Double Dragon II: The Revenge Longplay (Arcade) [60 FPS]:Billy and Jimmy are back for more action in this sequel from Technos! Read the video description for my review!
Bought an IIArcade off of someone a couple weeks ago and went down into my arcade yesterday morning with a cuppa coffee and finally played through this whole game. It still holds up. I remember when it came out I loved it the first one and this one was even better.
is it ok if i have a game theory discussion with you on such a topic? as to .. why i believe she stayed?.. and it would not matter if she did leave after her first kidnapping ? and most importantly .. why she was killed by the same person.. willy... who kidnapped her in the first arcade game?.... and why willy did it? ...which i believe she knew it will happen one day.....and how she knew billy and jimmy will fail to protect her from willy and his gang?..... according to the only the arcade games dd1 and dd2 only? it speaks volumes to me ...and please tell me if i am wrong? ...
9:43 has the best dodge of getting hit by a shovel you will ever see, the enemy is literally in a cartwheel hand stand as the shovel grazes his midsection and misses, pause it it’s great.
LogrusUK It's just the game's normal speed. It really struggles when there's multiple sprites on screen - that's a rare few seconds when it runs full speed 😁
11:56 when he kicks the knife in mid air is one of the little things that made this game great and more realistic than most games at the time and years after.
great play through, I havn't seen some of those ideas before. What rom and version of mame are you using please? I have ddragon2, ddragon2u and ddragon2b. All are missing the box that you throw at the beginning of mission 2. All I have is the wrecking ball???
Part of the reason why the NES games were so well received is the developers made them their own games - there's no way an 8-bit system could replicate the arcade experience at home (look at all the terrible ports).
One of the laziest sequels ever. All they did was change it to the Kunio-kun style of left/right attack and create new backgrounds. Even the ending is depressingly vague.
@@GoatZilla in this version Marion ( girl in the photo ) is killed off at the start of the game and the Lee brothers (guys in the photo) fight through the members of the Shadow Warriors gang to get to the guy that murdered her and kill him in revenge for killing Marion. and then they have to fight the physical manifestation of their hatred to finally let go of this and be able to move on. and both the player and the brothers are left feeling hollow with their victory because in spite of everything that happened none of it could bring Marion back and all the brothers are left with is their memories of her as they look at that old photo of her with them. HOWEVER in the home console releases this wasn't how things ended (at least on the higher difficulties). after defeating Machine Gun Willie and the shadow clone the brothers discover that the true gang leader of the Shadow Warriors, the Shadow Boss, was behind everything and that Marion wasn't actually dead and had been kidnapped and in a coma from her injuries the whole time. The Lee brothers then have to fight through his illusions and ultimately defeat him after breaking through his illusion bullshit. then Marion wakes up and the three of them go home.
Assuming Billy is somewhere in the 5’9”-6’1” range the dude the glasses is 11ft. tall at a conservative estimate, the hell with beating him up Billy should have been his sports agent and had the first ever pro Basketball and Football two sport athlete, he’d have been the starting center on any team in the NBA and the starting running back and center lineman in the NFL, even in the 80’s a player like that could have been pulling in 10 million combined not to mention the endorsement deals. I don’t know what Mr. Big was paying him but I’m guessing with all those goons on his payroll it wasn’t 7 figures let alone 8😆.

That's one of the most difficult arcades i have played and you beat it like a boss.
Nice!
My favorite part ever 4:22 turning into mission 2. complete mission 1 theme, the elevator then the mission 2 music, awesome!🤤
After being kidnapped by a criminal gang two times in two years, you'd think that Billy's girlfriend Marian would move the hell out of that city. 😆
Well ... women :D

@@Just_a_Lad xD xD
She was only kidnapped once (in the original game). In this game, she's outright murdered 😮
The music is on point. The NES port also did a great job with the music.
Mission 3 is some of the best music I've heard in an arcade game.
Toki best music ever
My childhood favourite game...

What's with the absolute change in game speed at about 05:55? Then it slows back down again?
LogrusUK It's just the game's normal speed. It really struggles when there's multiple sprites on screen - that's a rare few seconds when it runs full speed 😁
that was a glitch with the game, especially during the tractor fight, the game was as if it was frozen.
the song on mission 1 is a ripoff Phill Collins's "Easy Lover" and no one ever realized it.
Shush
@@MK-oj6hd And the helicopters on the first stage roof, just as them flying around a helicopter in the music video.
Brilliant work!
still remember when i was a kid, one of my hobbies was to watch other playing this game coz I didn't have money lol

I feel like the entire distance walked by this game is like 200 meters.
23:44 Love how they're both gawking down her top XD
one of the best endings ive seen good work gettin there tho

For me the two versions i like is double dragon 1 arcade and super double dragon snes
kicking or throwing bad guys off the cliff are the best, same with pits and water
I played a lot in 1989 I wanted to know if this game exists for some video game that is identical to the arcade?
The boss of second mission looks like retired Duke Nukem, like he had escaped from nursing house
The NES version was more fleshed out, more story and stages, but og arcade version is still the best, way better graphics and faster paced gameplay
I'm watching this, thinking how much the NES version deviated from the arcade, but I think I love the home version hella better.
Any time I ever beat this game it was set on free play. No way could I carry enough quarters to get through this.
10:10 forward I think it's awesome
I have the mame rom its a good sequel once you get the hang of it
Omg the slowdown
Still performs better than the first arcade game
You'd think at this point in time that Tecmo could've used already more capable arcade hardware@@solarflare9078
Everybody at the bottom thinking about double dragon 3.😂👇
This is two guy's.
Tidy. Absolutely hated the big guy with the sunglasses- cheesing him was the only strategy. That combine harvester was stupid too.
On the NES version he's shirtless.
"hai hai hai"
Chin dies in this one.
Dang Lee brothers yawl commited
Murder.
Explains why his brother vow to get
Revenge in 3.
What a lame ending after those tedious boss battles.

There are new enemies and new weapons too. What more could a beat 'em up sequel possibly do?
@@AchtungBaby77and new moves and music 😂 I even like the NES port☝️😂
@@AchtungBaby77I didn't understand the ending. Are they going to spit roast the one chick?

I still really enjoyed this. LOL
Not really 60FPS. This game is broken and has never been fixed.
Well, I think they mean the recording was done at 60FPS, rather than the game running at 60fps.
_Niko Linni_
Terrible ending. Well played though.
Umm what the heck terrible ending
