Due to a health scare in 2017, we decided to start enjoying life more outside our business. We bought a Lodge on the east coast of England and started vlogging our daily adventures

Nick, I did this for my sister. She had an operation which did something to her brain which made her not want to eat. She was a walking skeleton. I got her some protein powder that was very high protein. I don't know you if you have this in the UK, but Muscle Milk is 50 grams of protein. I put it in the blender with ice and milk. The ice makes it the consistency of a milkshake. You can use whole or skim if she can't handle whole. I got some Hershey liquid chocolate syrup in a bottle that you put on ice cream and squirted that in there just to improve the taste a little. You can use caramel or strawberry or any other flavor. That helped her to gain weight. It was also important to get her food that she doesn't normally eat meaning that someone else has cooked it. The variety helped her taste buds. She liked rotisserie chicken from one of the markets in town - you know, things like that. Having said that, my brother had pancreatic cancer. He couldn't really keep anything down. It doesn't sound like your mom is doing that though. Years ago, I had to gain weight because I was too skinny. I'd like to have that problem today. But, I ate pie to gain weight. There's another suggestion for you. Take care.
Oh Nick, I am so very sorry to hear about your mum. Sending lots of love and prayers to you all. I haven't watched you guys for a while and thought I'd save Vlogmas for Christmas Eve. On my own again this year and your videos especially your Vlogmas always make me so happy and cheer me up. I just want to jump into the screen with you and get all cozy in your lovely lodge to watch Christmas film, eat food and drink hot chocolate. Missed you guys so much. Your vlogs are just so real and just make me so incredibly happy. I can't thank you guys enough and wish your mum all the best. Absolutely love you guys. Discovered you a few years ago now. A happy accident shall we say post daughter living at home so it's really helped with that. I owe you guys so much. You just don't realise what a joy you guys bring to us. I hope you do. Forever grateful xxx

Another lovely tree ❤ , just wanted to say I know life been tough of late and that you have both been supporting family through it but I lost my mum 13 weeks ago and just wanted you to know that it's ok to take time for yourselves, it really important that you have time to process as a couple what your feeling. Glad to hear your mums pain is under control, if shes anything like nick her tenacity will get her thru this and fighting fit in no time xx

Maxines idea is to wrap the tree in clingfilm after Christmas and store it fully decorated if you have storage room
Its a great idea. We told our friends Jacqui and Richard to do the same in Spain, they said it worked perfectly. Would make for a great vlog after Christmas to see you wrap your tree in clingfilm.
My home town Shrewsbury, I was in a Christmas Carol, I was one of the children skidding outside the big building, they used plastic sheets and washing up liquid.

I am only just getting round to watching your vlogmas and most recent vlogs (26th Jan!), life has just been very busy and I haven't been watching much youtube unfortunately. This is the first year we had an artificial tree. The one up, two to the side is something that I didn't know about fluffing. Oh well, I will do that next year. Happy Holidays! I love seeing the rings ❤

Your time spent on your tree is totally worth it, it looks amazing. Nick, now your Mom's pain is under control, hopefully she will start to feel more like eating a little. You are doing the right thing in trying to get her to eat high calorie food, a little and often will do the trick.

Hi guys, so lovely to see you back for Vlogmas. The tree Loki’s fabulous as doe lodge. A tip for Nick… I have an air fryer same size as yours and I use a round silicone baking tray inside the air fryer. (from B&M) I wipe grimy stuff out of it with kitchen paper and wash that and it will save you using loads of foil. Thank you for doing Vlogmas, which I always enjoy.

Watching you put your tree up we put our tree up yesterday not as many lights as you but we worked together and it took us about 2 hours your tree looks amazing.
It was while I was watching this video that I noticed that part of a strand of lights on my tree has gone out.🙁 I’ll see if I can replace a bulb to get the rest of it working or if I have to go buy a new strand and somehow take off a strand underneath all the ornaments that are on top of it. Your tree looks great, of course!
Where did u get your wooden candle holder, i love it. Vacuum packed bags good for xmas kit stops getting damp.
Honestly cannot stand putting the tree up and lights on it’s a total pain, causes rows in our house 😂, impressed with both of you two, not a word out of place, the lodge looks smashing lovely and Christmassy xx

Too much hassle with Christmas light, we bought a big tree with lights already on
We have frozen colours baubles so a few yrs ago we did a frozen theme blue & silver
I remember the losing weight bit, it took almost 7 months for my taste buds to come back, my husband got me to eat alsorts as I couldn't tell! For me personally all I ate for ages was ice lollies, ended up a vegetarian for a while as I couldn't face meat, I used to have a plate of veg, I also found eating little and often work the best for me, just having small bowls of food as when I saw a plate of food it just put me off straight away. My sweet tooth was also the first thing to come back and didn't it just! I hope your Mum is doing well, feel free to ask questions anytime xx
You could put a small Santa hat over mickeys broken ear on the blue ornament. That could mask the missing ear part.
Can you come and ‘fluff’ our tree every year as that’s 1 job I hate !!!! Jamie says after seeing your tree we need a new one 😂😂

We are being totally miserable this year absolutely no decorations going up, we will just have to make do with magic kingdom on Christmas Day and Epcot on New Year’s Eve.

Nick go to the local chemist they have a food supplement which is flavoured like milkshakes I actually got my mother to drink that xx merry Christmas 🎄

The dietitian told us that McDs milk shakes are best for getting calories into somebody who really needs them. Wouldn't recommend for "normal" diet though. Good luck. 🤞🙏

You can get some special drinks from the doctor for her there call Ensure drinks they help when people have lost weight if you ask the doctor he may be able to prescribe her some help build her up.
