    Just found out my bank will actually finance one of these for me. A lot of people say I shouldn’t but dude… the days of getting one are running out imo and I will take this car to the grave. Great video man!

      60% of all jdm cars are financed, of course they will, rx7s are cool and not worth it at all.

      Hey mate is that the factory front bar you have on ? Or is it the feed bumper ? Or something else?

    • @SSDMRX7
      @SSDMRX7 Місяць тому

      @@jtspiky The front fenders are FEED but the front bumper is from a kit called Burnout. The front splitter attached to the bumper is from a company called Racebred Components.

    Would of been cool to see some old pics of the RX7 or the LA scene at that time just because the conversation was about that. This was a really well done video though !! 26 years ownership is incredible.

      You know I meant to add some pics and forgot until you just mentioned it haha. He has a great post on the rx7 forums with all the old pictures I’ll find the link. Thank you for the support I really appreciate it!

    The most impressive thing about this FD is that it has no interior rattles 🤣. Great interview!

    Yo I'm the sv650 guy from Bogus. Thanks for letting me get some pictures it was really cool to show my buddies! Asking about the car scene before F&F was a really good question. Especially cool to hear about it from an FD RX-7 owner, super interesting. Cant wait for the next video!

    Gorgeous car with a down to earth owner.
    He can actually fit 18x12 +30 315/30-18 front/back with bodywork he has done!

      Thank you appreciate the comment! You can absolutely fit that size with a 30 series sidewall but I always thought it had a bit of the rubber-band on a wheel look, especially in the rear so I try to keep the sidewall at 35 for a bit more beef.

    I bought a 96 RX7 FD in 2009 when I was living in Japan for 6k from a dude who was getting stationed back in the US, and needed to sell it quick. It had a bunch of miles on it, and eventually ran into some big problems with the car overheating and coolant exploding after 10 minutes of driving it. It was too much of a pain to try and ship it back when I was getting out, so I gave it away to a friend who had the money to repair it. Sucks too though, because it had a lot of aftermarket parts including some rare dry carbon fiber JDM exterior mods

    • @mccgarage
      @mccgarage  Місяць тому +1

      Wow! What a car that would have been to have back here or at least the parts. Does the friend still have it?

    The owner and I must be the same age, FF was such a joke when it came out. NOPI was having its neon phase and the whole scene had just devolved. So interesting to see the generation sea change that FF brought to so many.

      It’s one of my favorite things to talk about with Chris when we get together. I was a preteen when the first movie came out. So I remember some of the car scene but obviously didn’t have a car or hang around it a ton. So it’s always super interesting to hear from him about it

    You swap the rotary with a piston engine - you committed a sin.

    BS. You were not making 450hp at 14lbs on twins.

    • @mccgarage
      @mccgarage  9 днів тому

      I’ll let the owner answer you himself but I know for a fact he was. I’ve also seen B series Honda motors running over 500hp at 14lbs on a single turbo.

    • @SSDMRX7
      @SSDMRX7 8 днів тому

      Yep absolutely let me clarify, that was not on the stock twins, I was going back to what I had just said previously about running the twins at 340 and maxing out. No way I'm making that power on HT-12's lol
