Dear Cameralady, thank you for sharing your male human specimen with us. Its very good to know there are still some on this earth that can get so excited over small (and not so small) critters. Im still hoping to find such a nice specimen over here in the Netherlands. 😉

I remember being a kid and getting in the back of the car with my dad driving. Before we left, he flipped the visor down and a huge green lynx spider was there! He screamed with a high shrill! It was hilarious! hahaha

My parents had two Green Lynx Spiders living in a passion vine this year. Two big females! I loved checking in on them when I visited. When fall came they had swollen huge with eggs. The one we dubbed "little momma" made her nest first. Taking several of the large leaves and using her silk to wrap a shelter around herself and her eggs. Then she hung off the eggs until they hatched a few weeks later. (Surviving several frosts here in Texas). The little babies stayed at the nest for a couple weeks after hatching before moving on. Unfortunately, the other female, "big momma", didn't do as well. She made her egg sack too high up in an exposed stem and then didn't wrap the leaf she picked well. The eggs died and they were gone a week later along with "big momma". I checked day before yesterday when I visited. The vine has died in the winter and so is just dead brown leaves but "little momma" still perches on top of her empty nest and waits for the cold to take her.

Hey Dave and Camera Lady! Im from Tennessee and had the great fortune of having one of these beautiful spiders have an egg sac in our tomato box. I watched daily...lol! We were set for a bad frost one night so I covered the sac and daddy for protection...and low and behold, I took the cover off and we had spiderlings! It was such a joyful experience! Thanks to you, I found the joy in the experience!! One day I will have a big spider to learn even more 💜

You could do with improving your audio quality. Try lowering the gain on your mic so it hears you at a low level and then amp it in your edit (or when you export audio from your device depending on which method you're using). In general mic gain should be so low that it can only hear what you want it to hear and nothing else and then you can adjust for comfort after the fact. This way you avoid a lot of pops, clicks and the clipping you're experiencing here. You also have the advantage that you can "tune" your mic levels so that it will exclude all the background giving you free sound insulation (to a point).

Great video, Dave. Excellent content. What makes your channel a winner is how unique your channel is... what a niche! And also you... you make the show with you matter of fact straight talking with your polite, courtesous and caring style. And yes, what fanastic spiders these little guys are... shame they only live a year or so. I think you do have a least one male among them! Also, you started with seven and turns out you ended up with six... what happened to the missing one? You said they don't eat other... so, one just died and they fade away to nothing like shedding their "skins" ?

I used to catch these in Southern California. Most people never see them because of their hiding habits. They love a leafy bush. Follow their tag lines they leave behind and start looking under leaves. You have to be careful not to touch the leaves too much or they will evade and they are much harder to find. Their favorite is perched under a leaf. The male has lovely purple. The female makes the coolest egg sac. Suspended between leaves in the canopy of the aquarium I kept them, a half round sac, flat side facing up. Strangest shape I've seen a spider make. Put some silk leaves in there!

@@tl9055 The type of web to look for is as strong as a widow web. Generally a single line indicating direction of travel. Just start looking under the leaves. I found the ones I am speaking of in Moreno Valley. Being that is about the hottest part of the basin I'd suggest distribution goes all the way to the foothills.

Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️ hope you’re both doing well, and having a great Thursday.
Awk! How sweet are they!? I love the colours, like a chocolate Lime sweet 😊They are so delicate! And the way they propel themselves away from one area to another is quite comical! I bet if you were able to get the part with that one trying to evade you catching it in slow motion, it would be awesome. When your time on Earth is rather short like it is for this little spider, everything’s done in fast forward. I think you have guessed that I like these little guys 😂😂
What a great project Dave! Fingers crossed 🤞 that it all works out 😊

Please don't laugh at this, but since these beauties are so colorful and in their native environment live or perch in flowers, artificial silk flowers might just provide them some cover. It might encourage them to web in the open as opposed to hiding on the dark lid of the first container.

They remind me of orb weavers, really pretty and cool, it is just the short life span I couldn’t cope with It I get very emotional when something dies, I have dogs with quite long lives and I just got a pair of baby love birds and they live 20- 30 years!
