- Jurors heard witness testimony on Tuesday in Johnny Depp's defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp sued Heard after she wrote a 2018 op-ed piece in The Washington Post in which she referred to herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse." She never mentioned Depp by name, but Depp's lawyers said it was a clear reference to accusations Heard made in 2016 when she sought a restraining order against him. Heard has filed a countersuit against Depp that accuses his lawyers of defaming her at his direction.

Dr. Curry was terrific! Very intelligent. I liked the way she looked at the Jury while talking. She also explained things in a way everyone could understand but didn't talk "down" to people while explaining.
I loved how she basically called that lawyer out for her stupid questions the whole time but she was so nice about it 😅. Also the way the lawyer looked at her kinda seemed she was intensly annoyed by her questions. A lot of these questions didn't even lead anywhere and made no sense🙈
Ya she's good looking, good at what she does, and knows how to play a courtroom for sure, this ain't her first rodeo

I was waiting for her to try to assume that they had some sort of group sex encounter or something, I was like geez lady! I don't think its completely foreign to try to get to know someone and make sure they're the correct individual to deal with such a public yet personal matter.
This psychologist held her composure & poise despite the questioning. Just shows how professional she truly is. Complete integrity intact.

It's hard to watch Amber's attorney question the police officer and expect her to recall everything that occurred 5 years ago at the time of the deposition? She treats her as if she's guilty when she doesn't have an answer she wants. So unprofessional. It's disturbing.

Describing a witness as a “generic white male” at the time of the incident does nothing for this officer’s credibility. That’s shoddy policing.
It's a taste of their own medicine... They do that to people daily.. so every so often, they are questioned in a similar fashion in court by lawyers that talk down to those they're examining. But seriously... these lawyers have spent months if not longer staring and studying this data, and they expect these people to remember everything that was said and when it was said and the order it was said in for every previous day of their lives. That's just not possible -- I bet most couldn't tell you what they had for lunch the past 3 days, let alone yesterday.
Dr Curry was amazing in the witness box. She remained professional and stood true to her findings.

@@annikataufer5463 I'd never heard of such a thing, so I looked it up. Federal cases, witnesses are paid $40 a day and 57.5 cents per mile to courthouse travel. Then it breaks down state by state. Virginia is only "Mileage paid at the same rate as state employees.", no day rate.
Honestly, $40 is a joke I'm sure to all of these witnesses pay grade.

Asking a question by answering the question you are asking is actually leading the witness. Depps attorneys should have objected every single time she asked the witness a question. Her approach was absolutely unacceptable

Heard is unbelievable. The amount of deceit and malice one must have to even think about bringing that information back to your legal team in order to use such it against this witness’s credibility is off the charts. Ms. Heard only showed the world, yet again, that she epitomizes and continually perpetuates “no good deed goes undone.”

Heard's lawyer seemed to me to be almost combative in an attempt to discredit Dr Curry. The doctor maintained her dignity and professionalism

*he didn't wake up one day in his 50's and decide to suddenly become abusive
* quite hypocritical and anti-feminist when women support an abuser solely bc she is a female, it harms all of us women to do so
*zero evidence he ever laid a finger on her, despite all of her surreptitious and illegal recording (his audio was suggested by therapist and both were aware of it), and the video slamming cabinets was taken when his mother had just died and he had lost 600M, yet she kept antagonizing him when he was clearly already distraught, when she could have left him alone at any time, then smiles and laughs at end

*she sent a letter stating if she didn't get penthouse, cars and money , she would file for restraining order
*she was angry that it leaked that she had been a stripper and blamed him though he didn't leak it
*she has not one but two prior dv arrests
*three police officers, highly competent forensic/clinical psychologist, hospital, staff, ad infinitum all back up Depp's not Heard's falsified accounts...I suppose they are ALL lying except for Heard?
*she admits on audio to being the one who starts physical fights, mocks him for not engaging but leaving when she is violent, severed his finger and put out a cig on his face, PER HOSPITAL RECORDS
*she violated the TRO by seeking him out and trying to get him to sleep with her, probably so she could claim sexual assault
*she withheld his withdrawal meds which is life threatening, taped him in pain and bought him a knife while encouraging self harm, she probably would have been fine if he died so she could portray 'grieving widow' since she was so livid that she wasn't in the will
*plethora of ACTUAL EVIDENCE of HER violence, lies, etc and ZERO against Depp

Narcissistic people are extremely mentally and emotionally abusive. They can be the most beautiful person towards others and especially in public, plus make the victim look like the abuser to all of their friends and family. In addition, the extreme mental and emotional abuses by the narcissist can "gaslight" the victim to look like the perpetrator because of how they can eventually respond abusively based on how they were mentally and emotionally programmed to behave.
And that is what the attorney is trying to bring out.

I love how all these testimonies who are professionals at there job have proven that amber heard did not sustain injuries. Amber heards lawyers questions just keep cementing the facts that she was not being abused and in fact she could be the abuser.

They didn't need to. The witness's answers did that perfectly and it shows that the lawyers are totally wrong in a lot of their assertions. Likewise, the witness doesn't always correct the wrong assumptions, she has the confidence that the jury will pick it up. "My husband DID NOT buy the muffins for Ms Heard."

This does seem like a case in where a woman uses her gender card but even with that Johnny doesn’t seem all that innocent and hiding certain things while remaining truthful. @@ciscole2831 that’s your opinion… ambers PARENTS are on johnnys side saying that he’s never been any sort of “abusive”. even his ex’s and a lot of other people have said that he’s never been abusive towards anyone. there’s obviously a different vibe while listening to amber and johnny speak. she’s more aggressive with her words, and constantly looking at people trying to get them to believe her is a method that many people have used (normally those people are guilty). johnny is more calm and he’s not trying to blame anyone while he is talking. i really do believe that johnny is innocent. amber was probably planning this for years because she’s psychotic or has a personality disorder as they’re saying in this vid. johnny was abused his whole childhood, so in MY opinion i think he was scared to speak up when amber was doing things to him. there is a recording of amber literally saying that she was “hitting” him. also in the recording amber is just trying to blame blame deny deny whereas johnny is more calm. she is an extreme gaslighter.
@cam cam yeah Its very easy to not pick a side . The parents weren’t there to witness an abuse doesn’t mean it didn’t happen from either him or her . It’s crazy the way people pick a side as if they witnessed and they were there and base everything off her bad over exaggerating acting and his calm acting. I know everyone wants to believe they are human behavioral experts . The facts are they are both actors and it’s undeniable that the relationship as a whole both sides included was an abusive one and it went on for a long extended amount of time. Both decided to stay in it the relationship, for that reason I find it hard to believe either side is completely innocent as both portray themselves to be when talking about themselves. Heard could have been toxic and Depp could have been spiraling down out of control both could be true .

Attorneys take just a part of a testimony as a satisfactory for their case, while completely ignoring an important fact that undermines it. Dr. Curry's answers pointed out how easily one can manipulate with the truth.
Also, I just love Dr. Curry's answer to the question at 32:48, as she showed that between her and Dr. Cowan, she is the more reliable one when it comes to bringing science.
Such BS how the lawyer is trying to make it sound like Johnny and the expert witness are having an unprofessional relationship. And try to undermine, the expert witness credibility.
The dynamic between these two women is interesting to watch. Both clearly driven, talented, intelligent and hard working individuals, excelling in their chosen professions. However, one is so utterly outmatched on every level that it's almost hard to watch at times

What's important here is to be able to see through the lines… This terrible defense attorney is not trying to get to the truth, she is actually just trying to misinterpret every single word, being rude and worst his defense is based on trying to demean and des qualify a terrific doctor. Sad. As a men who adore women, and how society has in some way stabilize the clear inequalities between men and women on the past by years of decent women fighting, I see this with tears in my eyes, basically just coming back to zero on the fight for equality. But positively Johnny is defending a big cause. We men ALSO have rights. We can`t be abused and just stand it.

The doctor is very articulate, her statements and examples are very targeted as to prove JD point and she testifies she has been hired to prove these points.
Memory difficulty is a symptom of PTSD yet Amber Hurd describes in detail her alleged abuse from Johnny. She goes into detail and even remembers how the carpet was dirty and the dog stepped on a bee. How can she remember everything in detail yet says she has holes in her memory.
Because memory is spotty and not reliable our brains can recall minor details and forget other things.
It's actually how she's been recalling actual events of her so called trauma. She shifts from 1st person to 3rd person perspectives rapidly, like a director would do with camera angles. It honestly appears that she read what the symptoms were of PTSD and simply studied for a part. Using key words like how she couldn't remember things "linearly". However, she jumped around in her testamony so much and expected it to be forgiven and chalked up to PTSD whereas a real victim of PTSD will indeed have difficulty with linear event recall, they remember every detail, mostly emotional and physical pain up to the point of when they either blacked out or lost consciousness because of what they were going through. Memory loss comes from what happened after the traumatic event. Severe cases of PTSD the sufferers won't even recall the traumatic event, such as that of war time veterans and SA and DV victims that have experienced severe and brutal traumas. It even appears in childhood PTSD cases where the child's brain has completely blocked the incident. As a survivor of SA and DV, AH's recounting of her SA and DV seemed anything but credible to me. I was enraged and almost in tears listening to her lies. Dear Lord, the woman was quoting "The Talented Mr. Ripley" in her opening statement! This is all just another role to play to her and she's doing an enormous disservice to EVERYONE that's been through or will go through SA and DV!

All of which have no bearing on wether or not he physically abused Ms. Herd. This is very brave of Johnny. Yes…., the man has some deep personal issues. I sincerely hope his psych matures and heals as a result of this horrible ordeal.

Yes but he has been forced into this because his future income streams have dried up. It will be difficult to employ him with the tags he will have, he wants to carry on working whilst acknowledging his own faults. No one is completely innocent here but revenge may be at the heart of making the impact worse for the income earner.

Every thing Shannon said when describing the causes and nature of borderline personality disorder was spot on. What I don't understand is why they keep skirting from borderline personality and bipolar disorder since both are quite different. BPD is a personality disorder whereas bipolar is a mental disorder, unfortunately however, many people with BPD are misdiagnosed as having bipolar disorder, therefore don't receive the correct treatment

Amber's lawyer tried *so hard* to paint the picture that Dr. Curry believed that the abuse happened when in reality, she was simply behaving professionally and saying that it isn't the role of a psychologist to determine whether a crime occurred. That would be unethical because Psychologists are only hearing the version of their patients and they tend to believe their patients.
She was basically calling the exact behavior that Ambers's lawyer showed later "unprofessional" and "unethical".
A simple question: If Amber Heard was really abused by Johnny Depp, why did she always stop him from leaving the house or wherever they stayed? She should have felt happy and relieved; should have hoped and wanted him to leave ASAP, right?

I hate how lawyers ask questions illogically. If someone asks "Did you not do x?", and you say "Yes." It means you did not do x. But the way people speak is illogical so they would answer "No; I did not do x." in order to clarify. It just makes everything take way longer. It's so frustrating. Just phrase a yes or no question clearly asking if they did x.
Someone very close to me suffered extreme emotional damages at the hands of a woman who was/is dangerously mentally unstable and abusive ; similarly if not precisely, as Amber Heard. I recognize Amber's DPD & her IPV behavior as clearly & distinctly as the palm of my hand.
