Today we remove the slings from our female Panama Blonde after they were allowed to hatch inside the enclosure , join us as we catch them put them into our nursery pot for their last moult into real slings .

Interesting that the hatch-lings didn't was to leave the web. When they were in their new "home", they seemed to be seeking each other out. Can they recognize themselves as from the same egg sac?
Yes I believe so ,once they are all in and left alone they will congregate into a ball and rest ❤️👍

Boy oh boy, she sure put her FANGS on display and not in the way she showed her male! Both you males had stones on display looking her directly in the face! She is one big Mama who loves her babies and takes her protective duties SERIOUSLY. Re the size differential among the "kids", do you keep any data that would show females larger at hatch? Their carapace to abdomen ratio is interesting in the different sizes. And their reluctance to leave home is because Mom told them bedtime stories about the monsters that come after babies who do not mind Mom! They believed her. I can just imagine the babies tiny voices even as I type; MAAAMAAAA. I've heard that blowing down a straw will herd babies. They do not like human breath. I wonder if temperature has effect on the sex of the hatch? Sea turtles, alligators and some snakes have sex determination via temp.
I dont think theres much info on temps to sex ratio could be an interesting but long project 👍

I have a Brachypelma emilia sling, and she certainly enjoys life, these days! She molted about 2 weeks ago, and has JUST taken up eating again, with a crazy appetite! Now, she has dug a little hideout, and just sits in it, sleeping. It's the sweetest thing! Providing your animal with the best, you can do, really shows. 🥰👍❤️
Hi Dave & sweet CL! Another wonderful video. I always learn something new, and this time it was regarding the “mouth parts” vs. fangs in regards to eating. I never knew they did not eat by sucking up their prey’s juices (eww) through the fangs. That may be fairly common knowledge, but I never knew! Interesting as always!! 👍🏼 ❤️

Yes they are very reactionary as soon as one moves they all move and stop together too ❤️👍

I love, love, LOVE the P Pulcher species and I finally just added a female juvenile to my collection about a week ago! It took her no time at all to make herself at home in the viv I built her. She's just so dang fantastic. Definitely one of my many, many, favorites.

I know that tarantulas don't have much in the way of eyesight or brains but she was being such a defensive mother that I felt bad for her. I've paused the video to right after she was caught, and I thought "If Dave separates all those babies in front of her she's gonna be sad" which is totally me anthropomorphizing the spood but still ...
The babies in the nursery cup seem to react to the addition of new siblings as if the stocking was their old web hideout. They're very still until the the next addition touches the stocking "floor", then there's a second or two of frenetic activity until they get quiet again. Love to watch your videos!
They sort of check out, who is arriving, and when they find out, its only their litter siblings, they chill again...🥰

Psalmopoeus pulcher has some of the foulest tempers in that genus, at least mine did. Even worse than the P.irminia. Walk past the enclosure? Threatposture. Touch the enclosure? Spreading fangs. Open the enclosure? Attack anything that comes near.🤣 Beautiful colors though.
