Best News to know GEORGE is ok. George has been missed. Even if George never makes another video. One of the best legacy George left on you tube. I still use Barley and hops as a reference on a regular basis. Thank you bearded & Bored Thank you George.
George is responsible for my passion for home distilling! George taught me everything from A to Z. George is legendary! George, Bearded & Jesse...UA-cam's OG of home distilling!
I totally agree! Really missed George and go back and watch him and bearded and Jessie. But I really wish bearded would get a mic to ware and or add curtains or something in the room to kill the echo. He has a nasal voice and it’s hard for some of us to make out what is slurred with the echo. Really like hearing it all. Also he cut George off when George was about to say why he’s been off the Chanel. Not good. Not good at all. Dang. Now I don’t know???
First, it's great to see _You_ back ... and now George too? Fantastic! You are both a credit to the hobby. Vevor, your sponsor, I started with their basic 8 gal kit. As I learned more I tinkered and modified it with Vevor and Amazon parts. Now it can run in various configurations, original, 2" column w/ copper lining or packing, deflag or not, plates or not, worm or shotgun condenser. It's a great tool to learn on and, unlike an air still, easy to grow as your skills do. I've learned so much and been inspired by you, George, Jesse, and Alan Bishop (One Piece At A Time Distilling Institute) here on UA-cam and from the forum. I hoist a dram of my finest hypothetical single malt to you all.
Great news !!!! In 1981 or 82 , I ordered " The Lore Of Sill Building " , out of the back pages of Field & Stream magazine . My brother and I followed the info and made some sugar shine . What a hot liquor it was . But thats how we started and that was the best info we had . Then I saw ( decades down the road ) George's videos and what a difference in info will make in your final product . Brother past in 2020 , I still continue , and knock one back with him and with some music every night . From a brother in San Antonio , WELCOME BACK G. D. Thank you Bearded One !
Welcome back George. I will be eternally grateful for your help and guidance in my distillation journey. I have learned an enormous amount from your informative, easy to understand videos. Distillation has become a bit of an obsession for me after 5 years of enjoying the hobby. I would love to see you do some content at a more advanced level to help me in my continuing journey. I am grateful to live in New Zealand where we enjoy more realistic laws regarding distillation. I truly am really glad to see you back and greatly appreciate your efforts and the time you have put in to growing this hobby all round the world. Many thanks George.
George is only I bought a small still and why I distill. He gave so much of the basics, and taught me every step of the way. Today I make 10 gallons a year, usually spend 2-3 weekends in fall for first 5 gallons, the 2-3 weekends in Spring for the 2nd 5 gallon. To this day, I pull up his videos to make sure I do not mess up my corn bourbon grain mashes. His video on making a water chiller out of air conditioner I repeated. His video of using fish aquarium heaters to keep my mash at a perfect temp was copied ETC. If he does 1 video every 2 months, I'll be the happiest subscriber. Welcome back George!!! yes!!
George helped me understand what are essential basics of distilling. i had been Distilling some time with some success but he took me from guess my best to actually understanding it as a craft and science
god I'm so happy George is ok, i really missed you dude, your the godfather of homebrew and distilling that everyone can understand, George, Bearded and Jessie all together in a session has got to be a bucket list moment. keep going Sir, your loved and appreciated more then you realise.
It makes me so happy that George is ok and a bonus of going to start posting videos again at some point! He is the first big channel I found that got me interested and started in the hobby along with building some of my own equipment and controllers!! Cheers and stay safe!!
Man, I'm so glad to see George again! He opened a whole new world to me. And bearded and Jesse have helped in so much. Thank you guys! George looking forward to what ever you may do!!
Wow, this is great news...you said it all. George was my foundation for learning about the hobby and art behind the process that my family was involved in 100 years ago. I'm so excited for future videos and you can bank on me tuning in!
George is my inspiration. I think you and I started the same time. I made cherry bounce. I used both tart and sweet cherry juice, cracked corn, malted barley and locally sourced honey. It turned out spectacularly!! And, having heritage from Islay, George gave me the confidence to try my own single malt barley spirit, that I call Pennsylvania scotch. So excited to hear from my mentor George, again! My success and pride in this wonderful hobby was because of our buddy, George!! Salute to you, George, my friend!! The best thing I learned from George is to ferment on the fruit of which flavor you desire, because, once you do the soaking of the fruit, it intensifies the natural flavors.
So very glad to see that George is doing well and plans to make videos again. Hearing this has made my entire weekend. Thank you Bearded & Bored for being the bearer of such good news. 🙂
I've been watching Jesse for quite some time now, and he has led me to you and George. The amount of information from the trio, is freaking awesome!!! I'm greatly appreciative of your channels. It's almost an overload, but I'm good at taking notes. Keep the content coming. Thank you so much for your hard work and great content.
WoW! Cherry bounce and our missing guru in one amazingly video. Thank you, Brother Bearded! Maybe Brewbird can get that long overdue interview now. Thanks again, very very happy to see for myself George is well
It’s great seeing you two together again. George, you allowed me to take a curiosity and turn it into a great hobby. The world is a better place with you in front of the camera!
George was the ONLY informative channel in my “apprenticeship” days & im grateful for his explanations….& now he’s thinking of returning I’m hoping George will do the things that make HIM happy & drag us along for the ride!!! I’m so pleased he’s had a well earned break. Only do what you like & not as frequently, so you can enjoy the return n have fun. I’m super happy he’s well n rested. Don’t take any pressure George!!!
So thankful bearded you always bring out great content👊, but so great full you kept in contact with George, he was the first I learnt from, and then Jessie and you for great recipes and inspiration, it’s been such a learning curve you three have helped me so much , will be great to see George back ❤️
Well, HOT DAMN!!! Awesome to see George back. He taught me how to be a distiller. Jesse helped, but George got down in the weeds and taught me how it's done. For that, I owe him. Thanks for all you do Bearded and Thanks to you George! Cheers! Looking forward to more great content!
Awesome recipe, can't wait to give it a try. SOOOO DAMN HAPPY to see George again - alive and well! We missed you sir. Seriously. Big love from Australia ❤
So the reason I purchased the vevor is because of your review. Thanks I’ve used it twice and looking at a different setup for my space. So relieved George is alive and healthy. His is the grand daddy of this hobby on UA-cam imo. Super excited to see some new content even if it’s just to catch up with his loyal viewers. Missed ya sir.
I'm 59 and just got into distilling and George is the reason why, and Vevor is the way to go for your first still, you learn, learn and learn. When you make mistakes, cause of its simplicity it's not overwhelming. I went with their 9GAL 1800W 110V still and a 700G mill grinder. With a couple of mods, I've consistently make 6.5GAL runs and get 4 to 6 liters of proofed down 100 to 60 depending on my recipes focus. Get a bag of corn, rye, malted and unmalted barley, sugar, store it correctly and you have spirits to your heart content. Thanks for all the info as well.🥂🥃
GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So very happy to see you! After spending what has to be DAYS watching your videos and learning so much from you I am so happy to see you back! I hope when you come back you can do it in a healthy way! Also glad you have had some R&R!
Man I literally had arguments with people about George. People were saying he was deceased and I would ask where they got that information. Long story short no one could prove it and you have no idea the smile I had on my face just to see that George was okay and I cannot wait for his next video.
Yay, George! I am excited! I used to do a Cherry Cordial that was very much like your cherry bounce, I did it in a five-gallon bucket that I kept topping off with fresh booze or cherries. I used to press the spent fruit to reclaim the booze to put back in the bucket. I kept the last batch rolling for several years before I bottled up everything to move to Texas. The only spice I used was vanilla bean.
Jessie from Still It sent me here. Have been using them both as references, now starting to work through your back catalog as well. Here in NZ distillation for personal use is permitted, so the access to and range of equipment and supplies is good. The knowledge on these channels is definitely what makez tye difference, provides the inspiration and, as you say, the sense of community.
My cherry bounce recipe started with (for a 5 gallon mash) 6 lbs cracked corn, 2 1/2 lbs malted barley, 1 gallon each tart and sweet cherry juice, and 16 oz of local honey, ( I warmed the honey in the cherry juice and water for the mash) and 4 lbs of raw sugar. Then, the finished spirit soaked in half tart and half sweet cherries. I think have one pint yet. It is phenomenal!!
Yes please George. I came up at the same time as Jessie and was watching you first. Loved the way you delivered your videos. I don't do it your way, and I don't do it Jessie's, or Beardeds way, but I wouldn't be doing it MY WAY without you guys. Eternal thanks.
Glad to see George is doing well and coming back. First YT channel about moonshine I find was George, and shortly after that he stopped making videos. But his library was huge and I learnt so much, then he point to you and Jessie, later I find Allan Bishop, 4 guys to learn of. Looking forwards to George's new videos. Cheeres
Glad to hear George is coming back. I would watch his videos like an online class. His instructions were detailed enough to add to my learning journal.
I'm really excited the see George is coming back! And you just reminded me of the jar full of cherrys and the jar of blueberries I've had soaking in the garage for a few years! Lol
Thank you both for doing this Video. Very Excited that George is coming back. I have learned soo much from you guys and Jesse. I appreciate all of you guys and the education that you have provided to the community.
Love your videos and glad you are back on a regular basis ....... having George back, well now the world is 100% correct. Have missed the informative no BS information George always presented. 3 years ago my wife gave me a kit for Christmas where you took store purchased clear liquor and infused with wood and spices; you three guys brought me to where I am today in the hobby. Thanks to you all.
So glad to see and hear that George is doing well! The cherry bounce looks delicious. I don't have any homemade brandy around but I might try this anyway. Could you use frozen cherries?
I am so excited that George is OK. I was really worried that Covid had gotten him or something. I even emailed him about a year ago, just wishing him well and telling him that I missed him.
I'm really happy to hear George is back. He largely got me into the hobby when nobody was making content. While I may not agree with him on everything, he got me going and ignited the flame to learn more.

George is great at introducing the beginner to the hobby. He has the endless patience of a teacher.
I just Hypothetically finished your Chocolate Banana Brandy Liqueur Recipe and it is the best thing I have made to date. Everyone loves it.
