Had to stop and comment for the homework folder! I love the idea of number codes for the behavior calendar and especially love the "homework helper" that can be reviewed at home daily + monthly decodable words! Going to use this!
White board hack: 50% alcohol(pour it into a spray bottle), microfiber/cotton cloth to wipe. If this doesn't work on tough spots, apply a layer of hand sanitizer. Let it rest for 1 minute, then wipe off. Always keep a spray bottle of 50% alcohol to keep your boards looking new. It's for me for the past 4 years!
I understand the objectives "SWBAT______in order to _______." I had to do the same thing in my old school back in the millennium. My current school we use I can statements. One has to be academic, and one is behavioral that goes with our school-wide behavior plan, kind of SEL.(The man my school was named after was a big proponent of human rights and social justice, so we include that, too.) The instructional coaches even do that when they present our weekly PDs.
You can make a “mobile” sound wall. Use clear pocket shoe holders to put the words in and do it in alphabetical order. Use rings for each stack of words/sounds.
Love your classroom i can’t wait to do mine I’m going to be a elementary English teacher I’m so excited I’m going back to college and this year and next year and learning how to drive get my dream car 😄❤️
After all this letter cutting I just did, I will be ordering next time lol. I decided to do black with pops of color this year, so I like a lot of your stuff.

It sounds like you use Whole Brain Teaching with your rules. The kids use gestures which creates muscle memory and a mind-body connection. I do that, too.
Hello, I LOVE your classroom setup. It is aesthetically pleasing and fits my style so I was immediately drawn in at the intro. It took me forever to get to the end because I was taking notes and looking at the links as well 😅. I really love your easel ; please share where you purchased it please.
At the 6:17 mark where you said you don’t know what the dark areas of the dry erase board is, I believe the previous teacher probably glued something onto the board or used cheap dry erase markers and couldn’t get it out. I would try some rubbing alcohol and a rag or use alcohol wipes and rub it onto the areas that are dark. Using rubbing alcohol on dry erase board works.
Good evening. This is my sixth year teaching, and this is my first year teaching 1st grade. I am highly interested in where the homework helper pages came from. I would love to add them to my students' daily communication folders for the year.

@@TACSmom good question!! I have a behavior system where they start the week off with 4 behavior sticks if they lose all their sticks by Friday they do not get to participate in our fun Friday activities. So if they are acting like a David, they have to go pull a stick.😁
Did you make your parent contact form or get ot from somewhere? I love it. Also where did you get thr student cubby shelves from and what do you usually store in there?
I got the parent contact form from Teachers Pay Teachers! The cubbies were already at the school I just asked them could I have them lol. The kids store their lunchboxes, snacks, and any other small personal items they have.
@@therichauntie_ I looked at the description for the parent contact and didn't see it. Is it part of a bundle that wouldn't be named parent contact? Wish my school came with those cubbies! They look helpful.
