Well, my brother is not a professional fighter, and having someone initiate some sort of attack is better than me demonstrating on the "air". This is the best we could do that day. I hope both of us can improve in the future. OSS!
Oss master Jason I really appreciate but I have a problem of a hip when kicking ura mawashi geri, my hip always been out of joint and painful. I don't know what shall I do but I really like that kick.thanks
Sensi isn't supposed that a takedown with two hands is now illegal in karate like in 4:18 if I use this takedown will it be possible that the refree will give me ipoon which means 3 points please answer my question???
In real karate and real combat it is not illegal. That is all I care about. If I am going to train a martial art, I will make it deadly and effective. But for some “sports” competition it is illegal. One thing you need to understand is the difference between sport and budo karate. Let me know if you have questions.
@@ULTIMATEKARATEOFFICIAL well I'm 16 years old I train shotokan karate I'm an advanced player you know from my training experience karate can be extremely helpful and effective In my academy (dojo) all my friends are fearless and savage they kinda look like a tough fighters or as you can say (alpha dogs) we train kumite but the difference is we train in a savage atmosphere like we dont use control in our dojo of course we use the method that says control your emotions but we dont use the method called control your hits we hit the kizami tsuki so hard that my friend was going on a tear mood and he's eyes turned red duo to the impact of the strike We do the punches / kicks /takedowns / sweeps so hard and of course we do the takedowns with two hands and of course with one hand And of course we train karate like sport actually we do practice them both To be honest with you this training method made me a beast in the streets and in other martial arts because I tried muay thai/judo / bjj but I've quit them all know I' only train karate I have a friend in the same age as me he's a boxer and a tough guy so we spar together and to be honest with you he's strong but duo to the method I use I've totally got the upper hand I was also bullied by a person who's 4 years older than me and I was surprised that he had a few classes of k1 kickboxing style But he lacks skill and mobility bla bla bla One day I met him in a mall then he was making jokes and laughs at me I was very upset and really angry I said to him I'm getting tired of this so we started the fight I punched him with a hard gyaku zuki on the face I dodged his attacks then I did a take down that's in kumite when you grab your opponent's waist with one hand and throwing him on the ground then I hit him with to gyaku zuki when he was on the ground one in the face and one in his stomach So yeah shotokan is really effective in my opinion let me know what's your opinion about my comment Oss🥊🥋❤
Hello Jason, Thanks for this video. It is a nice Christmas present for the subscribers. I like certain techniques. Thank you also to your partner for having given his time to the realization of these beautiful technical exchanges. Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones. Philippe
you are not only brilliant in kata but also in kumite - thanks for the inspiration. Just wanted to start kumite with my kid classes and give them the basic kumite combinations. super useful video
Thanks a lot sense for this video, Now, I can use this kumite techniques for kumite events :) I am a 10th Kyu (Yellow belt) Karate player in Sri Lanka :) Sense, If you can, upload a video about marks system of Kumite tournament!!
Even if your afraid do it once in a while, get comfortable with it, start to enjoy it, and you’ll naturally cultivate some skill over time with dedication
I suppose everyone is at some point. But the best way to overcome that fear in my opinion is to keep sparring. I have a friend who is much better and stronger in martial arts than I am, but I trust him so I spar with him every once in a while. So the first step is to arrange for a trustworthy sparring partner and get on with that.
I have been doing karate since I was 6 and I have stopped because of covid. I started again a month ago and I don't remember anything and I have an exam for the black belt by the end of June and your content is really helpful especially the kata because my teacher isn't showing them again .
Thanks muchly Sensei Jason.this kumute including kata joint and kata unsu I always enjoy it will truly help me in a tournament for my green belt this year.
I have done Korean Karate my whole life (no it's not taekwondo for the internet know it all that's already got his fingers going.) So I'm not a Shotokan guy by any means. But one thing I've noticed every Shotokan guy does, is they fight like they are in a 2D side-scrolling video game. Utilize your angles better there are more movements than just forward and backward. Just try getting off the train tracks it's crazy what you can accomplish when you utilize angles. "Angles Create Opportunities"
This is a basic set of techniques to give the practitioner general guidance. There are much more ways to counter or attack, perhaps I can show for a future video!
There is a lot of getting off the train tracks in kumite and you see it come into play at green belt with kihon ippon (basic one step sparring) where you sabaki then you further build up to a tai sabaki, this follows through to jiyu ippon (semi-free fighting) and once you get to jiyu kumite it’s a free for all. For the 2D side scrolling part that is semi true for basic 5 or 3 step sparring as that is simply forwards and backwards, however by no means does it forever stay that way. When demoing techniques usually they would do the technique alone no build up, stalking, circling etc. which I’m assuming is again why the fighting looks like a tekken character lol.
Good night Sensei Leung! I from Guatemala, I have 51 years old. But I have the dream to compit in Kata y Kumite. But I dont have resistence. Can you tell me how I can to start? Thank you

In my academy (dojo) all my friends are fearless and savage they kinda look like a tough fighters or as you can say (alpha dogs) we train kumite but the difference is we train in a savage atmosphere like we dont use control in our dojo of course we use the method that says control your emotions but we dont use the method called control your hits we hit the kizami tsuki so hard that my friend was going on a tear mood and he's eyes turned red duo to the impact of the strike
We do the punches / kicks /takedowns / sweeps so hard and of course we do the takedowns with two hands and of course with one hand
And of course we train karate like sport actually we do practice them both
To be honest with you this training method made me a beast in the streets and in other martial arts because I tried muay thai/judo / bjj but I've quit them all know I' only train karate
I have a friend in the same age as me he's a boxer and a tough guy so we spar together and to be honest with you he's strong but duo to the method I use I've totally got the upper hand
I was also bullied by a person who's 4 years older than me and I was surprised that he had a few classes of k1 kickboxing style
But he lacks skill and mobility bla bla bla
One day I met him in a mall then he was making jokes and laughs at me I was very upset and really angry I said to him I'm getting tired of this so we started the fight I punched him with a hard gyaku zuki on the face I dodged his attacks then I did a take down that's in kumite when you grab your opponent's waist with one hand and throwing him on the ground then I hit him with to gyaku zuki when he was on the ground one in the face and one in his stomach
