- So happy with how the car is feeling right now, being able to shift it reliably now has really helped bring it to life. As for the longevity of the shifter only time will tell.
Thanks to @driftgold & @LonnoFPV for the outside shots! - Авто та транспорт
I love that this got recommended. Love your FD build, and nice skill too
This is incredible! A sequential RX7! You know how to tune!
Jesus, the FD is such a damn RIPPER
Glad to see the updates are working well!
Keep move forward ✊
Always great to see a new update from you bro!
Glad to see the shifter works, looks super fun to use
sounds mint as always 💯
Got recommended too! Nice build, vid and skills!!!
the fd sounds absolutely visceral
awesome video quality bro aswell as ur driving keep up the good work👏👏
Sounds so damn good
Tall guy here, Low Max's are the best seats hands down. Car rips.
In your car , what was the difference in inches between low max and OEM seating position ?
@@bigjdm5460 Custom mounting points so I would venture 6-8 inches gained + seat jacks in the front.
How tall are you? Out of curiosity for reference to myself. Always wanted to buy one of these cars but the moment I sat in one I felt like there was no way I could enjoy it and I’m only 6 ft 1 maybe 6 ft 2 on a good day lol.
@@Thaelkor 6-8 inches lower than stock seating position? NO WAY! I’m 6 foot 6 and I have forged 2jz Altezza build going. I need my seat atleast 4 inches lower
Can't wait for this channel to blow up!!
you and me both 🤣
Bro, thats dope, looks to function well. Nice driving as per usual, u got that 7 sussed its a fair beast too. Responsive as. gd shit my man Aussi aussie
Heck yea mate, honestly looks like its heaps easier to change gears now then when we did those wild laps at Gunsai. Ahhhh I wanna do that sh&t again asap!!! haha
Oh man it's sooo much better now. Yeah we have to do it again that day was toooo fun!
Yeah you're insane, I need to see this build in person too
You are a beast of a driver 🫶
Tuff vid as always mart, glad the trans is meeting expectations
This guy has studied the best over there. The Japanese have a very distinguished style of drifting that you’ve adapted well.
seems GOOOD !! I drove a buddies S14 with a sequential and you have to really yank those things otherwise they get a bit mad at you haha !!
Ahhh~ Another great Andrew Date upload to watch! Great way to start my Friday!!! That sequential setup seems similar to the Ikeya Formula style, you should ask Mush for his HKS dogboxes haha (kidding~)!!
Love the way this car sounds, Andrew. If I'm in Japan, would love to meet and check out your car in person. Bet the sequential is fun!
No problems! Just lmk when you are coming over!
You absolutely farkin rip mate
Hahah thank you, Trying!
"When I drive it normally" =)
You're really shredding bro. Any chance you're gonna drive in the states? It would be rad to do some runs with you!
I'd love to come over! I was actually thinking doing a drag week would be a fun trip 😅
I run Ikeya Formula sequenshifter on stock FD trans.
Biggest misconception is people dont understand dogring engagement VS synchro.
You dont rip these, you still shift them.
agreed!
@@AndrewDate my next step is liberty face plate my spare stock trans (~$2,000). Then I can rip 1-4 at least.
Clutch kicking the rotary, is it too harsh on the car? Car sounds mint
Rotary engines are strong, no need to worry
more hard on the clutch itself since no timing components to worry about
I've never actually "broken" the Driveline in this car I think as long as your speed/momentum is high when you clutch kick it's not so bad. If your going slow and give it a big clutch kick that's when you will break parts.
Is this the shift assembler that bolted to the stock transmission but essentially acts as a sequential question mark I've seen these before I was always curious if they really work. What is your feedback now?
Yep that's right just a stock 350Z transmission with the sequential pattern shifter. I've done 2 events in the car with it and so far 0 problems with miss shifts or popping out of gear like I have heard about. Only annoying thing about it I would say is that it vibrates and rattles at high rpm.
with the cd009 sequential kits do you need to still use the clutch or can you shift under load?
Still need the clutch, it changes nothing except the shift pattern from H to Sequential pattern.
Are you running a 17/18 stagger?
18 all around, I don't like the staggered look haha
get rid of the S1 shifter. It has let countless people down. Don't trash your transmission
What horror stories have u heard?
Would love more info on this, I struggled to find real info on people who use them so that's why I just decided to do it myself. I saw videos of people having them not shift well but mine is working great.
My last transmission had a serial 9 h pattern shifter and the synchros only lasted a year or so and the shifting feel was terrible. If I get similar life with significantly more reliable shifts it's still a win for me.
I don't expect these parts to live forever with what i use them for so I guess the success is relative to people's expectations.
We would like to see update videos if you do run into problems because I too have seen many videos outlining problems
poor synchros incoming
man i want one so bad, im so clost to being able to buy one!
