We are a family of 6 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! We love spending time together as a family, having fun, learning through homeschooling, growing in our faith, and building our forever home! that’s that’s the best part is watching the children open their gifts that’s my favorite part. I love to see the little kids open the gifts. Make precious memories guys do it for the children. I hope they watch these videos when they get older and they see all the precious memories that you guys made for them.
My family used to play the swap game 😊. As I get older and members of my family have gone to be with the Lord, I cherish the memories. Nice video ❤✝️

Merry Christmas!! When my children were younger Christmas Eve, they had to put a play on for illustrating what Christmas meant to them.
Christmas was hard for my family this year, my grandma died December 11th after a somewhat lengthy illness that started right after thanksgiving, but the thing that kept us going was knowing she is gonna be with her lord and savior and she was ready to go! She was 95 yrs old we had her funeral yesterday which was bittersweet, seeing a lot of family I don’t see often. Our tradition is on Christmas Eve we would watch The Nativity Story. The biggest blessing is that my mom’s folks spent Christmas with us and took me back to their place til my grandma’s funeral on my dad’s side. Happy Holidays and God Bless!
Our Christmas tradition for the past 37 years ... 1) read the Christmas story from The Seamless Bible which we read starting at Chapter 1 (Luke 1: 1, The Great Announcement) all the way through Chapter 3 (The Protected Childhood, Luke 2:52). Then we open presents. Your game at your Mom & Dad's looks like a real fun time. What a nice big group you guys had gathered together.
It was so nice to see Lance & Jessica in this. We've loved each and every Vlogmas.

We had a bit different Christmas this year since my step-dad passed away 2 days after Christmas last year, it was rough. It was ok but not the same. My daughter & I play games on Christmas eve.

We opened our gifts with our boys on Christmas Eve this year instead of Christmas Day and I actually liked it better. Now that they are getting older it just worked so we’ll do it again next year too.

What a beautiful table your mom set, Burt! I understand the challenge you faced...my mom passed away last January of cancer and my Dad is facing his own cancer battle now. So important to be together and enjoy the family time which is the most cherished gift. It was a good Christmas here though I missed my Mom, I felt appreciation for my blessings. It looked like a wonderful time for you all too.

Your family is such a blessing to mine. We watch and remember our children growing up and all the "things". They are now 21(our son) and 24(our daughter) and still love our Christmas traditions. Our son is getting married in July and we are so excited to welcome a new family member and make new memories next year. Thanks for reminding us that things change and change can be awesome! Even as empty nesters for 17 years we have an advent calendar on the eve of Christmas we watch The Nativity movie and open one gift. We have a spread of our favorite deli meats and cheeses and all kinds of goodies

Think of this...every day the Somers know there will be snow about in Alaska. I live in NYC. We hope there will be no snow (ever) because of the inconvenience ...snow makes in an urban setting. I love every video you make. I respect all the effort and hard work it is to live in Alaska, where you are. Some of our Christmas Eve traditions are, going to church, Birthday cake with singing for Jesus, matching Christmas jammies and watching The Nativity Story a great movie of the Christmas story. I highly recommend it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

For Christmas eve we always open one gift 🎁 and play a family game. This year we taught the 2 youngest boys to play Trouble. It's a favorite in our house. We also always talk about what a special day Christmas is and the true story behind Christmas. Each of my boys love talking about what they have learned and talk about Jesus and his glory. Our Christmas Eve was extremely different this year and Christmas just wasn’t the same, I hosted but since losing quite a few family members last year, it was a hard year. Just means next year we will celebrate so much more. Thank you for your vlogs, I feel like I know your family even though we have never met. Blessings for a happy and healthy safe new year.

Thanks for the video. We go to Christmas Eve Mass. Then we head to my Mom's house where we have dinner and gifts with my Dad's side of the family. Christmas Day, it's back to Mom's to spend it with her side. She is 83 and still cooks, bakes cookies and makes candy and decorates for the holidays.

We do a Happy Birthday Jesus Cake. We sing Happy Birthday and then open the gifts from the family. The cake has to be special and it must be homemade. Usually once the children were old enough they helped make it.
