- Looking for a bike kit? Here's one I recommend: amzn.to/3214jkj
A few years ago I made a video demonstrating how to install a motorized bike kit. I wanted to remake the video to include some additional information that was left out of the first one.
Here is a video demonstrating how I built a bike work stand: • How to Build a Bike Wo...
I've been biking at least 30+ miles every week.... you sir have just changed my life, brilliant
still use it?
i ride a pedal bike 80 km each morning and again each night and i am 45. not impressed
@@jen3800 you wouldn't be impressed because you don't know what it feels like to have stuffed knees bozo.
@@jen3800 impossible
@@roeg9320 ha ha ha! you are funny! I ride a Specialized Tarmac, use clipless pedals and ride and train daily. Why is that impossible? Are you that fat, slow , stupid and lazy?
Protip: get some thick rubber hosing, cut two small sections off, and put it between the frame and the two motor mounts before bolting everything down. This cuts down greatly on vibration. Your testicles will thank you!

I just bought one of these kits and I'm waiting for the beach cruiser to arrive. This was the best presentation I have seen yet. Thanks for making it.
How was this the best you ever seen he never installed the gas filter and he never showed you how to center the rear sprocket for the chan.
@@alanballard7466 good point however you can’t spell either
So unless you are gonna do a better job
Wtf
@alanballard7466 The rear sprocket part was the reason I watched the video. I just gave up and pray mine doesn't present a problem. 😆
You have the best self explained video of anyone I seen installing this kit . I'll just be watching this tomorrow when I install my 80 cc tribble 6 . Thanks for your help when I finish I'll be back to update how it went and I appreciate you very much thanks brother .
Cool stuff! Great job being concise and framing shots so clearly. Obv, you do this a lot but I'm surprised with how many subpar tutorial videos are out there. Thank you!
Thank U so much sir, out of all the UA-cam videos on how to install these, your video was the one I understood most.
0:41, "Boy, that escalated quick.."
It's not the bike with fast speed it's call fast forward on the camera lol.. I've got 1 it's fun looking for a cheap bike to buy going to do another one
Thank you, you took your time to show how it install, some people move the camera fast , but your video was the best I seen
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. My engine arrived partially disassembled. Does anyone know where I can find a "how to" on assembling it?
One of the better how to videos....
Especially since none of the kits come with instructions....
And for all you so called pro's he gave a very good basic instructions......
Wish all you pro's would make some instructional videos....
Might just some of us from throwing tools....
i made my bike over 1 1/2 years ago so i decided on listing my recommended parts for a motorized bicycle that you should put on to make your bike last
1. BBR Tuning Sprocket Adapter Assembly: www.bikeberry.com/bbr-tuning-sprocket-adapter-assembly.html
2. dual brake lever: www.bikeberry.com/sunlite-alloy-dual-brake-lever.html
and 3. clutch cable lock: www.motorizedbicycle.ca/clutch-parts/clutch-cable-lock.html
bike berry doesn't have #3 so i listed another link so you can get an idea on what you need.
also if you live in canada go to this webside for the engine kit: motorizedbicycle.ca
also don't get the cns high performance carburetor! it is not good for beginners and the jet needle falls out of its place if your carburetor is empty
man where was this video last year lol. those kits or atleast the one i got didnt come with any instructions at all took me just about a day to get everything just right. great video and as these kits become more and more popular people will be coming here to watch how to do it.
THanks for this very informative video. The kit you link to is $99US. Is that the price for the complete kit? That is a great price. Others are much more on EBay. Is the motor dangerously hot? Will I burn my legs or pant leg. Can a different muffler make it quieter? How do you think the four stroke engine would be different?
Where I live in lower Baja Mexico, the price of gas is already very expensive. It is going to jump another 20% in a couple of days. This is a very practical solution to transportation problems for a lot of people who are really struggling with making ends meet. I am going to buy a kit and try it out. I wouldn't want to buy the wrong kit and I'll appreciate your feedback. I'll look for your other videos. Thank you again.
Hey linda! Love Baja, I travel a bit down to Loreto and Cabo, maybe I'll see you ripping along one day. The price on eBay for $100 would be for the full kit, but keep in mind some sellers list low and charge a lot for shipping and handling. It may be more cost effective to find an identical product with a higher list price and free shipping, I find that often ends up being more affordable.
The motor is hot, but located out of the way. I have never accidentally touched it when riding. You can potentially make it a bit quieter with an expansion pipe exhaust, but it'll still be fairly loud. A 4 stroke engine is more expensive but quieter and less smokey but in my opinion harder to fix if anything goes wrong.
+RCexperimental thank you for this video I know you uploaded it two years ago. I just bought an 80cc kit and I only got to putting tank and motor on now I got to watch your video again when I go to finish it up... thank you I hope to figure this out lol
Dude the way you did this video was perfect! Straight to the point!
3:40 Why is that satisfying?
I found it disturbing, because he tightened it fully from one side. You're supposed to tighten the screws bit by bit, alternating the sides. :)
I didn't tighten it fully from that side, just until it was flush and square then alternated both until tight.
+RCexperimental Haha! Great video BTW, I really loved it :)
This was a really good explanation of how to install this kit
Will a 20cc chain saw motor work fine
Brayden Pleydell yes
What a really good how to video. My buddy had an electric bike like this. It was awesome.
+RCSuperPowers Thanks! They're a lot of fun, that's for sure.
great video... do you have a recommendation where to buy the kit? because there are some out there selling not so great quality kits
Honestly they're all pretty similar and will have some quality control issues. Get the cheapest one you can find, and spend the time on maintenance and upkeep. eBay has the cheapest options from what I've seen.
www.grubeeinc.com/ seen at 8:13
yeah i would go with ebay thats where i got my kit from and i put it on my mountain bike and then i was given the California cruiser style bike and i swapped the kit over and those cruisers are a way better bike to put the kit on
My man, thanks. looks simple enough! and very handy instructions
Great explanation. I enjoyed watching your video. By far one of the best videos on this topic. Also your frame seemed to fit so good. I hope that my install will go as smooth. I am waiting for my motor to arrive. I never thought about just sliding the grip shifter in to accommodate the twist throttle. Mahalo, jusride7.
Thanks for the comment! It is still nice to have the ability to shift gears, and trigger shifters can be expensive, so sliding the grip shifter in can be a good compromise.
If you didn't have the forethought to consider what to do with the shifters on a multi speed bike you probably shouldn't be putting motors on things... That's just my opinion. I mean you can't be very technically minded if moving something to make more room so something will fit didn't cross your mind.
Great video with all the steps, and cautionary advice.
Is it me or does this guy sound like an older version of the UA-cam known as "Chills"??
Ikr
Lol I'm dead
Thank you so much man this is really a good video I really like how you started by putting the engine on instead of putting those carbon disks on the wheel like other videos You really made the simpler and easier thank you so much
People with knowledge of mechanics usually go for the most difficult part of any job first. Installing the rings of rubber made out of old used tires is the most difficult to align so the sprocket is straight. Carbon rings!? Lol .
What an amazing jump in quality from the outdated video!! This is great content, thanks for making it. I have a question, as I'm looking at kits online (so many!!), I can never tell if one is complete or if I need to get things with it, which drives the price up. There are always things offered with the kit, and I never know if they are necessary or not.
+Arthur Sperotto Thanks! Almost all the kits include everything you'd need, and should run about $140.A lot of the ad-ons are for performance enhancers that really don't do much in my honest opinion.
@@RCexperimental I really like this video it helped me out but is there anyway I can do this without cutting though fiber disks
@@Parsa8237 unfortunately the only (very impractical) way to not have to cut the disk (you only need to cut 1 of them btw...just the one that goes inside the wheel) is to remove all of the spokes on that 1 side...put the disk in...& then reinstall all of the spokes again.
Short answer...yes...but cutting it won't be a problem as the installed sprocket will hold it together again after it is installed.
This is totally awesome. I sent it to my love, he's doing the same thing. Good work bro.
did he build one?
does this work with BMX hibam
What size is the BMX?
What kind of bike and kit did you use specifically? They seemed to work so well together it would be super helpful to know! Thanks :)
but my bike is 24 inch wheels. How will I install it on there?
it should work
You fucking idiot v frame
Would you like a refund
how much did it cost for this build how much experience does one need to mount that kit how long did it take you
YEAH,Chek DEEZ Nuts Regularlee (2:02)
DON'T tighten the first two engine mount nuts down tight like he says put both mounts on loosely then tighten all four nuts together to assure better alignment of mounts
that's cool !!! How much for the kit??
the kit i bought was $112.00 but i saw one on ebay that was $99.99 and today it dropped to $95.00
can you put a link where you bought it from please?
yeah pls!!! The link!!!

Good presentation. Noisy though needs a better suppressor.
Just curious how reliable are these engines, how long would it last before requiring a rebuild? Also is there a way to quieten them down?
hi there I'm very interested in buying this but am not sure on uk law?
In most places it's somewhat unclear if these are road legal, I've talked to a few police officers about it and generally the consensus is that if you're careful and respectful you can get away with it.
+RCexperimental can you give me link to this motor?
BEWARE - You need a special license for these! A stupidity license! These bike motor kits SUCK! I tried one a
few years back! And of course, I don't have it anymore. The crap just vibrated apart after a few hours of use! Also it messed up my old bike too! Later I resorted to just buying a few minibikes with 4-6 HP motors instead!
stephen gaertner it depends mayby you got a faulty product and there are different laws in different countries in sweden its legal where i live i own a scooter and im 13 and i drive it legally
stephen gaertner Maybe you just did a shitty job at assembling 😂
youre such a cool man i like you a lot and your talent for reinventing an ordinary pedal bike i hope i can have one done by you. thanks.
great video!
+TheBouncyGamer Thanks!

RCexperimental
what is the cost of the kit and where do you buy them?
is their anyway i can do this with disk brakes on my back tyre? i dont need my back brake just the front
He forgot to install the fuel filter
XD
It was connected to the fuel switch
If you check at 0:45 there was no filter in this kit?
7:18
It is not necessary, but it is good to be installed
Make sure to cut your chain to fit the clutch and sprocket or else it’s not going to run at all if too loose. It’s an extremely easy peasy thing to do.
lol :D , can u do a wheelie with this? :D
EstoniaPlayerHD yes and no... you can but you shouldn't puts a lot of stress on your bike
This guy is riding right near my old house I know that park👀
I also know exactly where you live. You live near the Safeway! Great video too.
Thanks for the video. I'm just starting out and your video was very informative. I live in Phoenix so I'm thinking I'd be better off with a 4 stoke engine - temp wise. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking my time researching everything so hopefully I won't come across too many surprises.
can you pls if you can tell me the links of the all items the engine and about all the parts that I will need because I dont know and I dont know and very good English pls?
You can save yourself trouble and just buy a Simple Engine kit. Here is the link for one.

Brother, I am Belal. I have seen your to build a motorized bike. Please, say me this engine size and where I found it?
Md belal did u find the engine size?
This guy bullyed my grandmas fish
Yaboi Tubby whaaa???
I'm about to build one, I have the kit and the bike.(much like the bike used) How practical is this for a five mile commute
this day i find a guy with this type of bike and i find your video random ^^ thx nice video ;)
+m. edu Thanks!
Just make sure you throw away the supplied rag joint sprocket assembly. Replace it with the Manic Mechanic clamshell sprocket adapter and sprocket. mmbikeparts.com
Should be step 1
How do you attach the throttle cable to the carb? I can't find instructions anywhere, and mine is just a cable and the needle in the carb, no connection points or anything to be seen.
.
Cool deal dude ! I would suggest using some lok tite (blue) I am in the planning phase, I think I am going to step it up a bit with 4 stroke 3hp from bike berry a little more expensive but more torque and engine life top speed 35 mph that complete kit is $269.00
the bike brakes and the chain gets hard without putting or using the brake, how do you fix it?? Is it possible that the motor is tied or the cloucth is stuck??
You said not to use a bike with disk brakes, may I ask why? Because I was thinking of adding a Jack shaft shift kit to the bike also to allow full use of the gears if possible. Is that something that can be done with the newer style of fat tire mountain bikes? Please let me know.
9:09 whn u flew by him!! He was lookn like!!..... ?? 😂😂😂👍
Weird Tech tip - you can use Elmer's Glue from preventing Nuts and Bolts from coming loose. it'll hold them On, but you can also take them off again. It doesn't get rock hard like super glue.
Which way should the sprocket face? Teeth facing in towards the wheel or outward toward you? I have a beach cruiser bicycle.
On the sprocket the concave side should be facing out no the convex side because It gives your chain clearance from the tire... when installing the sprocket tighten the bolt alternately
I love it! Thank you. I look forward to sharing my experience with you
Can you already buy the motor assembled or do you have to have it unassembled because it depends on the type of bike.
Could I put these on some power wheels
At 1:20 he said you will need a 26-inch v-frame bike. Is the 26 inches referring to the frame size or tire size?
Excellent video. Thanks.

Why do you suggest that we should not use a bike with disc breaks? I don't truly understand why not but as i want to have a go at this, I think its a good idea for me to know and you sound like the guy who knows :-) Also what price should we be considering paying for one of the kits? Any suggestions on where to get a kit from in the UK?
Thanks Liz
How does this man just throw the sprocket on and just tighten it down, when I did it the sprocket was not even
I just finished my bike and I can’t get it to start. All the wires are good and I don’t have a clue why it does not start?
Build one of these last year, lasted around 3 months then something happened to the motor, just got another kit and going to put it on next week!
Hi. I liked the way you worked and explained your project. I have a project myself but I don't know if it is gionna work. Maybe I could use some help from your experience. Where do you live/work? I am in Vancouver/Canada.
Ik heb liever een Puch maxi die wat stevig is een en wheelie kan maken, maar nog steeds goed gemaakt
Like the video but can I put it on my 24 inch full suspension mountain bike if so that would be great 👍 please let me know soon
I need to change the rear tire and am a bit intimidated. Any tips?
How much room should there be for the chain my chian has little to no room fear it may rub against tire or the kick stand bar that connects to the back tire
1) what about the white wire? 2) are the chain tensioner and chain guard nessisary
Great video, where does the white cable go? and how much oil should I use for 5L of petrol
I have one of those bike rims that has dual sprockets, how would the engine sprocket work?
do you think these kits would work on an old Stingray bike? that would much cooler.
My bike has about 12 inches of clearance between the bottom frame bar and the top one. Do you think it would fit? How big is this motor, exactly?
it's really hard to say, each bike is pretty different. But I've always been able to find cheap secondhand bikes it'll fit on. You won't really want to be peddling it much anyway so it doesn't matter if you put it on a junker bike, as long as the breaks are good.
super video! I just bought one but a question : how much oil % in a full tank?
I would love to see this on a vintage racing bicycle.
Tom Jacobs look at profile pic :P I did it on a 1986 Raleigh
Informative though I'm still wondering why one would put a Skyhawk 2 stroke 80 cc motor on a puke green mountain bike
Quit helpful but where can I buy all the parts would you help me with it
Hi i hope you will answer my question even after few years. So i bought this kind of engine, but from a different company. And i have there that same white cable and i have no idea what to do with it. I got engine a 2 or 3 days back and i was trying to figure it out and i was looking everywhere to find something about it, well i found nothing. And when i saw your video i gotta feeling you know stuff and that you can tell me what is that white cable used for. Cause i really don't know, it's bothering me quite alot, because i don't wanna mess it up. Thanks for answer.
Hi there, i have a question, i've just got My engine installed into My bike, but when i i'm running i feel it quicks too much but when i once i'm gaining speed gets smooth, is that normal?
What kind of gas mileage do we get with these motors? I have a 30 miles round trip from work to home. I usually ride my regular bike. But I am off by 1 in the morning and sometimes I am just too tired to pedal 15 miles to home. I have a 2.9 liter six cylinder car. It uses about 1.5 gallons of gas for a round trip to work. I wonder if I can use a motorized bike to ride to work. This will save me money and some energy from constant pedaling. Thanks for the answer.
It'd save you a lot of money for sure... With my best setup I was getting around 100 miles per gallon, but that was in town, lots of stop and go and accelerating as quickly as possible, basically driving like a hooligan. If you're just commuting you'll probably get higher. Keep in mind you have to mix oil with the gas so it will be a bit more expensive than just if it was 1 gallon of gas. Also, it's rather loud so if you're driving through residential areas at 1am people might complain.
I had this exact same kit installed on a bike and there are all sorts of issues with leaking fuel and the bike not getting up to speed. Do you have any videos for common issues or how to adjust the clutch based on outside temperature?
Can this work on a bmx? If not how do you do it?
iDunno.
So what is the fuel ratio for the first 3 tanks??? It says after the first 3 tanks go to 24:1.. but what's the first 3??
Can you get a kit what drives the gears already on the bike? Rather than adding another sprocket?
How much resistance is added when using the normal pedals? Is it significantly more difficult?
Would this work with a Schwinn stingray?
The Rage Squid badass
Sorry, how to fix muffler that pedals touching it? Thanks!
I have a schwinn oc chopper could you make a video on how to install the motor kit on this bike?
Hi how come my tire does want to turn it's like completely stuck and the is not turning what do I do. ????? plz help
im not sure how im supposed to wire the cables coming from the engine to the coil igniter. could someone please explai?
I think it's funny that you say to get the clams "as tight as possible" but later warn about the risk of breaking the exhaust studs on the cylinder head. All studs are capable of stripping, or breaking if you gorrilla them. Be careful when doing this, and a torque wrench is a great idea. You can rent them from a local autoparts store.
The exhaust studs on the cylinder head are typically a lower quality material than the studs on the engine clamp, and it's a less structural component of this build also. If the muffler loosens off the bike'll be a little louder, but if the engine clamps loosen the whole motor could shift or even come off the frame. The average user wouldn't bother with torquing the nuts, so this is why I make the suggestion to tighten the engine studs as much as possible but warn specifically about damaging the exhaust studs. All from personal experience building multiple motorized bikes.
Very very very excellent I like it
Will this type of motorized bike kit attach to a 700cc bike. I understand it's a little smaller than a 26" bike
The-Hang-Man yes but 700c rims are thin ...it would be better with a cruiser or a mtn bike imo
i have a bike with the chain on the right side. would i still be able to install this kit?
clear-and-concise....thankyou
