Angelina has been singing like this since she was about 7 years old her most popular song then was Fly Me To The Moon. She didn't speak any English I think she is French, I think. She was on quite a few TV shows singing. Check out her life story on UA-cam.
Its her own song and music .. and she told in a resent interview that she has over 100 songs waiting for us ❤❤❤ Greatings from an old Danish Dear and Angel 🌷🇩🇰❤️
I think one of Angelina’s greatest talents is what you mentioned at the end: we feel that Angelina is singing to each of us individually. Her connection to the listener is immediate and personal. And in this original composition we get Angelina’s always-positive message. Life may throw us some curves, but stay positive and upbeat. And speaking of upbeat, Angelina makes this retro upbeat jazz completely accessible to everyone. It’s just one of the many genres she handles so effortlessly and authentically.
My mom used to go to Roseland Ballroom, back in the 30's - 40's to dance and listen to The Big Bands that played there. When the orchestra took a break from their 'up tempo' ' musiccalled 'Swing'. Then, a female soloist would take the stage and with a minimal amount of musicians, perform this 'down tempo' style of 'Swing'.
Good catch, this is an electronic alternative version. This bass player is the pianist in her first original she wrote Life is Beautiful. BTW, I think she is a rare contra-alto. This always gives her weight, even though she can thin it out for her current chosen sound, which began with the cover Mercy.
As you observed, this wasn't live but a live in studio version does exist albeit with insert edits to give different camera angles. ua-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/v-deo.html Dylan Meek on bass here is a recording artist in his own right. He sings jazz, writes, produces and plays keyboards and guitar. No doubt he could also get by on upright bass but his role here is more as a regular collaborator of Angelina's playing a part. The studio version features an actual upright bass player.
Well that’s the good thing about music Jack. Everyone can have their opinions and likes and dislikes. Glad you listened and tried though. Maybe there’s something else in my channel you might like better.
I meant Haley. Many vocal coaches who have reacted to Angelina say that they can teach entire masterclasses on Angelina alone. I read a comment once that said God created Angelina so she could sing to him...
Angelina Jordan is a self taught jazz vocalist, who won Norway's Got Talent at age 8 singing Billie Holiday. Now 17 years old, she has released 11 original songs in addition to her nearly 200 covers on UA-cam. Her most popular video is her genius arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Her fans are called Angels and she is a music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone . Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out later this year. She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to be a superstar, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!
In an interview with "With Guitar" Angelina said about her original song 7th heaven “Life has ups and downs, and you always have to be ready for whatever is coming up. The song is a reminder to look at everything in a positive light and not get down on yourself. Most importantly - no matter what you're doing - don't give up. Bob, you should listen to the "Live" version on your own for comparison. Angelina is at her best when she is singing live. See if you agree. ua-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/v-deo.html

Great raection, Bob! I can't really speak to whether (EDIT) Dylan Meeks was actually playing the upright on the track, but he IS a musician and plays piano rather well. I also love the bass line here; it really anchors the track and provides a perfect setting for Angelina's smoky voice. There's an even better bass line in Angelina's new, Motown-inspired original, Good In Goodbyes. Worth a listen! Also, you simply HAVE to listen to Postmodern Jukebox's cover of One Week from Barenaked Ladies, featuring Emma Smith. It'll take you back to the days of Al Jarreau or The Manhattan Transfer.

Angelina has gotten much praise for her lyrics. Especially on the new EP. She has said that her song ideas and lyrics come from her journals that she has been writing since she was a little girl. I was also watching the bass player and it seemed, although the notes played were pretty similar throughout the song, that his fret hand stayed close to the neck. Most upright bass players I've ever seen, such as in blues bands, play much more towards the middle. And I also agree his plucking hand had some rhythm but didn't seem to match up all the time. But as you said, most music videos are done over the studio song. I've watched many music videos where the guitars have no cables plugged into them. She has a good voice for this type of arrangement. Not sure she could go toe to toe with Adele, but I respect her for staying within her vocals towards her song selections. Nicely done Bob!
Yeah jazz bass players tend to go all over the neck. Sometimes because of the chords being used it’s easy to reach those notes in the middle of the fretboard. Just better positions of thr notes in relation to each other within the chord progressions. I think given Angelina’s age she will become something special down the road. Maybe an Adele. Thanks as always Guy! I appreciate your comments and support!
You definitely should check out her Adele covers. She dies great renditions of "All I Ask," "When We Were Young" (live), and "Easy On Me." You will not be disappointed. * my fave is All I Ask
Angelina is a fan of ADELE and has every respect for her and her achievements .BTW in the link, video supplied by 103mrg notice how Angelina looks to her left , she is reading the Lyrics from ner device . many of these home performances are recorded with very little rehearsal time , often 3 recordings in one day .
---- No, the bassist is not actually playing ---- He is Dylan Meeks, who is considered one of the best young jazz pianists in the US today. Dylan, and his brother Buck, were nominated for 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Buck for Best Alternative Music Album with his band Big Thief, and Dylan for co-writing the song Invincible for the soundtrack of the Spiderman animation film Into The Spider-Verse. ---- Dylan is in a few other videos with AJ, but playing the keyboard
This off video is just a subced video to a studio track... acting. YES, THIS studio, milti take production is SYNTH, BUT, the first vid, a non-live live, in studio, was produced with real instruments, produced, BUT, they possibly dis sing all or part, live and used it in production. Go watch it. Some differences in treatment.
Hi Bob. Great reaction! This is a music video so the music comes from the recorded version of the song that's why the bass sounds more electronic. Anyway the guy "playing" it in the video is in fact a bassist 😉
Hello again, my friend 🙂 It's always a treat to see your reactions to Angelina, and this was no exception. This recording is more than 2 years old, Angelina was 15,5 here, and she turns 18 on January 10th next year. And I definitely agree with you on the bass. It is absolutely an electronic bass in the recording. Undoubtedly. Here's just a short summary of what she's been up to lately. On July 21st she dropped an EP called "Old Enough", containing 6 songs written an co-written by her. Angelina was live in the chat during the release, and when she was asked about it, she said that she has already written more than 100 songs. She also said that she would want nothing more than to put out a new album every 2 months... 😂 That would have been something, right ? First she has to release her FIRST album, and it looks like that is going to happen toward the end of the year, and shortly before she turns 18. I guess THAT is when Republic Records will start promoting her as well. SO far they have held back, as per Angelina and her family's wish. It has always been a premise that she'd be given time to finish school before anything more happens with her career. She finished school this summer. Republic Records very recently built Angelina her very own recording studio,so they are VERY aware of what an artist they have on their hands. I would LOVE if you could react to her songs from the EP, as they are AWESOME. Worthy of a Grammy IMO. My personal favorite on the EP is called "Good In Goodbyes", so that is a safe suggestion 😅 Also "Diamond" and "All My Fault". With the EP she showcases her extreme versatility, as well as her incredible pen game, which is complete fire. I could go on for hours talking about her, but this is will have to do for now. I know that you are a big fan of her, so here's to hoping that you will react to her some more, sooner rather than later 😉 Take care and have a wonderful weekend! Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
Nice to hear from you my friend. Thanks for the kind words and all of thr great info. I looked for new music on her channel but now based on what you said I have to believe it’s on the Republic Records site. Thanks I’ll check them out. Have an awesome weekend!
phs Howdy!!! Hope you're doing well.....I wanted to tell you that I've noticed a definite improvement in your writing skills. More of a flow to your narrative; greater logic in the expression of ideas; fewer grammatical miscues; overall more reader-friendly.....In your comment above, one minor correction: "more than 2 years old already". The "already" doesn't belong (It's taking something from the past and putting it in the present. This doesn't work. If you insist on it, you could write: "At present, the recording is....." But that's actually redundant and unnecessary.
@@103mrg Lol. Thanks 👍 So THAT'S the reason why I haven't heard from you in so long. The very best reason😉 I've actually been thinking about you quite a few times, wondering where you went. I hope you're doing great. As always, thanks a lot for the correction and feedback. It allows me to improve even further. Enjoy the weekend! Love from Norway 🇸🇯❤️🇺🇸
You may be surprised to know she first appeared on television with a self written song age 12. SHIELD. The interview starts of without subtitles but quickly goes to English as both Angelina and the interviewer do not speak each others language fluently.
I saw a recent clip where Angelina's sister Juliette enumerates her "five" languages: American, English, Swedish and Norwegian... (she missed off a fifth) ) :) I wonder if they are both fluent in Swedish (their father is Swedish), the language the interviewer you mention started in before asking if they could switch to English...
@@geoffreynorth9046 so she's not considered fluent in Pharsi, the language she spoke to the little girl with scared feet, in. Or Japanese because I saw her speak a little of that.
@@anitaherbert1037 I don't know... I was quoting something Juliette said recently on a clip I think I saw on Grandma Mery's tiktok site... My guess is that the two sisters are not fluent in Pharsi, nor Japanese - though Sara and Michael I am sure are, both being brought up in Japan
Thanks Bob for your reaction. An Angelina original at age 14. The bass player is Dylan Meeks, a gifted musician who does play bass and is an accomplished Piano player as well. Angelina featured him in another of her first originals, "What Is Life" along with guitarist Ivan Mendez. Don't know whether or not they enhanced his bass here or not but he is an excellent musician....Angelina generally surrounds herself with experienced and accomplished musicians....anyway my ear is not that keen. Much appreciation. 🥰🥰 Angelina always sing to us and makes us feel special...one of the many reasons we love her.
Just got through Reed Arondelli’s original song seventh Heaven by for award for piano playing. He’s a real deal been multiple instruments who won the ones that was with her when she was on her new song was like 12.
I’ve heard some strange stories about YT policy. I had a video blocked from recording some of the It’s a Small World for violating the music copyright. I mean it’s the music they play there. But no issues, I’m still going to watch your videos!
Thanks I appreciate the support. My channel will continue on I just won’t make anything from UA-cam. All of the merch and affiliate links will still make me some money in the descriptions of the videos. I enjoy doing the videos and meeting everyone so it’s all good. I love teaching and hearing new music.
Bob, the so called "bass player" in reality is Dylan Meek, 2 times Grammy nommenee and first class PIANO player, a friend of Miss Angelina. I am pretty sure he stood in for the video.
Hi Bob this is an original song. She dropped a h EP in August consists of 6 original songs. It is absolutely amazing, don't miss it. It is her first EP with with Republic Records. So proud of her I have been following her for a long time and really love and admire her. Blessings from a 77 year old gran from South Africa.
Couldn’t leave a message on the membership area, or see your total message. But saw enough to see the membership area was closed, at least temporarily. No problem, I guess for now everyone will be able to see your videos :). And nothing really wrong with that 😊
Hey Guy the message I left was that UA-cam decided to demonetize my channel for using reused content. Thr funny thing was they said it was ok to do reaction videos. 🤣makes no sense. Sorry membership was shut down for now. I hope to get it cleared up soon. One thing this has done is made me want to open a Patreon page sooner than I was going to.
Nothing make about this voice. Now there is a woman singer who is popular and she does sing in thr male register. People love it though. It just depends on thr listener what they enjoy hearing.
Another amazing singer to check out is the English singer, Harriet. She sounds a lot like Karen Carpenter, yet has her own sound. She doesn't intentionally try to sound like Karen, but it's just naturally in her voice. She is amazing and writes a lot of her own songs as well as doing covers. Check her out.
Angelina can do it all. Her talent just keeps growing. Let me know your thoughts about this one or just hit the like button if you enjoyed it.

Hey Bob…great job!
Thanks Steven!
Angelina wraps the other girl in selfless, humble, affirming LOVE. She's pretty much done the same to each and everyone of us, too, hasn't she.
For sure Jay
😀😀😀😀😀
The next bond song by Angelina Jordan? 😊😊
That would be perfect.
She has done quite a few Adele covers, you should give them a listen. I believe she can and does go toe to toe with Adele
guy By age 12, Angelina had surpassed Adele vocally. If you need convincing: ua-cam.com/video/IXqpYgv4tBA/v-deo.html
I doubt if the bassist is playing it for the recording but he is an Emmy nominated pianist and a friend of AJ's
Thanks for that info! Things just looked a bit off watching him.
---- No, the bassist is not actually playing
---- He is Dylan Meeks, who is considered one of the best young jazz pianists in the US today.
Thanks for the info!
👍👍👍
A salubrious Place.
Sometimes life can be hard and stressful, but there is always a way to find some joy and peace. For me, that way is listening to Angelina Jordan's amazing voice. She can sing any song and make it sound like a masterpiece. Whether it's "Stay" or "Million Miles", she fills my heart with happiness and hope. She is like an angel who lifts me up from my troubles and takes me to a magical place where everything is beautiful and serene. © Larry D. Pifer
AJ also did a live version with a great Bass player from her Noyway band. Dylan is a pianist who probably sat in for the video.
Hi Bob. Great reaction! This is a music video so the music comes from the recorded version of the song that's why the bass sounds more electronic. Anyway the guy "playing" it in the video is in fact a bassist 😉
Thanks for the info!
made Watch Angelina's What Is Life video. You might re-think your statement about the bassist.
@@103mrg I know he played the piano there but maybe he plays more than one instrument 🙂
Hi Bob , would you attend to a concert of Angelina in N. York??
Maybe it might be close enough. Is she coming to New York?
The very best reason😉
I've actually been thinking about you quite a few times, wondering where you went. I hope you're doing great. As always, thanks a lot for the correction and feedback. It allows me to improve even further. Enjoy the weekend! Love from Norway 🇸🇯❤️🇺🇸
@@103mrg😂
@@poolhallshark 👍 Be well.
Taking us to her musical 7th Heaven !!!
You may be surprised to know she first appeared on television with a self written song age 12. SHIELD. The interview starts of without subtitles but quickly goes to English as both Angelina and the interviewer do not speak each others language fluently.
Thanks Anita!
Angelina always performs for an audience of one.
Thanks Carl for the great info! I appreciate it.
Fifteen years old in this video.
Great reaction, God Bless!
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It was electronic
Hey I love your video
Thanks!
Wow that’s pretty cool. He’s a superstar then. Thanks.
I’ve to hear from you Gwen. I heard she released her album. I’m hoping to get to more of those amazing songs.
She’s 8th heaven.
I love her song! As you said, her voice is so unique! Great reaction!
Thanks Gail!
Thanks Bob ! Man.... That bass thing really got to you. 😅
It just wasn’t adding up with what I was hearing and seeing.
I think her voice looks a bit male voice and artificial .
Nothing make about this voice. Now there is a woman singer who is popular and she does sing in thr male register. People love it though. It just depends on thr listener what they enjoy hearing.
Сколько ее слушаю, нет от нее мурашек, как от нашей Дианы. Поёт не сердцем, а как статист.
I’ll have another Diana video coming out soon.
Thanks if you have a link please send one for that video.
