#What do you normally do after you wake up? = When I wake up every morning, the FIRST thing that I normally do is get out of bed.SUBSEQUENTLY, I go to my bathroom as well as wash off my face. And THEN LATER I put on the toothpaste next I brush my teeth. AFTERWARD, I brush my teeth I will spit out the toothpaste.Thirdly I dash into my kitchen ,and I heat up some water in the kettle.THEN, I pour out the water and fill up my mug. AFTER THAT I whip up some breakfast and pick out my clothes to get dressed. AND THEN LATER I go to the workplace. Also, I ride my bike or car to go there. AFTER I got back from work, I will eat some good food. My favorite food is chips and pizza. And AFTER I ate, I will perform my praying. When the day gets darker and darker or sunset, I will prepare once again for my NEXT prayer.AFTER that I will play the video game and either recite the Al-Quran or revise my lessons.FINALLY, I perform my last prayer called Isyak, AND THEN LATER I am going to go to bed to hit the hay. As a result of all those things are my daily routine, and I keep doing those again and again and again every day.😊

Hi Jennifer! Thank you, excellent lesson! As I see it transition words make English speaking much more natural. I remember using some of these transition words in the matriculation exam English essay very, very many years ago! It is high time I reviewed these! Here are some examples:
    1) It was a hard day, hence I took a nap, 2) I like to take pictures, therefore I took my smartphone with me, 3) To begin I woke up, secondly, I studied, then I wound down, and lastly, I turned in 4) Studying English can be time-consuming, however, I enjoy doing it, 5) Some people like dark colors, but I like bright colors, 6) Smoking is a bad habit, moreover, it is very detrimental to your health, 7) Generally speaking English is spoken all over the world, 8) More often than not, I like to live here, 9) If you go hiking take some warm clothes with you, winter coat, for instance, 10) I love pizza, in fact, it is one of my favorite dishes, 11) To summarize, English is a very useful language, 12) To sum up, this was a lovely lesson and I learned a lot!

Do we not need to put semicolon before transitional words?

    • @JForrestEnglish

Depends on the transition word and the sentence. 😊
