I escaped the Egyptian police with a bike (800km chase)

- On our second day cycling in Egypt, we got caught by the police, and we were told they had the order to escort us for "security reasons" for 800 km until we leave the country. Or so they thought... What they didn't know was that the most epic (and long) police chase in history was about to go down...

Roberto, this video is nothing short of thrilling! The way you and your team handled the unexpected encounter with the police in Egypt is truly commendable. As a local from Minya (city you have visited), I suggest making calls with locals who have connections with police to make it easier, and also officials from ministry of tourism can be useful ( I can't be very sure). This is the first video i have seen from you ,liked and subbed straight away,i am half Egyptian half Dutch, fun seeing a dutchmen joining you on your journey as well (what are his socials?), Cannot really blame the policemen for doing their work,it's difficult for them as well, you guys weren't breaking any laws just cycling and having fun. the whole reason the system is like this is that there have been dictators that have been toppled in the last few decades around the globe,so people filming everything makes them suspicious. Glad most Egyptians are lovely people.

I really appreciate all the research you did about Egypt and how respectful about the culture you all were. And as for the police, even us Egyptians struggle to understand their logic😅
And ngl, you’re lucky cause the police in this video seemed quite friendly
I think they were scared some dum ass would kidnap or kill them or steal from them and scarred that would translate into bad rep now the reason for their fear is justified how they handle this issue now that's a different issue
Your storytelling skill is insaneeee! How on earth do you have time to write the story, export all the clips, find the music/the sound effects, Edit a 30min video, all this while still going from one place to another! Mental!😂 Can't wait for the next video!

I really enjoyed this one, because I've had some similar experience when I was in Egypt.... Great job.
Did u cycle there?
@@RobertoHelou yes...from Cairo to Luxor but they wouldn't let me!! after a few miles the police stopped me and forced me to go with them back to Cairo and go by train (after waiting 15 hours and having to sleep in a dirty hotel) obliging me to buy a First Class Ticket...that turned out to be an overpriced regular tourist class seat.... They wouldn't even let me walk: when I was in Luxor the next day I wanted to enjoy walking to the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens etc...and after rejecting a couple of taxis a police car started following me and eventually offered to escort me wherever i wanted to go...so I spent the entire time arguing with the police instead of enjoying the walk. Same thing the next day when I tried to bike to Karnak, like 2 or 3 miles away from Luxor...I'm sure they' had been watching me the entire time...like if I deserved a special treatment...for traveling alone and according to them that's suspicious....however...the official reason for limiting my freedom was, according to the police, for my safety...but I haven't seen any danger at all, the people were awesome...the only harassment came exclusively from the police constantly attached to my butt.
@Dan Frullani they dont want you to cycle alone because its insanely dangerous, especially after sunset. Why do they care so much? Because your embassy is gonna blame them if you get kidnapped, robbed or killed.
For clarification, I was referring to cycling alone on the highway between two cities for example.
