Once pes gets licensed kits and badges, and makes more improvements to graphics then it will be on top once again. I personally think until fifa 09 it was the best but then just lost its ways
Fifa is not overrated maybe on ps2 were after fifa 08, fifa became a childs play.
but things got better on p3 and 360 up to 13 which made pes a total crap on those consoles. But this fifa 14, i think from this video PES wins.

PES 2014 > FIFA 2014 - Pretty much fifa is a copy of what winning eleven and pro evolution was before…… Never like FIFA its very automatic game. in PES its more manual and it has better tactics than FIFA. EA got more famous cuz of their amazing online experience and thats how konami fucked up big time especially having all the right of the brands and teams as well. you have to be a football fan to understand what I'm saying especially when u used to play old football games back in the day when Winning eleven was on top.

Best PES in years.Gameplay is so smooth and free flowing, games so addictive.I know a lot of original pes fans that have fallen back in love with the game.
To be honest i only pick football games based on the actual gameplay on the pitch which is why PES is better but for everything else Fifa seems to win at, just hate the gameplay on it otherwise i'd pick that.
Career mode is amazing on there but once you get to play a game you just end up quitting, master league is blank this year but at least the gameplay is enjoyable.
I personally love both games for different reasons. I always buy FIFA on launch day because I love the career mode feature and all the licensed teams and stadiums. I end up buying PES when the price drops because for me PES is the game where I give myself a couple hours to play through rather than just a couple minutes of a game on FIFA. I'm a fan of the BAL mode and the option files along with Champions League licenses are great. It excels in realism compared to FIFA (mainly with game speed) but lacks an in depth Career Mode. FIFA is a much more user friendly game I find with pace, ratings, menus, online and so on. There is no realism with FIFA and it's gameplay.
Licenses isn't an issue in PES 14 there's such a thing called PESedit.
What's bugg me about that game is the game play....
The movment is terrible the players ball control is worset then myn....

Agreed, FIFA is a quick and user friendly while PES is a sophisticated, more realistic football game. I'll choose PES obviously because the gameplay is the most important thing in sport games and I don't mind making my own faces and teams - been doing it since ISS PRO 98 on psx :P It can be a charm!

I have PES14 this year and its awesome. Last year I had fifa13, 11 was fifa, and all years before that PES. Happy that PES gameplay and Master league feels rewarding like the earlier days when PES was the only option. FIFA gameplay feels the same as always, it isnt bad, just not as good a simulation for a soccer player in imo.

You forgot to say that PES 2014 is missing the six classical teams. I was sad not seeing them there. They just replaced them with two, Euro Classics and World Classics.

FIFA14 had big improvements from FIFA13 - it plays much better, in FIFA13 one would get a fast player and just run with a glued on ball, in FIFA14 one has to work the mid-field much more. The animations have improved greatly (especially on NextGen).

Not completely redesigned, not even close, but they added subtle enhancements. More physicality, tussle for the ball. I got 13 to play very close to 14 minus the physical play and ball control.
I tweaked the game speed on 14 to play fast and ball passing and shooting speed can be adjusted as well to make it less floaty. Also took off most of the aids. Now it suits me just fine.

I don't think I could make the jump from Fifa to Pro Evolution Soccer, PES was very strange to me playing in the demo when I tried it out, didn't really feel comfortable for me but that's because I was used to playing Fifa. However I won't be buying Fifa 14 or the World Cup game coming up as I am still extremely disappointed by the lack of additions in their Game Modes especially Career Mode. I feel like Career Mode could be made so much more alive if they added more tournaments, like CONCACAF Champion's League or adding in more CONCACAF Leagues and South American Leagues. Career Mode with your Manager or Virtual Pro should have some RPG elements as well, like Press Conferences, talking about transfer requests you've received or rejected, talking about Players, teammates, Managers, how you felt about one game or another, and on top of that as a Player Career Mode - Negotiating your Contract and Pay with your Manager another big one that should've been implemented. All of these would have been killer additions for offline gameplay but once again EA ignores the offline portion of their games and instead continues to whore out FUT and other Online Modes that involve micro-transactions.
P.S. Another minor gripe that I've had in Fifa 13 in Career Mode is the News articles that come out every once in awhile or messages from Players, now hear me out, this is going to sound extremely silly but here it goes. I was Managing an MLS Club from the United States and an American Player had called me "Gaffer" in a message, on top of that usage of the word "Football" which these two slang words are obviously never used in the US, more appropriate words would have been "Coach" or "Boss" for Gaffer and replacing instances of Football with Soccer when press news or Player's National Origin when he's speaking should makes sense. Now I know the game is made to be geared towards the UK that's where EA makes most of their FIFA money but still it wouldn't hurt not to completely alienate American or other International Fans of the game?
Every year the same arguments. Just choose your game and play lol. Why fight here about which games better? I play both from time to time, and as the video states - PES for more realism and rewarding feeling and fifa with friends for casual play. Both are good games, I wish they'd hold hands and make a game together and make the ultimate football game.

I've got both now, and honestly, PES 14 is a massive improvement. Fifa 14 feels more like Fifa 13.5
Being a soccer coach, the first thing I look for is realism. PES 14 wins in that department for me. FIFA isn't bad, and I will be getting it as well since I like the online portion of it. Player ID is something Konami has been working on with the world's best players, and I thank them for it because I see Iniesta being Iniesta, Messi being Messi, Ribery being Ribery, etc. While FIFA is more of an arcade game, it is still a very fun game to play. Be happy we have 2 soccer games people.
Looking forward to next years PES. With a little fine tuning, adding more stadiums, game modes, weather effects and off course making the menus look a bit more modern and also better than it looks currently, it will be a phenomally great game :)
I was a hardcore PES player but I sold it a month into 2013. Played FIFA 13, mostly ultimate team and enjoyed it. Got FIFA 14 at Christmas and ignored PES 2014 but I just snapped my FIFA 14 disc because it's so damn frustrating to play. It's impossible to defend, especially against chipped through balls. No one online plays with any imagination and just spams them all game. It was too easy to score on PES 2013 and it felt like FIFA, not sure what it's like this year but I hope it's not like FIFA
I say Fifa is better overall but Pes is just a lot more fun to play especially offline

I buy both games each year. I buy FIFA for maybe a quick head to head game with my buddies or the seasons mode once in a while. A game to just piss around with basically. I buy PES for the BAL and the realism. I like the presentation and the game day feel for this years game.
i used to play PES, but since i really hate this failed PES 2014, i moved to FIFA and it really made me surprised.. All the club, transfer update, everything updated officially and the commentators are so real, they don't give the same and boring comments like in PES. All commentators are updated every week and i always hear new comment in the match and it's always relevant in the real life.. so awesome
fifa 13 was more towards pace. The ultimate team for that one was op for players like emenike who have high pace. Now, fifa 14 relies on actual gameplay. People who win online matches usually have high dribbling and shot power.
only 2 reasons why FIFA better than pes :
1- better graphics for sure since PS2
2- the physics more realistic in fifa , pes always like fast imaging when player running and moving not like real life
& for the truth pes more easier than fifa , anyone who plays good in fifa 14 can play easily in pes , so PES good luck and have a nice history , FIFA keep going with greatest things.

Atmosphere makes for great game, i like the atmosphere of the fans but could improve on this and make it feel more authentic. Torches, Paper towells thrown, Songs / chants
I played pes from day 1, fifa used to annoy the hell out of me as it was just a button bashing game tap tap tap no skill at all, but i can proudly say i am now a full time fifa player, pes has just stood still where as fifa as always improved and boasts everything you want in a football game, well done fifa you have a new fan
EA should do DLC for FIFA 13 than releasing FIFA 14. PES 14 is really really great game, very realistic. Physic in PES 2014 is amazing and FIFA is now one step behind.
I believe that on PC, PES is better because of the option files and mods available, which I think will include created stadiums; also the graphics on high end PC's could be amazing and it's different from the same old FIFA. When next gen FIFA comes out PC owners may be disappointed at missing out, but I think that when Konami bring out next gen, they won't make the PC version inferior like EA are doing.

I think FIFA 14 is a great football video game, but PES 14 turned to be a great football simulator.
I'm more used to PES so I'm getting that, but the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have full license to the Barclays Premire League.

Fifa 14 this year. PES menus and graphics just don't come up to par. but next year Im sure PES will blast FIFA out of the water. (I'm totally new to soccer games, so I'm not committed to one yet.) Both look good for sure, though.
I think that next gen PES will do much better than next gen FIFA did, because quite frankly FIFA 14 didnt look at all any better, other then some lighting textures and shadows.
Tbh, I wish I had gotten PES this year. The last fifa game I had was fifa 12, and I loved it. I skipped 13 and without researching went straight to 14 thinking that it couldn't be worse. I couldn't be any more wrong, this game reminds me of why I jumped ship from PES and bought fifa 12. This crap is so scripted, it reminds me of fifa 2006. No individuality whatsoever...I could be using Pazzini as a playmaker and it wouldn't make a difference. The worse thing is that the harder the difficulty, the more scripted it is. Professional is too easy, but world class and legendary are so scripted its not even worth playing anymore. At least its still fun to play with friends.

Pes 2014 is the winner for me! Gameplay is what mostly counts for me, I want realism and difficulty. I find FIFA is much easier to learn, giving it a shorter lifespan, and it doesn't feel as realistic (it's too easy to pull off fancy tricks and goals). I prefer Master League and Become a Legend over Career and Ultimate Team
I've been playing pes 2014 for 3 days on my xbox 360 with hd television (1080p) it's really amazing graphics haven't see it before in a football game and the gameplay is amazing too each game is different than the other.i noticed that when you play against Bayern Munchen looks so realistic.they have the id team this year .what pes needs is licensed teams.
I have been using Twitch for the pass four weeks and I have not seen a single PES stream. I looked at the live games and scrolled own to the games listing only one viewer, but no mention of PES. Why do PES players stay away from Twitch, are they embarrassed to been seen playing this game?

Fifa 14 looks exactly the same as Fifa 13 based off what I can tell from the gameplay.
It's always been way too easy to come top every season on FIFA's career mode. No teams have any personality, nothing unpredictable ever seems to happen that changes your tactics, strategy etc.
Licenses for PES is no problem. You can download all names and shirts from the internet
it's about what you prefer . i prefer gameplay that feels real life football and PES 2014 is way better at this but at other things like graphics , licensing etc FIFA wins . so choose what you need in your game and enjoy it
Its better to have no license teams so you can change this kit each season. The Edit option is cool.

I haven't even touched FIFA's demo this year... I dont think there is a need to, just watch gameplay vids... Its the same old arcadey FIFA... Not a bad thing, but they still stray towards online multiplayer crowds just like every other EA game does... Pro Evo is where it is at in regards to realism... The movement of the players and just the feel you get on the pitch is just amazing...

I got FIFA 13 and Pro Evo 2013, I never got any of the previous versions, I just waited until near the end of the console cycle and once when Pro Evo went to a new engine and FIFA started with next gen engine, I decided to focus on getting the previous versions when they were cheaper a few months before the new versions came out.
Therefore I get perhaps the best versions of this console generation that represent where both games got up to in this console gen
plus new engines would improve after every year, I am looking for the best of this gen so I don't have any need to get new ones
also I got FIFA 13 just to play the A League with my fav team Melbourne Victory, while I also got Pro Evolution 2013 to be able to play as Australia against Japan as well as creating and editing my own awesome stadium
So yes, I am happy to just get the 2013 versions instead of getting the newer ones with new engines and missing features.
also I really hope there is a full Brazil 2014 World Cup game, but if it is just DLC for FIFA 14 then I am just going to stick with South Africa 2010 game since I still play that while waiting for the real World Cup tournaments to come around.
I'm a bit let down by pes this year coz they focused so much on the fox engine that is good but took out the clinical passing in the game & selecting defenders when defending. The passing is killing me it feels like FIFA & I cant stand it. FIFA is not football IMO but pes have sacrificed some good points to the game in order for the fox engine which is a jar

I bought both and I enjoy playing them both FIFA 14 for its online features and I also enjoy carrer mode. On PES 2014 I love master league and the way it plays and feals more realistic

You have to play the actual games. The demos are from 3 month old builds, so the games are different.

What is this guy talking about... No mayor gameplay improvements for Fifa 14? Really? It seems like he really hasn't play Fifa 14. The gameplay has beencompletely redesigned, and made more realistic. Thought, I kind of hate that the player movements are really sluggish, to the point that it has been hard for me to adapt to this new style of gameplay.
I prefer FIFA, but the "Team Management" interface in PES is about a million times better.
Mate, Fifa has scripting and handicap so you can't even control your team half of the time. FUT is completely destroyed because of this. Atleast, PES doesn't have this where the developers of the game don't want you to win and constantly handicap your players. Talking about official kits, PES has option files so you can get real kits.

I have been purchasing FIFA games since 2010. Now I'm going to try PES this year because it looks very impressive and I feel like EA didn't make many changes to their game. Not enough for me to spend $80 on it. I really miss the Live Season mode that they had until fifa 12.
I personally like Fifa more too, for me it runs way smoother. Graphics are way better in my OPINION, i have fifa 14 and would like to try to compare the two if i could play PES. :)

Fifa is a better option , it does not mean that if teams and players are overrated its sucks sometimes u may hate fifa or say it is sucks because ur fovourite team or player might not do well(not overrated).As a neutral Fifa 14 better for graphics, online , and celebrations are realistic. SImply saying better than pes 2014.
Obviously Pes. They make major changes every year. FIFA has only made minor changes over the last 4 years, does it not get boring playing the same game over n over? It's the same as COD - they basically charge you £40 for an update. If they didn't have the label "FIFA" people probably wouldn't care...

They are only minor changes like I said. Both games are to be on next gen consoles, they haven't made many changes considering the power capabilities when played on the ps4/Xbone, they've done very little. Pes is now using a next gen engine, which is played on the PS3/360 - they've made more effort than FIFA... Why hasn't FIFA used a next gen engine? Because they're lazy! They're just reselling last year's product with minor changes. Think of how many changes Battlefield have made compared to COD
