@@UnofficialAudio always will , and as soon as I get up a few extra bucks I will be repairing my blown saz3500 v1 that burned a bunch of fets on the power supply side for no reason. I have used this amp for a long time and love it, it pushed my sa15rev2 nicely.

I am curious. While doing the dyno runs, why did you go from track 12 on the head unit to track 4 between the different ohm loads? What is the difference between the two tracks, and how does that affect the dyno.
Don’t ever get me wrong I love what you do and you’re good at it. Just D wiz gives a little more information that is important to us.

Have a question concerning the current draw on this amp. I've been using this amp for about 6 months now and it powered four Alpine swr-10d2 in a 2.4 cu ft sealed enclosure. When playing music and there was a bass track, my system voltage would drop to 10 volts or so. I have recently replaced these subs with four X8v3 with upgraded coils in a 2.9 cu ft ported box tuned to about 25hz. I have noticed that the current draw is significantly less. System voltage only drops to about 12.5 volts and that is only during an extended bass track. All of the speakers are dual 2 ohm wired in series than all four in parallel to present a 1 ohm load as before. Charging system has mechman 270 amp alternator and 2/0 power and ground. Just wondering if the lower power draw is normal for this amp when switching from a sealed box to a ported box. This is my first time using a ported box, have always been a diehard sealed box basshead until now.
What did you used to make it so you could get 4 power cords connected?

i'm more impressed by the SFB-3000's power.all the SFB's are nice little power houses. they pull a shit ton of current the charging system upgrade will cost more than the amp's lol
I am trying to decide between this and the Taramp 5000 smart bass.
Am curious as to what electrical is required to maintain 14.4v on this in order to get the watts you pay for?? 240a alt? 300a? Cap bank? Agm 3400's?? Anybody wanna give me a clue?

Bought a sfb5000 from their scratch and dent sale. Worked till it didn’t. 2 months. When I power it up, the clip light stays on with no input. Trouble shooted everything. Clip on W/ no protect light = dead. Running 2 x-15
On Willistons channel he did the same Dyno with same amp and it read 5781..my question is why such a big gap ❓ do these dynos need to be calibrated

Have you considered using a clamp meter to show current draw while testing the way Ryan and Big D do?
Yes and in some videos I have but it's kind of a pain with the clamp we have right now. Need one of those fancy remote display versions and then it'll be added to every video.

I bought the 5k and when I took it the thing play highs through my u 18. Can you show how to set the controls. No sub sonic.
Make sure your low pass filter is set properly. And subsonic should be set low.
I have a tech question as far as the low pass filter will any vocals come out of it when I put a sub on of any size on the this SFB amp with the low pass set all the way down to its lowest point thanks
This amp can be used as a sub amp utilizing the low pass crossover to only play sub frequencies.

Do both sides of the power terminals need to be connected or can I use just one of the negative and one of the positive terminals?
Run both. I own this amp, I have single runs (1/0 OFC) to each terminal (2 power, 2 ground) without any power issues at all. Makes the single Zv5 very happy.
Hey I have a question!!!! On the SFB 5000 there is only a single input RCA and a single output RCA. I have two RCA coming from head unit like most everyone does. I notice in this video you also have two RCA connected. Do I only use one for input or just plug in both? I’m lost!

The high pass filter is the subsonic filter on a full range like this.

Should have shown amp draw and did a run at 12volt just for comparison. I've seen some amps do rated RMS at 12 volts which means they are way under rated at 14volts .

Would have liked to see it doing about 2500 at 4 ohm and 4000 at 2 ohm........ It did well though . I like to find D class amp at around 13 cents a watt at the 2 ohm mark . So paying around 450.00 would be a great deal on this amp
But in reality we NEVER get 2 set price. No tells manufacturer what it should cost. If to much try Dual Audio at local Walmart!

What's the biggest sfb amp available? Need the salt 12k power but with the sfb price tag since I'm running a 1 ohm final
There's a sfb-13k in the works now then maybe even a sfb-20k later this year.

Don't run the SFB models under 1ohm. You would do better to run 2 amps @ 1.3ohms
I have this amp on 4 x8 v3s. All 4 subs read exactly the same on each coil, my question is why do they read 2ohm final load wired in series? They are dual 4ohm by the way

I’m not the one to perfectly explain impedance rise: but anytime you wire up subs you never get exactly what ohm load you are supposed to get. I have x15s d4s and they are d4. So I am wired to 1 ohm but with rise it’s more like 2 or 3 ohm. Search for videos on impedance rise and there are videos that better explain it
@@billycotham9272 it just seems wierd to me because I've had single, double and triple sub setups and they would ohm out close if not right on the dot. Once I went to to a four sub setup thats what messed with my noggin since the other setups didn't ohm out that high. (Within .2 on single double and triple....1 whole ohm on quad setup)
@@tonyv33ee are you testing the ohm at the speaker cup terminal? you could have some added resistance from the wires and your terminal or something. but yeah if you check the ohm on a multimeter with no power and just tap on the cone of the sub with your hand while doing so, the resistance will change even if its not getting power
Please make more videos. There’s no amp dynos anywhere of your SIA line (except one and that one did under the rated power 😱). Please dyno or send an amp to big D to dyno the sia 3500 and 5000

I’m pretty sure you have the better amp that you can run at .5ohm. (But not covered under warranty)
These SFB amps are not intended for less than 1 and Jacob was very adamant about it.

All I see are the SAE amps, so I started feeling like I got screwed, because I bought an amp at full price that seems to be outdated. I'm not saying that it is a bad amplifier, because it Shreds. It's like buying the 2019 Corvette Z06 with a V8, and then seeing a 2020 Corvette Z06 a month later with a new V12 motor. That doesn't exist, but I think you get the point. I was worried that the New and Improved SAE Amps would be much better at around the same price. 😉

Are these full bridge type amps more or less efficient power wise than the class d type? I guess what I mean is how strong does the vehicles electrical have to be since the average person probably only does a single auxiliary battery and maybe an alternator upgrade.
Depends on impedance its driving. They tend to be more efficient into a higher impedance load.
Also...a 5000w class d, such as this is, will draw 500 amps at full output. Be sure your electrical can support a 500A draw.
Any chance you could run this amp or the SFB3k with a D2(1.4ohm) Fi audio sub? It would be wired down to .7. I was always told that's not what the amp really sees, so I was thinking it would likely be at 1ohm or above while playing music and would be ok? I still have 2 other Sundown amps, the old SAX 125.2 and 125.4, and am looking into getting another sub amp after selling my others. I ran the sub before on an SAZ-1500 and an SCV-4000. I wanted to get an SCV-2k or 3k this time around, but noticed they're basically discontinued now.
Dont worry about dcr. If the sub is a D2 you'll be fine.

The problem I have with chinese built amps is the longevity. They can be 3 times the power but, if they only last acouple years its not a deal.
Does the mid/vocal sound quality change after a certain size amp? I have a 3k and im very impressed with how my mids sound on it. But im concerned that an 5k or 8k wont sound as good as the 3k. I know some other full range high power amps dont sound the same as their small models.
if you neeed 5 or 8 k on your mids you need to get your head checked
@@skateboardkid420I need a clean ~3k at 2.7 ohms. So a 8k would be good I think. Right now my 3k is wired to like .6 so I need to get the same power I have now but at a much higher impedance. So sfb 8k.

It was hot ... tight install and my fuses are underneath my enclosure platform, I know it’s not the smartest to have those fuses not readily accessible but hey
