Lololol, awe man where's the clamp meter!!! I was sitting here ready! Got my cleanup towl and my coco butter in hand. I even turned the lights off and lit candles! Got Barry white playing too! Not having the clamp has made me more disappointed than when my mum got me the wrong power rangers costume for my birthday.. and I pee'd myself in front of everyone in protest! I clamped 7819 watts with this amp, wired at 1.33 rising to 1.9ohm, 75ah of cmax, 3 psi 18’s, JS 300, fired off at 15.4 dropping to 15v....Too say I’m impressed is an understatement 7 months strong, now I just need 3, dual 2 U 18s for finals, I’m now in love with sundown, thanks Nathan at Apex Audio for the great customer service, the hype is real🤙

@@pork.t.v9462 I used it for just over 2 years, no issues for me at all, sold it to a buddy who popped it because he didn't mount it, and slammed on his breaks. I wanted to see how long it would last. I run 4 Crossfire 18's in a 4th with a Crossfire 16k at .5ohm, 135ah c-max, careful the addiction is real😆🤙

I spent like $100 on Power wire and speaker wire, and still had some 2/0 left over, and that’s wiring 2 extra batteries in the trunk too. Already had the Optima Red top under the hood, I got 2 Blockshaker batteries off of Amazon for $125 a piece. I spent $380 on a Singer Alternator... so naw man you’re not even anywhere near being right.

If you run this at one on it’s going to take about 1200 A. That’s 4 300 amp alternator. That’s about $2000 in alternators minimal. I run something like this that does more watt power. And yes, I have to have 4 alternators. Cost me $10,000 for power just to power my amplifiers. I am in the serious spl. I really hope people don’t buy this thinking they’re going to play music with it. You’ll be able to get about 20 minutes of music before it dies at best on a stock system. This is not for beginners or the average person. Because of the amp draw you’re going to have 1200 amp draw before you run your meds and Highs. Please everyone do your research before you buy something like this. Research is one of the most important things before you buy something. I see way too many people buy something like this not realizing what they’re getting into dollarwise. Don’t misunderstand me these are great guys do you handle their warrantee is good. Derricks a great person. This amplifier is just not for everyone. I want people to know also alternators run for about 10 minutes and then they shut off to cool down. There is alternators that just run about 320 A and don’t shut off. These are the high dollar ones. This is why I have $10,000 in my charging system. I can play my music full blast for about half a day. Before it gets hot. I am in the 10,000 watt class. When I started I was in 100W class. That’s how much this is changed for me.This is been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Highly recommend anyone and everyone to get into it. Start small figure to build a good system you’re looking at two to $5000. When you get into SPL you’re going to have $30-$40,000 in your system to do it right. Not to say you can’t build junk and make it loud it just doesn’t last. I still have my first amplifier I bought. Good quality last forever. I would highly recommend sundown for your audio needs. They’re really good people and they care.
Wow we have come a long way since this comment. Now with lithium people are able to run 100,000+ watts with a single 400 amp alternator.... things have changed quite a bit

I know it's Chinese but $639 is still a fair price. I love Sundown but I've never purchased an amp because they're so expensive. I like the pricing on these though.

Remote knob from my e class 7500.1d granite audio works fine on my 8k. Factory sundown remote knob crackles and scratcheies. Awesome amp! Im pushing 4 nvx vc3 15" nvx. IT POUNDS!!!

Looking at dollars per watt this might be the best deal in car audio history 8000 Watts under 700 bucks RMS certified shout out to sundown Wilson audio Labs that you need to check this out are so budget gem or budget bust it might be over for every company how fair seeing this video I know I'm buying one or two amps for sure
And B2 audio just remorse Riot rated at like 8500 watts @ 14.4v for like $650. It doesn’t look as well built but I know B2 audio is a high quality brand so idk

I have a way that you can keep your power up on your bench test unit ... purchase a 5 horse electric motor at 3600 rpm and get a pulley to be 1-1 onto a 320 mechman alternator or one of your choice ... build a bracket to hold the motor and alternator in line with each other and make sure they are not grounded together because it will give a 60 hertz hum from the wall socket ... you will be guaranteed the full 320 amps with ease and be able to keep the bank voltage up ... I have built one for a back up charger for solar and it does phenomenally well for charging the bank quickly

you should build an alternator test bench so you can run an alt off an electric motor and belt, actually pretty reasonable to do.

That the first thing thats looked for to get out of having to warranty your items. 🤔 love your stuff as a owner already and I subscribe after watching your warranty video was great to see a USA company has came back again. I didn't know if this would help any but if you used a 120v to 14.5v transformer 149$ each there for a motor home rated at 150amp so use too of then use a battery disconnect for a off switch then hook up a stinger cap and run it to that lithium batterys set up you have. It would be great it's real similar to a vehicle set up. I run this set up on a 3amps set up in my garage thats wired to my home theater pre amp and Lc7 from that I go to the amps then to my 7.2 theater system in my living room. Works great. Love your stuff would buy if I didn't have something already but if I do it next specially after hearing your great warranty service. Till the next one great stuff 👍✌️👌😎👍 go sundown yeah

Hey how did this amp do on them 4 sa v.2 15s, I just got for of the same subs dvc 2ohm, did it power them good, or did they want more power than that? I'm looking for a amp to run at least 2 of the sa v.2 15s if not eventually all 4 , would appreciate any input or opinions
@@Cakelovezgo with a sis 3500.1d I ran it on 2 and it was way more than enough power on them. Make sure you have proper electrical before you even think about buying a big amp. Trust me I got 2 sundown xv3 15s and I didn’t even know what I was signing up for😅

The Only Thing I Hate About The SFB Line Is The Low Pass Filter Only Goes Down To 80. Call Me Stupid But I Need A Low Pass That Goes Down To 20Hz lol. If I'm Gonna Go Full Bridge And Lack A Low Range Low Pass Filter I'll Save Some Money And Go Taramps... Maybe... I Could Just Use A SFB With And External RCA Inline Low Pass Filter That Goes Down To What I Want But That's Not Really Clean Looking.
The current clamp tells you how many amps you need. Then you can build your whole system. Without this information you can’t even begin. I can’t believe Derek acts like he does about the important information. It all has to do with math. If you have a 1200 amp draw. For one amplifier. That tells me I’m going to need capacitors and three alternators to just power the one amplifier. This is why it’s so bad on an amplifier like this. This is a high amp draw on your power system. This is why I like D wiz doing these test. He goes above and beyond with the information. He’ll even run things that happen on that aren’t rated. I think if it was smart they would have a clamp meter. And burn one amplifier up lower in the ohms to see what it actually can do. Big company what’s the cost of one amplifier. Then you know what you’re buying. The meters are 200 bucks just go buy another one. They’re not that expensive.

I just bought and received from D4S my X18 v3 last friday and I didn't get a sticker or decal and it might seem petty to some but I was really looking forward to it since the x18 was my very first sundown product purchase and even owned so I was really disappointed with that

What level of rca input voltage will these amplifiers perform best at? Will they do well with 4-5v input voltage?

It's good that an amp does it's rated power on certified but I don't really care for certified because that's mostly sq builds most people clip a little bit so uncertified is what I like to see.
Also the amp draw you see on a dyno is not the same as a vehicle set up.
I can already see someone replying saying certified is absolute.
I lean more toward the SQ side. Your right, I like to see the variance between certified and dynamic. It lets you know if the amp has any gas left in the tank for musical peaks. As a general rule (imo) I like to see at least a 30% higher dynamic run. Pulling that much current it'd be really hard to do without proper charging.
Why couldn’t you run an electric motor from wall outlet and pulley it to turn alternators to run the dyno? Is there something I’m missing that would keep that from becoming a simply built setup?
Are full bridge amps like this usually lacking the low’s(20’s -30’s) compared to a half bridge of the same equivalent? I just watched the video explaining this and I wanted to see how true it was. Any input from somebody with experience or knowledge will be appreciated.

What about dual "2" ohm subs that are actually something like 1.4 ohms? Is that okay? That'd be .7ohms and I'd like to run this.
They don't want you to but I did mine on my 5k sfb and it played fine never over heated box rise will go back up to 1ohm
Does this amp need a load to tune it? I set my power with a multimeter usually but someone told me that the sfb 8k needs a load to work or it'll break if there isn't one.
I would love to tune this amp but I am not comfortable hooking up the speakers and then hooking the multimeter while the speakers are hooked up in order to tune it, even though I know I won't overpower my speakers or distort since I have a liumy oscilloscope+DMM.

I accidentally bought 2 ohm option of my fav brand of sub and was worried they may not preform well with the SFB 8k I had cause at 2 ohm the subs will be limited to 5000 watts from this 8k amp but if it can peak 6000 at 2 ohm it may still slap pretty hard.
Same thing with me. I had one sub wired at 1 ohm on 3500 watts and it was loud. I bought another dvc 2 ohm and wired them to 2 ohm @5,000 watts. New sub isn't broken in yet, but it doesn't have that punch that the single had. I smell nothing after slappin, the subs (2,000 RMS 4,000 peak) are just eating these watts for breakfast Lol

The SFB models are all full range amplifiers very capable of pushing mid & tweeters as well as subs.

I just ordered three stereo integrity SQL 12s rated at 1,000 Watts RMS would this amp over power them on a 2.67 load nominal they're in small sealed cabinets but still probably be around 4,500 Watts not sure they would be safe lol

@@thomass9099 Built-in cooling fan I hammer the ship out of it at 1 ohm.. My voltage is solid but I do abuse the krapp out of that amp and it works absolutely great and has not even gotten warm on me once

You can wire 4 subs that are DVC 2ohm to a 1ohm load or 4-SVC 4ohm subs
