalls when you dock the Switch. And also from what I can see it looks like the grip isn't a charging one which is just lazy and cheap on Nintendo's part. I'm really happy to get this edition, going to love it I know, but it does irk me that Nintendo couldn't have done just a tiny bit better.

But when I held mine up to the even old red switch box, you can see it’s the exact Nintendo red color they’ve been using for marketing all along.

It’s pretty decent, but more effort could’ve been put into it. The only blue item is the grip, and nobody uses the grip. You basically just get an entirely red Switch. I don’t hate it though. If you like red, then you’ll love this.

So, I took mine apart, placed the black back on it, (from my other switch) swapped the black power and volume buttons into it and bam, bad ass looking system with black/red contrast.
Logo on the dock should of been white. The dock itself should of been blue like the controller pad. Symbolising marios pants. The controllers could maybe be white with the black button contrast.

I want a Dark Navy Blue/Indigo Switch. They've done Neon Blue and regular Blue, but the neons look tacky and the blue only has the left joycon.
There are right-hand side non neon blue Joycpns released in Japan with older model units, good luck finding any for sale but they do exist out there
