I wish we had the options to add ingredients onto items here. For example, the mc crispy doesn't come with pickles and can't add them either. Whenever I need a quick bite when I'm out on the road, I like getting a simple hamburger and again love the pickle on there, but they put only one tiny one. I also would love to be able to add tomato or lettuce, the only bun that has some veggies is the mcPlant and im just not a fan of the aftertaste of that patty. Went there for breakfast maybe twice in my life, as im usually not near any mcDonalds for breakfast😅 but I do really like the blt muffin, however.... its even better with a chicken patty. I also prefer the chicken big mac over the beef, but would like it if there was a single patty version of it, as the patties they use for the chicken big mac, are thicck, they're not even round either. So eating that will be a huge mess 100% of the time 😅 It is good to hear our mcD overall is less greasy, has fewer kcal and not as many dangerous additives. As for the veggie options, they tried to force the vegetarian version of the mc-kroket on their customers here, by just taking the original off the menu. Dutch people were not happy 😅 the original is back 🙈 We used to have the little fried apple pie's, they were my favorite! Germany still has them, appfeltasche and they also had a blueberry version a while back, also very nice! We usually get mini apple pie's on their temporary winter menu items.

haha i think my voice and michelle’s voice are emphasized on the wrong sides. i’ll fix it for the next video. thanks for letting me know. i didn’t even notice it when editing!
When at McDonalds I either get a Big Mac or the quarter pounder. Back around in 2008 we had a CBO (chicken bacon union) for a short time. This is available in Belgium apparently and Germany? , well so now I then I go to Germany but haven't seen it on their menu. They have the crispy chicken but on a different long bun which make more sense then the round one we have over here.
Dutch ranch is called Slasaus (Salad-sauce), ask for it in the supermarket or look online! 👍🏻 But when i have a crave for some junk food, i prefer to go for a Döner Kebab or a Kapsalon and half of the times, i eat the Kapsalon with rice, sambal sauce and tomato onion sauce and THE garlic sauce for the meat of course! 😋✌🏼
I've always been a McChicken kind of guy, it's still my favorite sandwich from Macca's, but that McSpicy hit right where I needed it to. I'm also diabetic so the buns are usually something I ditch. I would take 2 McSpicies, ditch the buns and cut the patties into littles bites with some fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, etc. using the burger's sauce as dressing. Absolutely delicious and filling while not overloading me with carbs to spike my blood sugar. But alas, it's gone now. And the McChicken just doesn't hit the same way. So no salad-ification there, just a bunless McChicken.
You need taste the red berries, I think you would like them. I'd like to buy them at any market, and not at the supermarket. Just washnthe berries, then remove the berries from the stalk. And add sugar in increments, yoghurt is very nice with them.
It’s odd but they do mint tea using real mint leaves rather than a tea bag. It did confuse me as food was served at one desk, drinks and my appeltaart at another one. I bought a yellow cup so I don’t pay the tax when I reuse it.
Make your own salade with fresh sla , feta chees , green kiwi , snoop tomato's, cucumber and a thousand island dressing and have the chicken tenders aside. You have a great meal. Yes .. i think so too. Hashbrowns should be on the menu. Callories..WHY? I no they have to show it but, you are going to a fastfood restaurant!!!! When i saw Alex's face with the Mc plant, i think i will pass that one. Love the video. Well done. PS: frietsouce,frietsouce,fritouce,frtouce,fruoc...love it.🌷🌷🌷
there is one kind of "american frietsaus" that you can buy in the supermarket that comes so damn close to the mcdonalds sauce its scary asuming it isnt just straight up the same sauce (which i think it is)
i don't think snack bar burgers are very good... i'm sure there are some snack bars that have great burgers but in my experience, they're just pre-formed beef patties from a distributor with meh toppings. i'd rather get kroketten or a broodje frikandel speciaal at a snack bar. or fries (which are obviously exceptionally better at a snack bar versus mcdonald's, haha) edit- of course, mcdonald's burgers fit the exact description i just wrote about snack bar burgers, but i think nostalgia gets some points when it comes to the big mac
4:00 just check local cafetaria, and look for th eburger that has the name of the house.. These are by definition better then any poop McDo tries to feed you. Ask for Burgers of the House..
Personally I always found one thing the most fascinating about Dutch McDonalds: They don't serve beer. The ones at Germany, Belgium and France do serve beer, but not the Dutch ones. In some countries they even serve Heineken! I don't say I miss it, but it does seem fascinating to me.
If I actually get a burger at Mac, the big tasty is the only one I accept. But I generally skip the burgers and I get either kroket or fish. Or a wrap. For burgers, go to a real snackbar :)
I now what to go to a McDonald’s in the Netherlands, which is frustrating as I have just got back to the UK from there, and I am unlikely to return until next year at the earliest. I had a couple of days in Belgium too, and did note that not only do McDonald’s there not serve breakfast, but they didn’t open at all until 1100. The majority of stores here are open 24/7.
If you call them and order 100 big macs, they will say "sure get them at 7:30" at 7 am in the netherlands (been there, made that). Don't just order one when they open. Also do not complain about the taste of the first burgers. Apperantly nobody like the taste of burgers of a clean grill but they are the best you can have.
Mijn favorieten zijn: McChicken, Double cheeseburger en de McKroket :) maar niet te vaak, meestal onderweg langs de snelweg na een dagje uit bijvoorbeeld.
I like the Big Mac, but still prefer a Whopper. If I am a little hungry around dinner time and I eat a Big Mac, I'm hugry again within the hour, but not so much after I've eaten a Whopper which feeels like I have actually eaten a burger.
The patty on the egg mcmuffin is actually a different patty than the one on the big macs. The ones of the muffins are made from pigs and the ones of the other burgers are from cows. Also yeah you can order burgers all day. When i worked there, a guy came in every single day for years to buy a big tasty at 9 o'clock in the morning
On the breakfast menu is also the croissant, which is very floppy. To add insult to injury, they give wooden silverware which includes a blunt knife that's totally useless to cut the already uncutable croissant!
The McKroket was introduced because children kept asking for it, because they don't know (and like) any other fried snacks than kroketten and frikandellen. Last year, there was a temporary vegetarian McKroket, but it was withdrawn after only a few weeks. Reactions went from 'tastes like cardboard' to ' 'Woke' McDonalds is trying to push vegetarian menu options on us', because the beef McKroket wasn't available alongside the vegetarian one.
I don't belief that's entirely true. McDonalds first restaurant was a collaboration with Albert Heijn. On the opening day they already sold the mckroket, because people didn't know McDonalds yet, the kroket was a familiar thing for the customers. They also served peasoup, something you cant imagine anymore. Children did not ask for the mckroket, it's been on the Dutch menu since McDonalds set foot in Europe. Yes you read that right :) the McDonalds in Zaandam was the first McDonalds in Europe.
I used to work at McDonald's and when the veggie mckroket was released i got multiple complaints about "i didn't order a veggie" or stuff like that, but it didn't taste any different imo
@@jennaxolotl6275 The article I read was from RTL Nieuws, and it said that they had 1 fryer per restaurant for the Mckroket, and they were apparently not allowed to fry both versions in 1 fryer, so the beef version was temporarily not available. Is this true?
@@codex4048 That is not entirely correct. The McKroket was on the menu of the first McDonalds in Zaandam, but it disappeared after only a few years. It was re-introduced in 1999, and THEN it was said they did this because families with especially little children didn't go to McDonalds because they didn't have the well-known Dutch fried snacks they have in a regular snackbar. One of my cousins still doesn't go there because his children only want frikandellen, which McDonalds doesn't have.
@@ilex471 i mean, we were not allowed to fry veggie or fish in the same fryer as meat, so they both had separate fryers, but I'm not sure if that was why the original wasn't available
I visit a McDonalds maybe 1 or 2 times a year, when on a day trip and need some food fast. Always the same: McChicken Deluxe. I prefer a local frituur when I want some really tasty frites to eat. And it will cost me a little bit less and the hunger is really gone. With a McDonalds meal the hunger's back in like 15 or 20 minutes. 🤔 My local frituur makes almost every dish (stoofvlees, vol au vent, balletjes in tomatensaus,..) itself and that is really a decent hunger killing meal!
the only thing you need to pack and take with you from our mcdonalds is our fries sauce, sadly all the bread got replaced with the dry brown ones you see in the video, it used to be way better and you can still get the good stuff over in germany.
As seasoned travellers we've had our fair share of McD/BK (AUS Happy Jack) all over the world. My wife prefers the Mac food, I'm more of a BK person. Their beyond meat burger is wow (I prefer vegetarian food). Another plus for BK is their spicy choices. Me likey. McD in the States is horrible, both in food and in service. PS: the Big Mac in the US has a different, dilly, kind of pickles, while in Europe they use sweet&sour pickles
Last time I was at a McDonalds was 2008, and that was for a coffee. The time before that in 2006, the time before that 1996. I'd rather go to a Verhage, Bram Ladage or some other good chip shops.
I used to like BK more than McD, because they used to have proper buns on their long chicken sandwiches. But now it's almost the same as McD style buns. Which is just a tasteless bit of "bread-like substance"
I loved seeing what it looked like all the different types of McDonalds food you took with you. I don't go often, but mostly take the usual stuff at McDonalds. Keep wondering what 'large' means @4:50 ?
@buncharted there are 7 meatless "burger" items on the menu also there is salad with meatless chicken. Not strictly vegetarian though as they can be made on the same grill or fryer.
Ive been all around the Netherlands and ive seen only a few Burger Kings. (like 3 or 4 in total in major cities) McDonald's is litterly everywhere. There are 4 McDonald's in Breda alone. And thats not even close to our biggest city.
Dutch McDonald's fries have 15+ ingredients according to the website perhaps that's why they taste the same. McDonald's in some countries just are just 3 ingredients
2:53 I live 5 minutes away from a McDonalds, but I hardly go there, only for a drink or so, or a Quarterpounder or McKroket, but these are priced higher and higher. The local cafetaria serves better and healthier food, and it also fills better, after 1 hour and ate MCDo.. I get hungry again.. and they add a butload of salt on everything. The bigmag is just stale bread with two shoesoles and a bunch of rabbitfood, BurgerKing jas also better quality, atleast here in north East Netherlands, Wish we could trade the McDo for a BurgerKing, that be awesome!
Big Disagree: The Big Tasty is definitely the best burger at McD's over here! But you cannot account for taste ^^ When they had the Veggie McKroket, it was actually better than the regular McKroket imo! So agree on the veggie menu being pretty decent
@@buncharted ye, it was quite a few years ago, but it was legit. I hope they bring it back also... might be ordering some McD's right now, and I do blame you two!
Why doesn't anyone talk about what they did to the Big Mac?! This isn't the Big Mac we used to have. They've ruined it. A couple of years ago (2021) they changed so much, including the bun and the onions. It just doesn't taste like a Big Mac anymore! It had a nice smushy bun, fatty patties and lots of flavour. It used to be my favourite fastfood chain burger (closely rivaled by the Whopper), but now it has become my least favourite. I'd take a Smullers or Febo burger over a Big Mac now... that's saying a lot! And the Whopper now just leaves it in the dust. Now the buns feel too firm, dry, and have this burned taste to them. Where's my smushy, doughy, fatty Big Mac?!
I think it would taste beter if you eat it at the restaurant itself so it's warm and fresh/crunchy. By the way, are you the sister of that guy of the channel Action Lab?
Tried the mckroket this summer, never again. Go to the local snackbar and get a real broodje kroket, so much better. (same goes for the burger and fries) The only things I tend to eat from mcd are crispy mcchicken honey mustard burger and the chicken wraps also honey mustard. Those double stacked burgers tend to reshape in a giant mess. Breakfast menu you have to be there before 11, they unfortunately do not have those items till lunch(break) time. haha i think my voice and michelle’s voice are emphasized on the wrong sides. i’ll fix it for the next video. thanks for letting me know. i didn’t even notice it when editing!
But when i have a crave for some junk food, i prefer to go for a Döner Kebab or a Kapsalon and half of the times, i eat the Kapsalon with rice, sambal sauce and tomato onion sauce and THE garlic sauce for the meat of course! 😋✌🏼
Jumbo and AH also sell ranch on import, so it's expensive
i havent been to the mcdonalds in quite a while, i didnt know the stroopwafel mcflurry was back???? i gotta go to mcd tomorrow i guess
McWrap honey mustard is always a good bet here
Hash browns totally would do well here. The closest thing I know here is rösti, which you can get from the freezer section of albert heijn.
I'm Dutch and living in the Netherlands, but I am a big McRib fan. (only sold in Germany)
Missed out on the honey mustard wrap - 100% best item at McD
You need taste the red berries, I think you would like them. I'd like to buy them at any market, and not at the supermarket. Just washnthe berries, then remove the berries from the stalk. And add sugar in increments, yoghurt is very nice with them.
why add sugar at all?
we did! we used them in yogurt bowls. they’re sooooo tart!
@@jwenting it depends on where the berries are grown, some of them are sour squared.
It’s odd but they do mint tea using real mint leaves rather than a tea bag. It did confuse me as food was served at one desk, drinks and my appeltaart at another one. I bought a yellow cup so I don’t pay the tax when I reuse it.
Mc Spicy sure needs a permanent place on the MD menu 🫡.
Well done. PS: frietsouce,frietsouce,fritouce,frtouce,fruoc...love it.🌷🌷🌷
I haven't had Mcdonalds since 2018 and this really makes me want to have some. I really miss the fries.
there is one kind of "american frietsaus" that you can buy in the supermarket that comes so damn close to the mcdonalds sauce its scary asuming it isnt just straight up the same sauce (which i think it is)
I love McD but love BK more. From where i live the closest BK is like 30 km away and McD is like 5 km drive.
I love the “I’m not going to McDonald’s for a kroket, I go to a real place”, but you do get burgers instead of going to a real snackbar…
i don't think snack bar burgers are very good...
i'm sure there are some snack bars that have great burgers but in my experience, they're just pre-formed beef patties from a distributor with meh toppings. i'd rather get kroketten or a broodje frikandel speciaal at a snack bar. or fries (which are obviously exceptionally better at a snack bar versus mcdonald's, haha)
edit- of course, mcdonald's burgers fit the exact description i just wrote about snack bar burgers, but i think nostalgia gets some points when it comes to the big mac
I dont like McDonalds, but the McKroket 😍😍😍
Red Fruit is usually a mix of red berries, black berries and raspberries.
You are talking about forest fruits (bosvruchten).
Forest fruits are a mix of blackcurrent, blackberry, raspberry, red berry and blueberry.
4:00 just check local cafetaria, and look for th eburger that has the name of the house.. These are by definition better then any poop McDo tries to feed you. Ask for Burgers of the House..
I LOVE the McMuffins. The OG with bacon, egg and cheese. I started to make them at home a couple of years ago. Delicious.
where do you get the english muffins??
@@buncharted I make them myself 😂 ua-cam.com/video/K4R6ODBEj-Y/v-deo.html
The red berry you’re talking about it are ‘aalbessen’. I don’t think red fruit is fixed name, it could be a mix of any of the red to purple berries
Personally I always found one thing the most fascinating about Dutch McDonalds: They don't serve beer. The ones at Germany, Belgium and France do serve beer, but not the Dutch ones.
In some countries they even serve Heineken! I don't say I miss it, but it does seem fascinating to me.
I didn't see any beer at the Mac in Belgium.
If I actually get a burger at Mac, the big tasty is the only one I accept. But I generally skip the burgers and I get either kroket or fish. Or a wrap.
For burgers, go to a real snackbar :)
You look like a "Wendy's" while tasting McDonald's
Lol, had the same reaction😂
There is a sauce close too mc mayo. It is called Madsauce.
You forgot to compare the portion sizes to that in the States. A large fry in NL is SOOO much smaller.
ahh you’re right
we’ve been here too long 😂
If you call them and order 100 big macs, they will say "sure get them at 7:30" at 7 am in the netherlands (been there, made that). Don't just order one when they open. Also do not complain about the taste of the first burgers. Apperantly nobody like the taste of burgers of a clean grill but they are the best you can have.
If you want Hash Browns go to the supermarket and buy Rösti. Awesome video as always!
Well they have to be sure it's the correct one there's two types
You can get the tendies in the US too! :)
McDonald's in Netherlands used to have hash browns in the past. But they eventually got rid of it. No idea why though.
5 years ago a mckroket was €1 used to be worth it to go to the Mcdonalds.haven't been there in years. Local snackbar is the best.
McDonald's in the Netherlands is also one of the few none English speaking countries, that kept the name Quarter pounder
I had the Mcdonalds hash browns in Portugal once. Wish we had them here! They were so good🤤
Mijn favorieten zijn: McChicken, Double cheeseburger en de McKroket :) maar niet te vaak, meestal onderweg langs de snelweg na een dagje uit bijvoorbeeld.
Can you share a little bit more detail on your recipe for the home made McGriddle (met Suikerbrood)?
Would like to try that myself 👨🏼🍳
we just folded some scrambled eggs, some spek, and some “burger cheese” on two slices of suikerbrood that we toasted together like a tosti :)
@@buncharted Thanks, looks like I know my Sunday morning breakfast
I like the Big Mac, but still prefer a Whopper. If I am a little hungry around dinner time and I eat a Big Mac, I'm hugry again within the hour, but not so much after I've eaten a Whopper which feeels like I have actually eaten a burger.
The patty on the egg mcmuffin is actually a different patty than the one on the big macs. The ones of the muffins are made from pigs and the ones of the other burgers are from cows.
Also yeah you can order burgers all day. When i worked there, a guy came in every single day for years to buy a big tasty at 9 o'clock in the morning
the “mcmuffin beef and egg” i believe is made with beef :) they used to have a sausage mcmuffin but it’s no longer an option on the menu
One day they'll sell the fritessaus in America as 'Dutch fries sauce' LOL
On the breakfast menu is also the croissant, which is very floppy. To add insult to injury, they give wooden silverware which includes a blunt knife that's totally useless to cut the already uncutable croissant!
@@theblackhand6485 I want it in between!
They gave you a UA-camr portion of fries. I have never seen the box so full.
My local frituur makes almost every dish (stoofvlees, vol au vent, balletjes in tomatensaus,..) itself and that is really a decent hunger killing meal!
the only thing you need to pack and take with you from our mcdonalds is our fries sauce, sadly all the bread got replaced with the dry brown ones you see in the video, it used to be way better and you can still get the good stuff over in germany.
PS: the Big Mac in the US has a different, dilly, kind of pickles, while in Europe they use sweet&sour pickles
yeah, dill pickles i don’t think are super common here which is strange given the dill-forward fritessaus
Last time I was at a McDonalds was 2008, and that was for a coffee. The time before that in 2006, the time before that 1996. I'd rather go to a Verhage, Bram Ladage or some other good chip shops.
Say you’re from Rotterdam without saying you’re from Rotterdam 💚🤍💚
I used to like BK more than McD, because they used to have proper buns on their long chicken sandwiches. But now it's almost the same as McD style buns. Which is just a tasteless bit of "bread-like substance"
I'm only upset they got rid of the Mc Salade Shaker! :-( (waaay before your time buncharted)
we had that in the US! def one of our favorites too
It was DELICIOUS!
@@buncharted Aha, didn't realise that was available in the US too
I loved seeing what it looked like all the different types of McDonalds food you took with you. I don't go often, but mostly take the usual stuff at McDonalds. Keep wondering what 'large' means @4:50 ?
😂😂😂
The McKroket is still my favorite kind of Kroket.
Your little neon signs in the back are in stock for a nice price at the action.
Must admit like BigMac’s and McNuggets a lot. There are approximately 255 (2021) McDonalds in the Netherlands and 62 BurgerKing’s (2021) 😊
You guys rock!! make a video of Burger King stuff
we don’t like burger king though 🫣
Hash browns are cald patatopancakes or rösti
I think the fritessaus KINDA task like american tartar sauce
Coming from the Netherlands it was quite a shock going to a McDonald's in California and not having *any* vegetarian options.
i know, it’s crazy!
7* om precies te zijn😮
Isn't the crushed ice also used in slushy in the Netherlands?
Its the same ice used in the frappé's and iced smoothies, but there its mixed and crushed
Get _rösti_ at AH for your hash browns! (AH brand or Aviko which is slightly better)
We've got rösti's what is Swiss. I think you could compare it to a hashbrown
In the States I once got a coke that tasted of chlorine, due to the water that was used, maybe?
Big Disagree: The Big Tasty is definitely the best burger at McD's over here! But you cannot account for taste ^^
When they had the Veggie McKroket, it was actually better than the regular McKroket imo! So agree on the veggie menu being pretty decent
they had a veggie mckroket?! oh man that would be good
@@buncharted ye, it was quite a few years ago, but it was legit. I hope they bring it back
also... might be ordering some McD's right now, and I do blame you two!
Well, it has changed several times over the years, I think... or it is our taste and memory that has changed it.
They also changed the sauce, it used to be way better
I think it would taste beter if you eat it at the restaurant itself so it's warm and fresh/crunchy. By the way, are you the sister of that guy of the channel Action Lab?
I miss the hot apple pie a.k.a. appelloempia we could get in the West. Never seen that in NL.
Tried the mckroket this summer, never again. Go to the local snackbar and get a real broodje kroket, so much better. (same goes for the burger and fries)
The only things I tend to eat from mcd are crispy mcchicken honey mustard burger and the chicken wraps also honey mustard.
Those double stacked burgers tend to reshape in a giant mess.
Breakfast menu you have to be there before 11, they unfortunately do not have those items till lunch(break) time. Rather have a bacon and egg mcmuffin for lunch than a burger, missed chance.
