I was a little apprehensive given the Cesar Trilogy is close to perfect, but Kingdom feels like a solid advancement. It also reminds me of the original 1968 film, especially with the shots of the beach and field. I'm excited.
yeah there doesnt seem to be a lot of people picking up on it but i believe the woman is the astronaut. shes the only human in regular clothes and seems to bring noah to some kind of space center
This looks so good, and I can't wait to watch it in theaters. I think the main character Noa is a direct decendant of Ceasar, like a 6-times great grandson. The last film had me in angry tears, so I'm ready to cry again. 🐵
Thanks for reacting to Kingdom of the planet of the apes . I adore the reboot trilogy Rise, Dawn and War with Andy Serkis as Caesar. These are my top 3 movies in cinematic history. It’s sad that they are also criminally unappreciated and underrated by other people. When I heard about this movie getting made i was a little skeptical . I just couldn’t figure out how it would work without Andy Serkis as Caesar but after watching the official trailer for Kingdom I actually love it and can’t wait for it to hit cinemas in the UK. I’m from Scotland. I already have a fave ape it’s Noa the chimp with the eagle who says hunting humans is wrong. He reminds me so much of Caesar. I might be wrong and i know this film takes place 300 years after War but what if Noa is a descendant of Caesars? What if Cornelius had a kid and that kid had a kid etc etc right up to Noa and going right back to Caesars line that would be epic but it’s just my thoughts. I also love the little call backs to the reboot trilogy with Caesars window symbol behind the kings throne etc. So looking forward to it. Take care 😘🏴 #ApesTogetherStrong❤️
I believe this might be taking place maybe 100 yrs before the crash landing of the Liberty1 (Icarus) spacecraft. In the original story, A total of five Liberty ships were built and sent to the stars. A crew of four in the Icarus were sent to a distant star travelling at near lightspeed. The crew entered hibernation for the twelve months for the total of an eighteen month trip. But three months into hibernation, The Icarus collided with another Liberty ship and automatically changed course back to Earth, but were propelled 2000 yrs into the future. The fourth crew member was MaryAnn Stewart. Originally, her pod malfunctioned soon after entering hibernation. The young woman we see in this trailer is wearing a torn t-shirt and tactical pants. Not animal hides. She could be the forth crew member somehow sent back in an escape pod after the collision, or the only remaining survivor of the crew of other Liberty ship, but arrives way sooner than the Icarus. Just a theory. How cool would that be.
A quick reminder the director of this was chosen by Nintendo and Sony for the Legend of Zelda movie. So if he can handle this well, that's a good starting point.
I do wonder how far they'll go with this series. Will we eventually get to Late-stage Capitalism of the Planet of the Apes, where the apes advance enough to create computers and NFTs then create 'Bored Humans' which they sell to one another?
Can someone remind me what effects had that virus on humans - was it that they just cant speak, but are still at least almost as intelligent as before, or it affected whole brain (not just speach parts) and in current movie time they are closer to "clever animals"?
The virus mutated to infect the remaining human survivors who were immune to the previous version of the virus. Instead of killing them the new version attacks the speech center of the brain, rendering humans mute. Their intelligence is not affected, but they appear more dumb because due to the loss of speech, knowledge on how to build technology could not be passed down orally to future generations and now humans have forgotten how to build everything that made them the dominant species on Earth. They're basically caveman again.
They did say she is smarter than the rest of the humans. She may have higher iq or have the ability to speak. Probably the only one who was not influenced by the mutated virus.
This movie is gonna be bananas!

I think the 'nuke worshipping' was Beneath the Planet of the Apes. I remember that having some sort of doomsday element.
