It was mentioned in the video that Keith's art is the most EverQuest that EverQuest can be, and I agree. That art is EverQuest. The art that has come since is excellent in its own way.
Keith Parkinson is definitely my favorite fantasy artist of all time. I used to buy his calendar every year, and also bought a signed print of the Diablo 2 art he did. I wish I did the same for the Everquest artwork he did, but of course none of us knew he was going to pass away. I was also much younger and didn't have the money I have now. May he rest in peace. I'm sure it is easy for him to do so seeing his upstanding son honor his work all these years later. Thank you for another great episode Fading.
wow how did this show up... I played EQ back in 99 and started EQ2 at launch... last fan fair I attended was in Atlanta, I actually have a Elmore from that and met him there. After SOE died I figured EQ all of it was gone. Nice to know it's still out there even though I probably wouldn't recognize it anymore.
It's hard to believe they create such beautiful zones in just a year. The character designs for the last expansions and now these upcoming releases are gorgeous. The dragons are just wow. As far as my favorite artists, I'd have to say Keith has a special place in my heart. He was there when I started playing and my memories are tied up in his storytelling. Kerem Beyit is a stunningly skilled artist, and I'm thrilled he's taken over for both games. That cover for Scars of Destruction radiates menace. The cold countenance of Lucan is everything you want in a villain. I just love the Art Nouveau quality of all Kerem's creations.
RIP Bladar! /mourn Some absolutely amazing art work! And it is not just for visual appeal... I really enjoy the way the artwork also tells a story... it really reflects that Norrath is a real world, with its own history and events! To me it really says something when people think about how events, people and creatures impact the environment and put it in! Even putting in the spheres! Truly grateful for the visual story telling! Thanks for highlighting this! And especially the art of Keith Parkinson! I used to have a lot of that art on the wall in my room!
Here we go! I hope we also get to see a little bit of Vanguard, Saga of Heroes. Both EQ franchise and Vanguard deserve the spotlight, because both titles share the same DNA. Looking forward to this episode!
This might be my favorite episode yet. Keith's art is such an enormous part of the game. I also loved seeing how zones are made. Kudos to Daybreak for sharing the raw media from behind the scenes. Thanks for making this for us!
A real banger of an episode. You have a great deal of craft in what you do, and thank you for putting these out there. Other than the people, nothing will evoke the time I spent with EQ as much as the art and the music, so these episodes have been a real time capsule for me. As an inveterate halfling player, I can't not come back and watch after being teased with the Rivervale theme! And of course I have to say Parkinson.
The original - it opened up my mind even more the game itself since like there was no real way to find gameplay and stuff back then unless you get lucky on a magazine
Parkinson did the best key art for EQ in my opinion. It was what drew me into the game originally. I will say though that Kerem Beyit does a damn good job.
I always loved the Scars of Velious box art the most, it had such an epic and overwhelming feel, like no matter what side you were on there were things big enough out there to stomp us all. All of Parkinson's pieces for the game are beauties
I heard your voice and saw you doing your normal job on my girlfriends phone and screamed “that’s fading!” And proceeded to show her the EverQuest show.

There is no question. Parkinson is by far the best EQ artist.

Thank you Fading! I have the Keith Parkinson lithographs of Classic, Kunark and velious. I love them!

Bravo for another fantastic episode! I saw you announce it in General chat on Teek! And here I thought you were playing on Tormax. 😉
The Shadows of Luclin will always be my favorite cover. It's soo magical ✨
Parkinson is one of my favorite artist, so I have to vote for him. I dream to get a signed Kunark lithograph one day!
Saw you on the weather channel. You are great in front of a camera!
That tree in blackburrow was a sick sick joke

I love the classic Wood elf tree shirt, Fading!

Loved this episode! Really can’t wait for the music episode though 🙌
Love the undershirt! Newbie wood elf!
I was going to say the same thing - I need it!

Thank you Fading!
Parkinson is the OG and the best!

Another very interesting episode! I enjoy the story behind the game. Keep up the good work for season 3, Fading!

Great stuff Fading - really enjoyed this one a lot.
It’s a tie for art for me, Parkinson and Elmore. I love all the art but theirs is so iconic to me for EQ.
Great work Fading! Thank you!

My choice is Keith Parkinson !
always awesome content thank you!
Dude- I just F'in saw you on the weather channel? What the helll???
Had the same reaction.
Hahah same!
Everyone has a day job!
I heard your voice and saw you doing your normal job on my girlfriends phone and screamed “that’s fading!” And proceeded to show her the EverQuest show.
nice shirt lol
I always liked how EQ2 zones looks, however...they really need to do something about spell effects, it's just too much colours at the same time.
Woah......Firiona Vie was based on a human model? Who is she? lol
No brainer: Parkinson:)
Parkinson. during offline hours or server-downs i looked at the box art and imagined to play the game in his artstyle.
