MABDR last video #6

In this video I needed gas and something to eat so I went off trail on section #2 of the MABDR to the small area of Paint Bank Virginia.
I had a nice meal of trout at the restaurant. It was late in the day so I headed on to Covington Virginia to get a motel...... and it was a bad one. People were partying all night, I didn't get very much sleep, then the next morning when I was getting on the bike to leave it did its pogo stick thing and slammed me on the pavement hitting my head very hard......so glad I had all my gear on.
I decided to go on and not go back to the trail to finish section #2.
I was getting frustrated with the bike and my chest was hurting worse with the additional falls.
I headed for section #3, went about 75 miles, its close to 200 miles long. With one more unexpected slam from my bike after crossing a rocky creek. Luckily there was another biker to help me lift it.
I was getting pretty fed up with the bike at this point and was getting worried it was going to hurt me really bad. I had no way of knowing when it was going to slam me so I couldn't prepare.
There's a really nice campground in Brandywine, only $10 if you have the National Park pass $20 if you don't. It was nice to stop and enjoy being in nature. I started a campfire and relaxed, it was nice and quiet not like the night before.
I was sleeping very well until I woke up to the horrid sound of a big tree falling which sounded like it was right on me. I didn't have time to do anything but pray! 🙏
What seemed like forever it finally hit the ground, and I could breathe again. But I thought my heart was going to pound right out of my chest. ❤️‍🩹
In that moment I decided it was time for me to go home. Just to many things had been going wrong and my chest injury was hurting worse. So I packed up and headed home. It felt good to be leaving behind the nightmare that I had been through. I sure hope all BDR's are not going to be like this. 😊
I was ready to get this bike home and get it fixed or sell it before it hurt me worse. It did get worse as I was riding home, I guess the bike was breaking in and settling down so I was having trouble putting the kick stand down, it was to tall. I would have to keep moving the bike around at the gas station to find a spot that was sloping down hill, then I could get the stand down and safely get off and back on again. It was a challenge and was wearing me down. I eventually just wouldn't get off, I would pull up to the pump and pump gas with out getting off. It was not good for me to do that, I think I went 5 hours without getting off the bike or using the restroom. ☹️
I was so happy to get home.
It was a very cold ride, so I was so cold, and stiff from not getting off for 5 hours that my husband had to help me.
Things will be different when I ride another BDR. 😊
