This was dope Jeff!! I got to learn allot, especially being a guy who was out of BMX completely from 1998-2009 I was really able to connect allot of dots... Thanks Ryan, and Dennis!!
Thanks for the mention Jeff and for your immense influence on those early years of DIG! Stoked that your photos are still in the mag all these years later too.
Thank you to Jeff Z. A great photo in the moment is amazing, then 10 years later it's a memory that brings that day flooding back, then 20 years later it's a part of history - every part of the photo, the bike, the clothes, stuff in the background, everything about it is a historical document. In 100 years people will see some of these photos and will be amazed.
Great interview. There's something special about clicking that shutter button, seeing the shot and saying "f_ck yeah" to yourself and punching the air. Some of my best BMX times where those exact moments.
We've never stopped making physical magazines and nowadays there's also the links of Slient, Endless, Slack, and lots more, flying the flag for print too.
1:54:00 - I filmed some of that video with Drew on a trip with him and Jeff. Jeff filmed the other stuff while he was shooting with Drew in Canada for the magazine interview. I'm sure I have all the original footage and file still on a hard drive. I was scared during the cover shot! I had "9-1" typed in on my phone in case I had to hit another "1" if he crashed. And I had mentally prepared what I would tell the dispatch in order to explain where we were, etc. Haha.
So good,ha I had a similar ells nocturnal experience, stayed there for 6 weeks, never seen him much, ha then one day I’m like ells I’m going home tomorrow, so we filmed the next day on the way to the airport haha , sneider was there surviving on nothing! Smoker was the best
true story, I'd been out of BMX for a few years an met a photog named Zieliensky so I'm thinking 'this dudes famous'...... turns out it's Martin Zieliensky! :'D :'D :'D P.S I am DAF
No, I only knew his name as “Black Chris.” He was like 24 when we were 16/17 and super, super cool. Would love to know his last name and what he’s up to.
Thanks for the opportunity dudes! Great conversation-minus the few dead brain moments I had... haha

I know you guys were talking about flatland covers but all I could think of was Edwin’s hop truck on flat cover in the purple kit. Legendary!

That cat has something special going on. Stealing the show for me haha.
First couple of minutes he literally looks like a cardboard cut-out, or that he is printed onto Jeff Z’s shirt

Not sure if you ever told me about that or not. Always prepared.

Thats how you say his name! 😮
It just ends with him talking about magoo trip ? Mid sentence?
