  • Ukraine have another great weapon system in their arsenal! The JDAM ER. A kit making a dumb bomb into a precision glide bomb. Will this new weapon system help Ukraine to break through Russias defensive lines?

Range on those JDAM ER is about 50 miles. Would need significant diversion to free up air space to get that close with Ukraine Mig-29.

Yes, it'll be JDAMS on 600lb, or 1,000lb bombs to hit the Crimean bridge. Won't be able to repair it this time

I dont think so. Bomber jets will be shot down before even reach half the way to the bridge. Jdam has only range comparable to the Excalibur fired with a P2000.

The US has sent additional kits, but also there were hundreds of the JDAM ER Marine Mine version sent. It is a 907 kg bomb with lots of features so 4x larger than the one you showed here. An assortment of Mk 82, Mk 83, and Mk 84; 230 kg, 454 kg, and 907 kg respectively; dumb bombs were also sent.

@@ddviper8813 The early days of the war the logistics train of the AFU was not all that large. Since then the US and NATO have given them a lot of heavy hauler trucks to complement their trains and close the last km's. Then fuel bases and systems have been set up. AND so much has been built up to support a combined arms brigades in the field like fuel tanks and fuel trucks. This time the AFU wont' hit culmination near as early as they did in the Kharkiv attack. For every 155 mm shell given gallons of diesel are given. You can't just look at the M777 firing you have to look at all the fuel, trucks, food for drivers, spare parts for trucks, all the way back to Poland then throughout the EU and US.

      YEAH!
Ukraine must be the country w/an army that have skills in more weapons and many diffrent systems from a dozen producers and a dozen countries army's own systems that they send to Ukraine for AFU to learn to use them.
Something they have shown to do very quivmckly and essay.
On most systems they managed them after a week or two wich was Something unusual says all the diff instructors ,EU countries, NATO countries ,UN member countries that send military help. Or other equipment used in civillian life.
Many of the countries that arent sending weapons, they're sending stuff like ambulanse, fire trucks, equipment & vehicles for reparasjon of the energy grid, all the food & nescessaries for delivery to ppl.
All the equipment needed in search & rescue operations, money to keep the ukrainian econony from going belky up,free gas & electricity to Ukraine from diff countries.Know mines sending electricity for free and so do others ,thise who gave gas, they send gas. Those who send diesel, gasoline, oil and other petroleum products & lubricant. Both for military and civillian use.
All the generators sent and still coming to civillian usagt and military use + you have those who use several dozens of generator running like mini power stations ,where they also use batteries(or was it another thing?)..Power Banks.
Seen it in a few segment from Ukraine and TG channels from ukrainians showing small to larger operations.
All the ingenuity in the ukrainian ppl was one thing the russians really realky underestimated their enemy ...
Lol,And not to forhet all the farmers who raided a shit load of russian armored vehicles & SPG-Howitzers ++..
      And their drone use....
And they've even made own prototype armored IFV's æ. Know of 3 the soldiers in coop w/a factory made.
The MTLB+a 100mm Howitzer like cannon mounted on. The gun is known to be a tank killer .
They made first an own ,the soldiers. Then a small conpaby got interrested and made 1prototype and 2 production mødres, tho all 3 is good.
Their IFB or infanteri fighting Bugges they have.
The jeeps they turned into lightly armored IFV for these very rapid dere deilig attack tactics that was used 1x in Iraq.Sometging that was made up as they went, attackibg this Iraq city.
And AFU adopted this into be the lighting strike attacks they did to clean out Kharkiv,Kherson and other smeller battles.
They run it as a normal tactic.
It is very dabgerous,if it goes, wrong, it punish ya hard. But when success, it give enormous gain conpared to any other offensive tactics give, and AFU's SoF's have become masters in performing them.
Something that is easy reckognizable on videos of it.
To be honest! If this war hadbt been sent live more or less,1-4h delay at most to several days ,weeks even months b4 we get to see. But it's the first ever war that have been broadcasted and covered so widely as it is ..
      That's also thanks thmo Ukraine.
That's why almost all news media +other media got themselves a Telegram channel cuz UA govt & other sources like military servicemen&women to top commanders.
TG doesnt take down ur content just like that or eemonetize.
+its 2 russian kids(at that time)who made it. It was a wierd platform for wierdos and extremusts. Now Telegram is normal.
Also do to Ukraine's way to communicate and the platform they chose, they chose it cuz they knew it wasnt blocked for russian speakers including russians in Russia.
So with all the new and innovative wsys & stuff they started to use. No wonder they handle so many weapons system so easy and very good ...Right?

I agree with the clarification. 👍 ... and I have some doubts about some aspects of the matter
With regard to its use in Ukraine, there is no verifiable information on the first operational use of the weapon, in addition to the fact that it has not even been clarified whether (and on which) Ukrainian aircraft have already been configured for use. It is not even clear whether the Kit is adaptable to Ex Soviet-made bombs supplied to the Kiev Air Force. On the last consideration, the Polish aircraft already certified for the use of JDAMs, the Mig-29, associated with the Kit employ NATO drop armament, therefore it is very likely that the same operating condition would also apply to Ukraine.
p.s. given that aircraft like the A-10 are not talked about at all for Ukraine, using the JDAMs as a trailblazer for land actions, I really believe that it would be a powerful push also in the tactical field, not only in depth on Russian positions

The ability to hit Russian positions with quite powerful bombs, much deeper than the front line area, is one of the best features of the JDAMs. However, the war impact that such weapons would have if they were also used in the tactical context of the front itself should not be underestimated. Concentrations of troops, fortified sectors and points, crossroads, etc., are literally the favorite meal for similar weapons, which can be used effectively in saturation attacks on the opposing defenses and a real lockpick suitable for unhinging the enemy land devices (including naval ones... wanting) 🤔
