I have never heard an arranged soundtrack to a video game before, and I have always like playing DD2 the music at that time was really good for that game, but to hear it differently in this format is some what genius.
Roar of the Twin Dragons is just an epic 80s anthem. Could just as easily hear it in a Rocky movie or some Dragon Ball-esque anime from the day. Just a pure face-melter of a guitar solo in the middle of that thing. Absolute perfection.
26:06 oh yeah. thats my jam right there. Such an incredible hype moment when you hit that second phase of the boss and it actually felt like a final boss fight.
It's video game boss incarnate honestly. His name is literally the shadow boss ffs lol. Koolest sounding name ever and yes, he's a master of whoopin azz. Only a dragon performing at top levels can take him down. The fight starts with him being a sneaky invisible a hole and the player must rely on instinct alone to take him on. After a few good hits he gets mad and stops hiding and now he's coming at you with serious anger and a few dirty new moves. Besting him here and now is the most legendary feeling. There's a reason why double dragon 2 is the goat of side scrolling beat em ups haha. This is just one of the many reasons.
Fantastic Songs.
The cover of Double Dragon II, is the best cover of all the series.. I need to find a really nice version of it- so I can have it made into a poster or so.
How can you not love this? They'd not only do legitimate albums of good video game soundtracks, but also meld it with late 80's Japanese pop, bizarre Kenny G sax and a weird interpretation of mid-80's Pantera / Judas Priest-like guitar work. It's insane, but it's also beautiful. From 37:09 to the end is a pretty good example of the last point.
Este juego es muy bueno!! Cuanta nostalgia y esta versión de su Soundtrack hecho con instrumentos musicales es lo más espectacular que escuche... Gracias
that sounds so weird. in my day a grandfather would be doing good to turn on a lightswitch or use one of the newfangled Calculators to do math... certainly not one to play video games!
The game’s soundtrack is what it is. It’s not one of the most memorable soundtracks in the history of the NES, but it still features a handful of catchy themes. The ending theme in particular is a highly inspired and memorable song, and it goes without saying that this theme is the best one in the game.
+TheCodedtestament I guess to each his own as the soundtracks was always one of my favorite nes soundtrack. Man the nes had some good music back in the day.
Best Nes Side scroller ever.. The combat was brutal in it's own Nes way lol. The graphics were great.. the levels were challenging. Ohh and the soundtrack.. what else could u ask for??
The first song takes me back to when I would watch the anime ads from Media Blasters and ADV Films just so I can record the songs to listen on my WalkMan while walking around school.
@7:25 -- how many of you were waiting for *"SHE'SSSS AN EASY LOVER!* She'll get a hold on you believe it! She's like no other, before you know it you'll be on your knees...."
I remember my older brother and his friend playing this. I thought the music was so damn cool (I was a little kid lol). The soundtrack influenced a little comic I was drawing because of this game, WAAAAAY later in high school, I actually made a little game based on the comic, which had been called "Epidemic of Violence"... Currently in the process of remaking it.
Outstanding job 👏👏👏 as musician i gotto say you did so good in everything, production sounds dop!!!! Arrangements sax solos guitars tones, bass , great groves , the sound of the keyboards omg 👏👏👏👏 Ggs
It’s an arranged soundtrack album from Japan that was released to coincide with the Famicom version of Double Dragon II. From ‘89, I believe. It’s awesome, yes. But it’s official and from around the time the nes version was made. (The arcade game was a year prior) Around the same time, Technos Japan licensed the soundtrack from one of their other games to the same band "O'Bits" (session musicians?) to release an arranged CD OST for Super Spike V'Ball / US Championship V'Ball. It's not as memorable, but still very good.
10:30 Your textbook brass heavy 80s fight scene music in any terrain causing certain death (in this case fighting to avoid being sucked out of a helicopter)
It was interesting hearing the "Dead or Alive" version with vocals, you wonder if this was like when Gene Roddenberry wrote the original "Star Trek" theme with lyrics to get two creator checks (one for music, the other for lyrics).
This seems like the soundtrack for a double dragon 2 cancelled live action movie from the 90's XD Much more the opening, seems like the beginning of the movie with scenes before the death of his billy's girlfirend XD

Listening to this made me realize that the mission 2 music is basically "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins.
Dude you're so right. This was ripped!!!
the intro is the same ........lol
Easy lover with a touch of grungy soul!! Mission 2 ,I love o
It!!
@@southeastmissourihypnosisf8418 I agree!

I spent many days on this game. Play, replay and re-re-re-replay. NES + Double Dragon 2 = the best combo for me.
This is one of the greatest albums of all time
100%!
Clearly inspired Phil Collins too
💯
03:42 is PEAK 80s, I love it so much. All i picture is Miami in the evening as the sun's going down and the nightlife is starting.
07:22, the band has noticed this song sounds like "easy lover" by the Genesis. They have even used the same intro LOL
By Phil Collins in Solo, not Genesis
Dark Fact It's better than the Arcade music!!!
somehow its fits DD perfectly....
The NES music sucks on all DD games
I always think this as well.
I remember playing this back in 1989 on the nes... Holy shit how time flys by.
ditto
Damn!
Это моя первая и самая любимая игра на nes

Guile's theme goes with everything ? NO ! "Roar of the Twin Dragons"'s theme goes with everything !
The 80's. Such as a sweet time. Love the games and life back then. Awesome!!
