Idk what it is but watching this trailer made me VERY emotional. Once he said, "Hunting humans is wrong" I literally burst into tears lol. This movie looks spectacular.
As someone who has watched all 9 Planet Of The Apes movies, & I have noticed that the 3 Andy Serkis movies are essentially reboots of the 3rd, 4th, & 5th Roddy McDowall movies; Rise (2011) is Escape (1971), Dawn (2014) is Conquest (1972), & War (2017) is Battle (1973). This trailer for Kingdom makes me hopeful that we will get modern day reboots of the Original (1968) & Beneath (1970) as well.
i feel like at the end of this we are gonna see the rocket re enter, they have been teasin details abt the shuttle that left earth since the first Rise movie of Andy
This takes place 300 years after the events of War and it is cool to see that since Matt Reeves said in previous interviews during the promotion of that he always wanted to explore other ape colonies outside of Caesar’s. Am curious if they might possibly introduce the mutants as well since in War, Woody Harrelson’s battalion was called the Alpha & Omega which is a reference to the mutants in Beneath and a leaked synopsis says that the villain Proximus Caesar (self appointed the Caesar part) is searching for human technology beneath the earth’s surface, especially since we have yet to see William H. Macy in both trailers.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes must be one of THE BEST sequels I have EVER seen. It's easily in my top 10 movies of all time. LOVED that one and super hyped for this movie.
I think Noa’s character is going to represent the good that comes from intelligence and Proximus’ character is going to represent the bad that also comes from intelligence.
To answer your question about the ethnicity/ race/ lack of pigment/melanin of the humans, specifically Freys Allan’s character. This is just a guess but I’m assuming by the way she’s dressed (pants and tank top and not dressed like Jane/ Tarzan) and the hints at space (telescope, the planets/solar system model), that’s she’s Charleston Hestons character from the very first film. There’s an Easter egg in the first film of a space launch. I’m guessing she’s one of the astronauts. There also looks like there’s a blend of tanned skin tones of the “local” folks. Normally I’d be on my Ice Cube/ Public Enemy Burn Hollywood Burn soap box BUT I think you might’ve jumped the gun on this one.
Let's talk about it! Even in the original the humans were darker skinned. I know it's not really important but that's kinda weird. Glad i wasn't the only one that noticed that lol. Anyway I'm pumped for this movie. Noah looks so much like Caesar and Proximus Caesar looks so menacing. 10s across the board.
i think it depends on how many people from each ethnicity survived...because they obviously had to mix to continue the human race...which means one of the ethnicity had to dominate and it just got lost in generations...the light skin could be because im sure they were hiding most of their lives so they didnt have much sun
What if this girl you’re seeing is the Charleston Heston character and was on the space ship from the original and returned from space hence seeing the planets scene. Think about that. This movie takes place 300 years after Caesar to answer your question.
Jabby, i like the way you think, sir, and your question just made me want to have a discussion & get your perspective on a specific topic i think you might understand. The movie does look good, though, I'm excited to see it!
I really believe this movie is going to be about the apes unlocking the secrets of the past and them finding out humans didn’t live harmoniously with apes like they thought, but actually once oppressed and abused them. But this I believe is going to be what motivates Noa to try and stop apes persecuting humans so that they don’t repeat history. Like Caesar I think Noa will understand that in order to be a higher species you must be better than the ones who mistreated you. I’m so excited for this movie I can’t wait!
Jaby Back in late 60's, original movies came out, Taylor and crew went thru time to Earth of the future. Apes hunted and captured humans. Most of the apes didn't of Earth's past history of humans and apes. Then like newer movies, storylines reveal the plot. I am curious about this one. Is Caesar still in power? I see apes are hunting humans. I am curious if next few movies will have a version of Taylor (Charlton Heston) with crew traveling thru space and time to future Earth like the original.
That's what came to my mind when I saw that woman in normal clothing. If they reveal she can talk then that would confirm it to me but she could also be from a human city that is still using some modern knowledge.
I love that weather the protagonist ape character knows it or not, him saying "NO TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG!" in the same way Ceasar brought the apes together with that same sentiment of "apes together STRONG!" is pretty dope..especially thst know it's not just apes together but ALL of us together apes and humans alike timing together what im assuming will be the protagonist overall point of " we are all the same, we were once like them and just because the situation is reversed does not mean we need to treat them like they used to treat us!" As well as the whole "history is doomed to repeat itself if we don't learn from our past" and it transcends species.
This is 300 yrs later. I believe this might be taking place maybe 100 yrs before the crash landing of the Liberty1 (Icarus) spacecraft from the first movie with Charlton Heston, The Planet of the Apes (1968). In the original story, A total of five Liberty ships were built and sent to the stars. A crew of four in the Icarus were sent to a distant star travelling at near lightspeed. The crew entered hibernation for twelve months for a total of an eighteen month trip. But three months into hibernation, The Icarus collided with another Liberty ship and automatically changed course back to Earth, but were propelled 2000 yrs into the future. The fourth crew member was MaryAnn Stewart. Originally, her pod malfunctioned soon after entering hibernation. The young woman we see in this trailer is wearing a torn t-shirt and tactical pants. Not animal hides. I know her name is Maye in this movie. But she could be the forth crew member somehow sent back in an escape pod after the collision, or the only remaining survivor of the crew of other Liberty ship, but arrives way sooner than the Icarus.
Jadd J.A.D.D. Jadd It says a lot in a matter of short time with philosophy and questioning the things in the world. This franchise has always channelled it.
War for the Planet of the Apes kinda answered your question about how humans devolved. In "War" there was another side effect of the virus that made the apes smart and killed most of humanity: people started to lose their ability to speak. It may have had other detrimental effects to the brain capacity as well.
7:47 I think it would be like when in Rome that library with vast knowledge of technological wonders was burnt down, and we had to start from scratch. To get to where we are now.
My favourtie Planet of the Apes movie is Beneath the Planet of the Apes.I find that it has brought a very original idea to a classic story. The chracters have more depth, history to them. I cannot wait for Kingdom because the trailer made me think of Benath. Thanks for the reacttion. Cheerio!

It's not the story of Caesar's son it's set in futuret 300 years. I am also speculating that this movie taking inspiration from Mark Wahlberg movie because the lead female actress costume is completely different from other humans and she smart too.
I like the 14 episodes of the TV show that we’re done and I also like the animated series but I like all five the original films, and there was nothing wrong with those. They didn’t need to be remade, but I even like the remix.
The reference of what would happen if a blackout happened and the power never came back on...makes me think of the old TV show Revolution that came on TV in 2012 but only ran for 2 seasons. They showed how we evolved without power and it was scary but soooo good and it just made ypu think...what if? Funny how movies and TV shows can just make you stop and look around and realize just how good we really do have it right now...cause it could all come down in a blink of a eye...
Im pretty excited for Kingdom of the planet of the apes. I think it looks good. I was a little concerned before the first trailer came out, but I think it looks like they really tried to make a sequel worthy to the trilogy. Also War For the Planet of the Apes is my favorite.
Well that girl, there might be more to her than meets the eye. Remember where Planet of the Apes started from, they said she was smarter than normal, look at her clothes.
I think she’s an astronaut like in the original planet of the apes movie because in dawn they said on the news a space ship disappeared so she could be the new astronaut that landed back on earth
“War For The Planet of the Apes” is my favorite because it finally explained how the humans became the animals by “the virus” mutating aka put (COVID-19) metaphor here. This franchise is so underrated as so well written! Matt Reaves direction and with writing partner Mark Bomback was the other secret to this franchise other than Andy Serkis! I hope the new directors and writers can live up to what came before. In this movie or the next they can finally catch up to the Carlton Heston movie in timeline! That would be so cool!
And like in any plague situation as we learn with Mae some humans were immune and retained their faculties but hide them in fear of both apes and their dumber human counterparts as they would probably kill her as well as they would see her as the enemy as an ape literally. Keep in mind that it will never be the exact same as the original 1968 movie as even the origin story is different as these are literally LZH retrovirus created hybrids which is why they are changing so fast within just a few centuries 300 years. So in 3 more centuries they would catch up to the events in the original movie but everything still plays out very differently with the virus being their creator and their Alpha And Omega in this iteration of the franchise as it will just keep mutating and wreaking havoc on the general biology of this planet.
It seems to have been overlooked by most, so far, but the human girl being hunted is wearing different clothes than all the other humans shown in the trailer! Her clothes, while worn and tattered, look much more modern. I'm thinking, there could be a time travel element to this entry into the 'Planet of the Apes' franchise. If you're new to the POA franchise... don't freak out. Time travel has ALWAYS been part of this story, back to the very first movie!!
Honestly it could just be a region thing when it comes to people being a specific skin color, if its in the u.s, it makes snese since the majority population is white, that being said, how long has it been exactly
We can be at that level of living primitive in about 3-5 years! Or one 20 year generation at the maximum time it would take. If the power grid gets fried or iced up, yep it won't take long at all. That is the scary part!
Hahahaha that's a very out of the box yet truthful question! Be they whatever ethnic background, European, Asian, etc, humans here would surely all be incredibly tan from spending life out in the sun. Our modern paler skins come from the ability of being able to hide from the sun, something noble classes first enjoyed But if we are all basically animals in the wild, we wouldn't all walk around pale hahaha
On the woman her clothing looks new/modern vs the other is primitive clothing. Ppl saying either A. She is part of the team of astronauts that disappeared back in the first movie (there was a news broadcast of it in one scene) and return, something happened that affected/suppressed her intelligence similar to primitive humans and the ape king wants her either knowledge she may know or kill her. B. Simpler is bunker where humans lived in for long time, she got out for whatever reason and similar case on intelligence hindered. C. Or whatever bs they can think of for all we know if they go full nuts on it then time travel or something. If anything A. Maybe most likely. If so then for sure this is a separate timeline. If never seen the first original movie astronauts return to earth to see humanoid apes ruling and humans are savages. He thought they ended up on another planet but near end when he saw stature of liberty half buried he realizes this is earth, they been gone for a LONG time and horror kicks in on what humankind did and screwed up.
@@maverickstanding5733 for what? the dawn of the planet of the apes or the original old one? if the first part by now they seen that movie if they care about this trailer and the other films from the modern trilogy. either they know the astronaut news thing or forgot about it. if on the latter the odds of them seeing it either free time or reaction wise is slim, especially reacting on it if its not gonna garner enough views to care to reactr, edit and upload the damn thing. if you or others @#$$! on spoilers due to you havnt seen it then sorry but (leans in) the @#$!ing movie is about 55 years old now. it existed that long, its on multiple places to view be legally or illegally.
if somehow your complaining on the astronaut news scene from dawn of the planet of the apes then i have to ask this: what the @#$! are you doing here then? ppl only view this to see FANS OF THE MODERN TRILOGY view the trailer of the next possible trilogy continuing from the previous one. if somehow you dont know that scene then odss are you never see nthe movie. if so wtf are you doing here and complaining on spoiilers? @#$! off and go see the movie yourself. if agree on the old 50+ year old spoilers then that aint my problem lil bud. again @#$! off and go see the movie yourseld with how much time ya got. you a 11 year old yt account (assuming the avg age of a person that makes a yt account your at minimum early 20s) been on internet long enough to know the structure of this stuff. so all i can say is crawl out of that rock bud.
I used to be a non-union makeup artist, in the 1980s. I did mostly things like Coppertone, Solarcaine, Holiday Inn commercials and industral films but, did work on a few television shows, movies and projects, though I only got credit, when I did casting on a made for T.V. movie. My comment is this. While I appreciate the advancement in technology, they revised "Planet of the Apes" movies, lack something that the originals had. The humanity of evolution of the apes. When they used practical makeup effects, you saw the human part of the apes which, to me, was a big part of the characters of the apes. I mean. they are supposed to be evolved but, they producers of the new series of movies are so excited about the new technology, they ignore that point. Just an observation and, btw, I love your reviews.
It's a bit silly for orangutans and gorillas to evolve into a human stature with a orangutan/gorilla head I think that the original movie did spectacularly with the technology available to them and their cosmetic work is timeless given it still looks good today But we have the technology, it is of my personal opinion that giving apes their natural appearance is more in tandem with the story. They got smarter by a drug that permanently altered their brain wiring. They did take some creative liberities like making all apes talk when they lack the physiology for human speech, what (I hope) they're aiming for with these movies is to make a prequel saga that ends with the original movie of an advanced ape civilization, where apes behave pretty much like humans in all aspects. These movies aren't just CGI. These movies are spectacullar also thanks to Andy Circis and his motion capture work for Caesar. He gave real human emotion to the ape character, while still being a chimpanzee
Something about the apes talking like people eliminates the brilliance of the Serkis PotA trilogy. There you could see the gradual battle of evolution, apes slowly emerging like humans did from their primal, bestial past , but now just dubbing cgi apes with human voices, it feels cartoony and uncanny somehow.
Just like before, not all apes will speak fluently, Caesar spoke, but apes like maurice barely spoke outside gestures. This major antagonist ape leader speaks fluently, taking central role, but most of the rest will probably be more silent followers with some rudimentary vocabulary.
Can people have fun and enjoy a good movie and not overly question and nitpick things!? Remember we used to go to the movies for escapism not like we're giving a thesis in a college course on filmmaking?
They are not. Though Jaby once considered it, but Achara said Never as she thinks it could affect their professional life if they broke up or had fights as they work together. It could affect their channels. How I know this? Coz they put out a whole Video of how them being together is never gonna happen, in their Indian channel "Cinedesi".
Yeah that's the thing that kind of got me How did humans even generations later digress and become like cavemen again? How did they forget to speak and communicate with language?
It was shown in the earlier movies that the virus makes the apes smarter and makes humans regress. Most humans are probably like nova from war for the planet of the apes.
As time went on, people became immune to the virus which whipped out most of humanity in the second movie. That left about 16 million humans left alive on earth. Then, the virus mutated and began to rob humans of their ability to speak and some higher brain functions, making them more animalistic.
@@radioraheem9820 16 million? Shouldn't it be more than that? The virus if I recalled wiped 99% of the human population. There were around 7 billion people on the globe when the Siman Flu outbreak started, if just 1% of the population survived then that means the human population fell down to 70 million people.
Jaby did you see that the girl wearing modern clothes unlike the other humans? Maybe she's from another planet. I mean, some people could travel to another planet, and she's came back for something.

Hahahaha that's a very out of the box yet truthful question!
Be they whatever ethnic background, European, Asian, etc, humans here would surely all be incredibly tan from spending life out in the sun.
Our modern paler skins come from the ability of being able to hide from the sun, something noble classes first enjoyed
But if we are all basically animals in the wild, we wouldn't all walk around pale hahaha
The apes films explained the devolution of men with the virus.
*opens with "are you familiar with darth plageius.."
Although the skin tone thing is true, I wonder if they are hesitant of showing darker skinned humans in that role, if that makes sense
Im just looking forward to seeing Charlton Heston crash land from the Future and he meets Noah's grand daughter in part 3😊
THE GIRL!!!! IS CHARLTON HESTON??? GREETINGS FROM VENEZUELA
This will be a fantastic start for the Planet of the Apes reboot universe!!🐵🦧🦍
It's not the start. It's the fourth movie in the reboot universe.
@@paulonius42yeah I was thinking the same thing
I'm curious how this will be without Matt Reeves as director, but it looks good.
`please no beastiality, we already get that from carnival row
3:45, shit he's right.....😂
On the woman her clothing looks new/modern vs the other is primitive clothing.
The words "SPOILER ALERT" exist for a reason
It's a bit silly for orangutans and gorillas to evolve into a human stature with a orangutan/gorilla head
I think that the original movie did spectacularly with the technology available to them and their cosmetic work is timeless given it still looks good today
But we have the technology, it is of my personal opinion that giving apes their natural appearance is more in tandem with the story.
Because it's 300 years in the future from the last movie.
Can people have fun and enjoy a good movie and not overly question and nitpick things!? Remember we used to go to the movies for escapism not like we're giving a thesis in a college course on filmmaking?
Probably it's take place like the first 3 movie, maybe it's only show apes at that place
The best😊
Im guessing Noah is Caesars descendant then
Awesome trailer
It actually kinda make sense why she was pale in the movie. Though I'm nots ure is this plot point is intentional.
It's been 300 years since Ceasar
Technically all Apes should have evolved to human forms till this movie 😅😅😂
You don't have to answer but are you 2 a couple ? Great chemistry between both was just wondering 🤔
It's cast that way because they're trying to tell you subliminally about the prophecies of the Bible
Am I the only one worried about this movie? 😕
Probably
It's just like "Planet of the apes (1968)"
This trailer made me miss caesar and and the past apes
No one will ever beat the original.but my personal is beneath planet of the apes.
Is it me or JaBy has the same complaint of new characters
am i tripping or did i see rocket
If Wes Ball really works on LEGEND OF ZELDA
He gotta work as a producer, so he can save it from AVI ARAD
Or it will be just another failure
Isn't Caesar died in the last movie?
She used super sun screen
Reaction on Brooklyn 99
“Why do they hunt her”
-“She’s Charlton Heston”
Where is Caesar???😢
Please react to Achara's new song from the upcoming Indian movie of hers.
@@radioraheem9820
16 million? Shouldn't it be more than that? The virus if I recalled wiped 99% of the human population. There were around 7 billion people on the globe when the Siman Flu outbreak started, if just 1% of the population survived then that means the human population fell down to 70 million people.
Jaby did you see that the girl wearing modern clothes unlike the other humans? Maybe she's from another planet. I mean, some people could travel to another planet, and she's came back for something.
