- An extremely sweet ballad sung by Natalie Wood. She appers in the film "Penelope" singing it, but unfortunately it was cut... so buying the EP I decided to rip it, but it seems somebody else have already done it... anyway I chose Natalie Wood's pictures in her 1960s and 1970s, such a beautiful woman isn't she?
Here I am after watching Penelope. Such a wonderful movie. I love Natalie Wood. She will always be remembered by us
The most beautiful actress that the world has seen, Natalie a true charm that is impossible to forget, she was, is and will be my favorite actress forever I love her.😭😭😭😭💖💖💖💖💖
My favorite actress. She was beautiful inside and out. Her versatility knew no bounds.
She had a beautiful voice. We Miss you Natalie!!
OMG she was so gorgeous, she looked so modern.Could be a young woman in 2011.
Love her!
Just watched “Penelope” movie, in which she sung this song. Beautiful
She's one of the most beautiful and talented actresses eve, and I dare say she could sing!
I love "Penelope", even though it was a flop for Natalie (1966) Her voice was usually dubbed except for "Gypsy". She also sang a song in the 1973 TV movie, "The Affair".
She did ALL her own singing in GYPSY.
MARNI NIXON sang for her in WEST SIDE STORY.
Natalie did a touch of her own singing in INSIDE DAISY CLOVER, but most of
her singing was done by Jackie Ward.
JACKIE WARD sang for her in THE GREAT RACE.
It's nice that Natalie sang this song herself in PENELOPE. Thanks for posting this vocal accompanied by such nice photos of her.
Natalie also sang a song in the 1973 TV movie, "The Affair".
I thought she was dubbed in this as well.
I love you Natalie, may God bless your soul. I'll never forget you
So nice Natalie, rip.😢
@polycarpx In "The Great Race" her character sings The Sweetheart Tree, but Natalie's singing voice for that was supplied by studio vocalist Jackie Ward, who also did most of Natalie's singing in Inside Daisy Clover.
I think, Natalie could have sung, "The Sweetheart Tree". Not a hard song and Natalie's character was not a singer in the movie and it is done in a very whimsical way.
This song was not cut from "Penelope". Natalie sings it in the movie.
Yep...I used to have the movie on VHS my mom copied from Turner Movies. But, I lost it:( But, I think it may finally be available on DVD. Natalie is shown singing the song in some kind of little club or coffee house, in front of an audience.
She was the prettiest lady ever. My boyfriend thinks I look like her...but that I'm even more beautiful. I strongly disagree...but what a compliment!
Wow Thank You for posting . I love this song and the movie its from. bravo.
@JohnnyGNV and lyrics were written by Gale Garnett, who also tried luck in France with a couple of EP's
The cd to this film is available at amazom music, there are two versions listed, the original and an alternate take, but I think they are both shorter than this Can anyone tell me if the whole song heard here is on that cd? This is a lovely almost haunting song I would love to have and listen to on cd. Thank you Howie
@JohnnyGNV She also sang The Sweetheart Tree in The Great Race.
I think they dubbed her for that song for some reason. But, it is Natalie's singing in the movie "Gypsy". And, she sang a song in the TV movie, "The Affair" (1973).
if you really listen, you will note that the song is not meant to be "on key".
i say its well played.
anyone out there know who wrote this tune?
@mauvetys It seems it is the only song that she recorded... and I've heard her voice was almost never used in her own films, just as Marisa Mell's.
Natalie wasn't a great singer but this here is just nice to hear her sweet voice period.
i think it's badass
I'm glad you think so! I grew up watching Natalie and miss her presence in this world.
Nat was a beautiful singer I think. I wish she’d sing into my ear 💗💝
🌞
very sweet and delicate both slide of pics and song
does someone know the chords to this song?
now if you want to rival the end of world by skeeter davis play this song and just say its the end of the world but its not the sun is gray and natalie mysery would be solved.
Robert did it
she sings very well.
her voice is delight. A
She is a good if not great singer. Beautiful? Lordy, yes!
is this really her?
Yes!
