    It's very refreshing to watch someone playing this that isn't constantly whining about how scared they are of the ocean and/or the dark and/or everything in general. You've got at least one sub for that alone. Keep up the good work.
    Edit: Haha you even mention it around 1:21. I've never understood fear of water. I've been a master diver IRL for over 30 years and there's nothing scary in the ocean except other people. Well, maybe barracuda. Those little buggers can be worrisome. I was diving with a young woman that lost a finger to one once. Never wear jewelry while SCUBA diving.

    You won me over when you dived in for the first time and did NOT fill your inventory with acid mushrooms like every other noob.

      You don't have chlorinated water? Water from a well is admittedly better but chlorinated is pretty much universal if you have water supplied by a public utility.

      Haha, that’s very kind! I wish I was an engineer. My brain doesn’t really bend that way for the most part. But I find engineering to be super interesting. I thought about trying my hand at either robotics or mechanical engineering at certain points though. But then I read the science and math requirements and ‘noped’ right out of there haha. I actually have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Film Production. ☺️

    I'm jealous of you playing this incredible game for the first time.. might start banging my head in an attempt to induce some mild amnesia and be able to experience playing this for the first time all over again...

    • @PickeroftheNits
      @PickeroftheNits  Місяць тому +1

      I am sorry you cannot experience the game again for the first time, that would be an awesome ability/superpower, haha! Have you played Subnautica: Below Zero yet? I am excited to get to that one too at some point! :D

      @@PickeroftheNits I played both and BZ its not that good.Below Zero was supposed to be a DLC of Subnautica but ,it became a new game.Problems with crew members(sound designer,some art concept artists that left Unknown Worlds, the writer of the first BZ story left the company too) ,time to hire new people and a few minor issues,left BZ without the same "magic" that this one has.
      Below Zero is not a bad game,it's different....You should give it a try.
      Gameplay it's the same as the first.Just follow the story and enjoy the " short" ride.
      P.S - We will get Subnautica 2 in 2025(early acess ,maybe,this year).

      @@JoaoSantos-lh2xg that’s really unfortunate about Unknown Worlds losing some key players. I will try BZ and see how I like it, but thanks for the heads up about it. You might have saved me from a grave disappointment haha

    • @jabbott6748
      @jabbott6748 Місяць тому

      I fully agree about BZ. It was disappointing. Still worth playing imo but not nearly as good as this one. But did she say this was her first time playing? I don't remember her saying that and after watching the whole video she's either a super genius or this isn't a first time playthrough. Not that there's anything wrong with a replay unless they're trying to say it's a first play. But I'm pretty sure she never said it was a first time.
      Edit: I guess it could be a first time playthrough but she's watched at least one other person play. It's clearly not blind. Unless she is truly a super genius. If she is props to her. I'm enjoying it either way.

    TIP: When you scan things, read the databank entry from the scan as it will tell you if it has practical applications. The Blueprint tab in the PDA will tell you how to make items and the required mats. NOTE: You can swim faster if you don't have a tool in your hand and you can swim faster on the surface, unless you're using a Sea Glide.

    I have a sneaking suspicion this isn't a completely blind play-through. I suspect you've either played before or watched someone play it before. Either that, or you're a hella intuitive gamer. No worries, enjoying your play-through so far, you're fairly entertaining and I love the way you pick up on some of the cheeky humor!
    Tips (non-spoiler):
    - You have salt, check out your other option on how to make water.
    - Different fish fill your food gauge with lesser and greater amounts. Try cooking each fish and see which is best!
    - You said, "Compass, I don't need that". Think again. Re-read Lifepod 6's survivor info in your Databank, (that's the one that didn't show up). A compass will come in very handy as some locations, both for lifepods and story-beats, only come to you in PDA info, saying things are like a 1000m South West from such & such, etc. So pay close attention to the PDA entries you pick up. (Took me forever to learn that!)

    • @PickeroftheNits
      @PickeroftheNits  19 днів тому +1

      You are correct! This is not a completely blind playthrough. I saw a playthrough many moons ago and while I don’t remember a lot of the major story beats, I remember how the game made me feel and I really wanted to play for myself.
      Thank you very kindly for the tips, especially making them non-spoiler. Very much appreciated! 😁

    55:22 You were correct. if that planet/moon is as big, and close, as it seems the ocean tides should be crazy high. The apparent speed of the planet/moon means that those crazy high tides should be racing across the ocean like you wouldn't believe. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if the tidal bulge of the ocean could keep up with the speed that planet/moon is moving, but it would sure try.

    • @PickeroftheNits
      @PickeroftheNits  Місяць тому

      Thank you for saying so! I don't know much about that kind of science, but I knew enough to be like "huh, that's weird" haha!

    • @garryuyahoo
      @garryuyahoo 16 днів тому +1

      Mid ocean, even our moon only produces a tidal change of about 1m. It's greater in some coastal areas due to the geography of the sea bed and the shape of the coastline. Without large continents to constrain the tides, the water levels on planet 4546B may not change noticeably. This doesn't take into account that there are 2 moons, how their gravitational forces interact with the tides, or how dense those moons are. If that closer moon is not very dense, it wouldn't have as much of a gravitational effect.

    why does it feel like you played the game already ??? you spawn, get a standard o2 tank, build the scanner and identify the material necessary for the rubber in less than 10 minutes? almost all content creators take hours for those things... don't get me wrong, there's not a sliver of hate in this comment, I'm just perplexed by this...
