Surya Namaskara, also called 'Sun Salutation,' is a very ancient technique of paying respect to the sun that is the source of all forms of life on the planet. The solar plexus (located behind the navel, which is the central point of the human body), is said to be connected to the sun. Regular practice of this technique enhances the solar plexus, which increases one's creativity and intuitive abilities. There are 12 poses that are performed to finish one round.
Benefits of Surya Namaskara:
- Stimulates abdominal muscles, respiratory system, lymphatic system, spinal nerves and other internal organs
- Tones the spine, neck, shoulder, arms, hands, wrist, back and leg muscles, thereby promoting overall flexibility
- Regulates the interconnectedness of body, breath, and mind, thus making you calmer

I have been practicing yoga since Grade 11. I am 38 yrs old now and I don't look like I am ageing up. I did find peace. I will keep on practicing it till I take my last breath. I love me and my yoga.

Yes, you said right. I also observed that you must do all steps mindfully and focusing on breath. It's more important than doing too many rounds quickly.

Please everyone, be careful not to let your knee go past your toe in the equestrian pose. The knee should always be at a ninety degree angle to avoid injury.

Only Astang Namskarasana knees shouldn't touch the ground. But it is ok if you don't have strength to sustain the pose.

Ma'am, In Ashwa Sanchalanasana, Knee and ankle should be in line and No weight should be there on ankle otherwise we might end up getting hurt. :)
Dear Ronak. Thank you for your comment. Please advise me the right video. I am not competent to identify what is right and what is wrong. I have a knee problem and wouldn't like to make it worser than it is. Thank you.
@@FarahiIsayeva you can follow this video ...the only difference you need is maintain 90° angle between knee and ankle... that's how you will keep on knee and ankle in single line...and weight will be uniformly distributed.
And if you find it difficult to put knee and ankle in one line.... You can move your feet forward with the help of hands and maintain ashwa sanchalana asana properly.

Is it ok to bend your knee more than 90 degree in ashwasanchalanasana or step 4 as I do it just like you, but I got to hear in various videos that its a mistake.

Your knees should be at 90 degrees angle when you bring them in front. It shouldn’t be pointed forward but upwards towards the sky.
