Why is Jesus' teaching in John 14:1-3 an analogy of a Jewish wedding?

we try to separate his coming from the gathering to try and make these verses fit a pre-trib doctrine but we can't do that...all timing of the gathering is shown in matthew and the fact that its during the last trumpet.

    Daniel 12.
In verse 13 Daniel is told to , "Go thy way until the end be"
    then
"you will stand or rise to your lot at the end of the days".
Daniel will be raised from death at the end of the days.
So from what Gabriel tells Daniel, his resurrection, (and the resurrection of all the saints for that matter), and the Rapture which is tied to the resurrection in 1Thes. 4:15-17 and 1Cor. 15:51 will come at the end of the final seven years of this age; not before.

After the rapture occurs there will be many that become believers. I personally believe that during the tribulation millions will become believers and will be the largest in gathering of believes in all of recorded history.

in the new testament we see his coming and the gathering in the same verse and context. And we are told that that day..his coming and our gathering cannot happen until the great falling away and that man of sin be revealed.
We try to pull the gathering out of that but even jesus puts it in that order in Mat 24..why should we think any differently?

If the rapture is an "imminent" event, why do so called"prophecy" teachers always give people an opportunity to "purchase" their teaching at the end of their broadcast? Why not give it away to help their fellow christians? All this guy is talking about is analogy this and that. I have never seen anywhere in scripture where it says there will be 7yrs. of tribulation. All I see is,times, times and half a time,42months,3 1/2 yrs. Where does 7yrs come from? If it was a wk of Dan why not Rev11:11?3yr?

That place in John 14:1-3 is the bride itself according to Rev. 19:17, It makes sense that if Christ returns to earth, then that place is finish.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

    • @theogentile4579
      @theogentile4579 6 років тому +1

Ronnie Murphy thats NOT the bride, it's a city called Jerusalem! read last verse after description of city, verse 27 there shall in no wise enter into it... but they which are written in the LAMBs book of life. Common sense, how can you enter something that you allegedly are? Sheep are not precious stones ect... Maybe you should ask for wisdom now, you're already forgiven so learn the truth BIBLE for yourself instead of a "man" giving his opinion instead of Gods Word.

The bible doesn’t mention the tribulation being 7yrs.
    Only the covenant.
Also tribulation means persecution. Thilipsis in Greek.
The wrath of god is Orge (wrath)
The word tribulation can not be used for the latter part of the period.

    • @rhondaalbrecht
      @rhondaalbrecht 5 років тому +1

One week = 7 years. If you don't understand that this is the reference to the 7 years, then you need to go back and read the Word again... because Scripture explains Scripture.
Tribulation is what we have been undergoing since Jesus' resurrection, and even before, as He, Himself, was persecuted. The Wrath of God is reserved for the worst time on the earth, when God completely turns His back on the inhabitants of the earth, and the fallen angels, with Satan as their earth-bound leader, will be in complete control of the earth. Revelation 9 tells us who these beings are! They are the fallen angels, being released from the Abyss, by their leader, who is the star who is falling from the heavens, along with the 1/3rd of the stars. Stars are another reference to the rebellious angels, the 'Sons of God' who turned against Father, and to Satan as their leader. Understanding that Matthew 24 is describing a period of 2,000 years... it's not all at once... then you begin to understand that 'tribulation' (lower-case) is what the Church has been experiencing since His death and resurrection. The GREAT TRIBULATION defines a separate period of 7 years, bookcased by the Rapture (snatching up the Bride, those who have become obedient and sanctified to the Father, through Jesus Christ, and rejecting the teachings of the fallen angels, but following strictly the teachings of the Father) and the actual return of Jesus at the end of the 7 years, when He actually steps foot on the Mount of Olives.
Those who refuse to completely reject the teachings of the fallen angels will be entering into the Great Tribulation age period, and if they survive through the other end, without taking the Mark of the Beast, they will enter into the Millennial Reign in their mortal states, and be the ones to repopulate the earth during that period, as no one else will have that ability, just as Noah and his family did, after the Great Flood (note: both catastrophic events are called 'Great'... why?). There will many who will die during the Great Tribulation, refusing to take the Mark, because they realize that the beings that have taken over the earth will be as what they were told about prior to the Great Tribulation, but like you are, right now, refused to believe that there was an exit plan in place before the Great Tribulation began. These are the 'martyrs' or 'saints' (depending on which translation of the Word you're using) of the Great Tribulation age who do not get their immortal bodies (white robes) until the end of the Great Tribulation age ends. Those snatched up in the pre-Trib immediately receive their immortal bodies. The reason for the pre-Trib Rapture is to separate those that will be co-ruling with Jesus during the Millennial Reign, who have proven themselves worthy (2 Tim 2:15) to rule with Him, just as promised. Peter tells us that we will be co-ruling with Him, those of us who have been deemed worthy/righteous, in Father's eyes, not our own.

There are many events that occur at the end, which are somewhat different events, but they still take place at the end as the scriptures have said. The day of the Lord, upon which the rapture and the final battle occurs, happens after the sixth seal when the sun turns dark and the moon turns to blood.
The rapture is a different event than his coming yes, but one can't ignore that they are discussed as happening one with the other. The bible continuously associates the rapture with his coming.

verse 1 of 1 thess 2 speaks of the coming of Jesus and our gathering together unto him...how that day..the coming and our gathering cannot happen until the falling away and the man of sin is revealed.
This fits with what Jesus said in Matt, how certain things must come to pass then he will return and send his angels to gather his people.

Again, thanks but no. Of course we can't 'know' until it happens, but many ppl sharper than I teach from the verses just as I have discerned on my own. I am not alone in my perspective.
In the unlikely event that Believers will be here through the Great Trib, I am ready to accept and deal with that.
We may be in the a/c rule for a while but the 1st half 't'rib will be relatively peaceful. The 2nd half that (Great T) is concurrent w/The Wrath which we are explicitely told we will not see.

Couldn’t find a post by 1nf3rn0 but I copy and post it from my email. In this case I will answer a fool according to his folly [Proverbs 26:5] “Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.”
“+VOLKHVORONOVICH Name one time in the Bible God's righteous
was persecuted? Didn't Noah escape the flood and Lot escape Sodom before God
destroyed the city? Why would anything change in the last days? I'm not buying
the man made dialogue of post trib, you people are sooooo dangerous to the
    Faith!”
“Name one time in the Bible God’s righteous was persecuted?” How about two [for the price of one] Abel [in the Old Testament] and Stephen [in the New]. The very first martyrs in each Testament. How obvious is that? Does this person even read the Bible? Have they not read Psalm 116:15-“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints?”
Have they not read Revelation 6:9-10 which says “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”
No he’s not buying “man-made” dialogue of post trib [even though it’s all through the Bible]-but he swallows Satan’s doctrine of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. And people like me are so dangerous to the Faith? What faith is he talking about? Certainly not the one the Bible speaks of. Does he think Hal Lyndsay and Perry Stone are going to save him?
This has got to be one of the dumbest defenders of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture I have ever run across. Oh-and in case you’re reading this, it’s “God’s righteous WERE persecuted.” “Was” is singular.Learn to write proper English before you post.

    In John 6:40, 44, and 54, Jesus
stated that those who believeth on him, he would raise up at the LAST DAY:
    John 6:40
    (KJV)
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one
which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I
will raise him up at the last day.
    John 6:44 (KJV)
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw
him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
    John 6:54 (KJV)
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal
life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
    Likewise, this
was the commonly held belief of those in Jesus' day who supported the notion of
    a resurrection - i.e., John 11:24.
    John 11:24
    (KJV)
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the
    resurrection at the last day.
    The Greek word
for resurrection anastasis is preceded by the Greek definite
article "the" resurrection. Also, the Greek word for last eschatos
is equally preceded by the greek definite article "the" last. If
there is only two resurrection, and the first is on the "last day,"
please explain how there can be another resurrection before that.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4King James Version (KJV)
3 Let no man deceive you by any
means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and
    that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
    4 Who opposeth and exalteth
himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God
    sitteth in the temple
    of God, shewing himself
    that he is God.

: ) Don't go by what I say. Go by what I mean.
"Earn salvation" is not strictly accurate but Trib Saints will need to prove themselves sincere followers of Jesus which they did not do under 'grace'. (In effect 'earning' salvation by proving themselves sincere New Believers.) The age of grace will be over and they did not accept the free salvation offered. I explained that in a subsequent comment.
This is a subject that can only be addressed by Jesus at the proper time. The point is moot.

The scriptures set the timeline for when the rapture takes place in the book of Revelation, and sets various sign posts and events along the way that mark when the rapture takes place. In regards to the Revelation timeline it is important to know that the three woes are linked to the last three Trumpets.
    Revelation 8:13 KJVS
[13] And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
According to Apostle John and Paul the Saints meeting the Lord in the air takes place at the seventh or last trumpet.
    Revelation 10:7 ESV
[7] but that in the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be fulfilled, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.
The mystery of God is Christ in you the hope of glory, Col 1:27. Apostle Paul was given a dispensation by God to preach the revelation of the mystery of God which fulfill the word of God, Col 1:25. Paul writes of this mystery in the often quoted verses in the 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians.
    1 Corinthians 15:51-52 KJVS
[51] Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, [52] In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
A interesting aspect of the mystery of God, mystery of Christ is that God has to make known to a individual what is the riches of the glory surrounding this mystery. So many bible experts do not understand this mystery because it is not given for them to know.
    Colossians 1:27 KJVS
[27] To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
The last trump/trumpet that sounds is the seventh trumpet and that is when the mystery of God is finished.
    Revelation 11:15 KJVS
[15] And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Many try to take the 12th chapter of Revelation and place it at the beginning of the tribulation or at the sixth seal. But the three woes that are linked to the last three Trumpets, makes that impossible. Most all agree that the man child is the body of Christ. The three woes are linked to the 5th-7th Trumpets, Rev 8:13. The first woe is when the bottomless pit is opened, 5th trumpet, Rev 9:11&12. Second woe takes place when the great earthquake occurs in Jerusalem following the death and resurrection of the two witnesses.
    Revelation 11:13-14 KJVS
[13] And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. [14] The second woe is past; and , behold, the third woe cometh quickly.
Always keep in mind the three woes are associated with the last three Trumpets even though it is not always apparent in the narrative of the 8th-12th chapters. Notice the third woe comes quickly after the second, Rev 11:14, and the third woe is when Satan is cast down to earth after the man child is caught up to the throne of God, Rev 12:5&12. The man child being caught up to the throne of God coincides with the seventh trumpet, Rev 11:15, and takes place between the second and third woe in regards to the passage of time. There are two seed of the woman mentioned in the 12th chapter of Revelation. The man child who is resurrected at the seventh trumpet, verse 5, and the remnant of the woman's seed, verse 17, who Satan makes war against during the last 3 1/2 years of the tribulation.
    Revelation 12:17 KJVS
[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
So you have two seed of the woman, one group resurrected/changed at the middle of the tribulation and another group that are on the earth during the final half of the tribulation. The woman flys into the wilderness for three and a half years. The wilderness is a place where one is tested and tried by God. www.justifiedfreely.com/?p=724
    Revelation 12:14 KJVS
[14] And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 are same event of Revelation 14:14-16. Revelation 15 shows that those reaped from the Earth are then in Heaven. Revelation 16 shows the wrath of God poured out on humanity. The unbelieving Jews will endure the same punishment poured out on the other unbelievers but some will see that Christ really is the Messiah as the New Testament testified. This period of time is the 70th week told about in Daniel (7 years and is likened to the time when Babylon captured Jerusalem and took the Jews captive.....but they will not succeed this time). Chapter 17 gives a detailed description of the Anti-Christ, who is the same person that has controlled most rulers throughout history, that is Satan). Yet, as I said, Satan and his forces will be destroyed by Lord Jesus, and chapter 18 is a continuation of chapter 17 (the original manuscripts had no chapters). In chapter 19, we see that the Church is with Christ in Heaven and has been judged at the Bema Seat of Christ and given fresh, clean robes, then the marriage supper event, all the while that the Great Tribulation (or "time of Jacob's trouble") is happening on Earth. Then Christ leads His armies (notice the plural tense) back to the Earth to destroy His enemies and set up His one thousand year rule on the throne of David in Jerusalem. All of this is due to His promises to Abraham, David, and others. The Great Tribulation is for Jews to be reconciled to God through Jesus since they wanted an Earthly kingdom instead of a spiritual one.

+Johnny Miller the true church is seen in heaven long before that, in Rev 4:4,10, and 5:9,10. The proof is in Romans 5:9,, 1 Thess 1:10,5;9, which all declare that the church is not under God's ( Elohim) wrath, which begins in the seals, Rev 6:1. Rev 14:14 - 16 most likely lines up with Matt 25 separating those who believe and those who don't during the tribulation period and also ties in with Rev 7, those who become believers after the sealing and preaching of the 144,000 sealed from the 12 tribes of Israel.

The question has to be asked was Jesus in Matt. 24 talking to His disciples as strictly Jewish disciples? If so then "Tribulation Saints" are Jewish Disciples and part of the church, since they became part of the church, and in fact, the very foundation (Jesus is the chief cornerstone). So according to this approach, only Jewish disciples have to be concerned about the abomination of desolation (the Beast, or lawless one), persecution, and the signs of the Lord's return, false christs, false signs and wonders, watching and being alert and receiving rewards for doing so, falling away from increased wickedness, Jesus coming like a thief in the night, etc. Is that right?

I accidently came across your question. No way can anyone 'earn' salvation or help anyone else into Heaven by any type of works, prayers, offerings, etc. We are under the Age of Grace. Trib Saints (who are not the Bride of Christ) must earn salvation after the rapture when the Age of Grace is ended.
Please point out to me my response that indicated that I said or implied such. Perhaps the comment was misread or perhaps I need to reword my comment?

@prewrathrapture333 Luke 21:28 is telling people to look up at the BEGINNING not the END OF. TRY reading it out loud.
The verse before are descriptive/prophetic verses telling what will happen and vs 28 is saying when you see the BEGINNINGS of the previous mentioned verses, look up for your REDEMPTION.
it is just that simple. You make the same mistake reading Rev 20:4-6.

Quote: "Trib Saints (who are not the Bride of Christ) must earn salvation after the rapture when the Age of Grace is ended."
They will find salvation the same way as we, through the blood of the lamb and the testimony of Jesus. Never, ever does one "earn" salvation otherwise they have whereof to glory but not before God. You know that verse I'm sure.

I have noticed that most (not all) post trib believers are annoyed, angry, sarcastic, and frustrated. They don't believe that Jesus could come at any SECOND. On the other hand, most (not all) pre trib rapture believers are calm, polite, peaceful and gentle. If you don't believe me, just look at the posts. Not just here but all over. Though the Jewish wedding is beautiful, it is not the bases or foundation on which biblical theology should be built. Remember, the Jewish wedding is a tradition of men and should not be used to establish pre-trib theology. The authority of doctrine comes from scripture alone and not traditions.

lets use logic...If God says in Mark 13 verse 20...that his people are chosen and special (elect) ...who are the people that supposedly raptured up before all of this destruction that he speaks of?? Pretty sure he clearly states that we all are servants..as stated in Rev Chapter 7 verse 3. So if we all are equal from that perspective why would he take some and leave some..fact of the matter...anyone who lives a life in accordance/obedience to the holy spirit is living a pure life..bc of our nature...we have to be transformed, but asking for forgiveness we have a clean slate and pure in God eyes because he is only forgiver of sin!

There is a reason why Christ is called a 1st fruit. It is because the bible is pointing to a Hebraic harvest cycle. This happens in three stages
    (1) 1st fruits of which Christ is preeminent and has taken place (Completed)
    (2) General harvest
    (3( Four corner gleanings.
If Christ the 1st fruit is completed then this leaves only two stages left. Next is the general harvest (Prior to trib) and the four corner gleanings (during the trib)
Any other way and it does not fit the dispensations

I wonder why most "pre-trib" christians use the Jewish wedding as a "type" of rapture scenario. What if we lived in a 3rd world country with no knowledge of Jewish customs and all we had to rely on was the scriptures? Would we then conclude that the rapture is "pre-trib"? Paul told new converts that we must through "much tribulation" enter into the kingdom of God(Acts 14:22) Was he lying to the new believers?
