The real facts about Acko . The actual facts are these/ 1. Whenever a claim is raised they call you and try to put you through reimbursement claims which is a scam . The claim should be cashless and only the difference amount has to be the insured liability. 2. Reaching out to claim department is impossible . Only contact is the customer care who have limited exposure to the claims process. 3 . Every time we call customer service we are put on a scheduled callback from the claims department. This call back actual happens but it lasts only for 11 seconds . No body from the other side says anything and it is cut . We receive a message shortly after stating we tried reaching you but you were not available . 4. Because you cannot reach out to claims department it’s never clear what to do . 5. As per the policy the car is supposed to be picked up from the residence and delivered back which they definitely don’t do .
Here’s what I do. At time of renewal, I invite quotes from dealers of my car company, and feed the data to excel. Then apply online and enter the same particulars as described in my previous insurance (except different IDV) and arrive at a fair price deal.
I always prefer to pay 1-2k more to dealer for insurance for my Ecosport. It's like money paid for peace of mind. Once my car's bumper got damaged and I jut left the car at Dealer, they took my signature on some papers within 10 min and that's it. Na kisiko call karna pada, na kisi surveyor se milna pada. Seamlessly got my vehicle within 3 days. And mind you this happened after exit of Ford. And Insurer is bajaj Allianz.
You can also take insurance online from the same company with which your dealer has tie up. It will save you 1k to 2k but information should be given correct especially no claim bonus.

I think, one should never buy from Dealer. They always put lower IDV and may not add all addon, this is always bad. Always choice for higher IDV value yourself. There is a misinformation that there is a fixed deduction in IDV per year, it is not so. You should demand higher IDV value for insurance so if your car get stolen or get totaled, you will get higher value. You can also take return to invoice if that is available and take lower IDV. Of course, the premium will increase but you have peace of mind for few thousand rupees more toward higher IDV or add on such as return to invoice (that is, on road price at time of purchase including insurance and RTO).

I am purchasing brezza lxi car from rajasthan with BH number dealer is saying first time i need to pay around 20-25k whereas your site says as around 9k so please check it and update it because now bcoz of this i have to take RJ number itself as BH will be expensive and i am saying this after extensive research by multiple dealers from multiple companies in jaipur i guess here they are calculating base on ex showroom npt on base cost plus they are charging 12.5% cess and green tax plus some surcharge which i thought will not be there as its BH so one tax one nation. Mean while a complaint to grievance redreesal officer (gro) of present insurance company must be lodged depicting whole issue. Wait for their reply. Then, lodge a complaint to irdai through phone or mail and wait for the company's response. Upon no positive outcome go for insurance ombudsman.

I have recently booked a car and when I was checking the insurance premium that dealer is offering is way more higher than the quotation of the same insurance Co for the same car. Now, I told the dealer sales person I will approach to the insurance company directly. the sales persons replied that you can take it from anywhere but it should be your own responsibility, if something happens to your car then it will not be taken as priority you have to pay the parking charges etc. Means they will delay without any reason and I will be harassed intentionally due to delay and other payments that insurance company is not liable to pay Please suggest what should be done in this scenario.

My HDFC ergo insurance with addon (Zero dep+invoice price+Engine protect) in previous was 12600Rs. But....during renewal in next year, with same add-ons is 20,000 Rs....Even I didn't took any claim. Can anyone justify the price hike?
