And if you find it difficult to put knee and ankle in one line.... You can move your feet forward with the help of hands and maintain ashwa sanchalana asana properly.
In Ashwasanchalan ( The Equestarian pose” meaning ” Horse riding) your gaze should be in front not towards the ceiling. Who rides horse looking towards the sky? 2. Knee and ankle in one straight line. 3. Bhujang Aasan - gaze shouldn't be towards ceiling.
In ashwasanchalasana or the runner's pose, the knee and ankle should be in the same line forming 90 degree angle with the ground else this can hurt the ankles as well as knee.

Your knees should be at 90 degrees angle when you bring them in front. It shouldn’t be pointed forward but upwards towards the sky.
