“Feels more like an expansion that a sequel” And that is fantastic in this case. It is infuriating when you love a game and the developers drastically change the gameplay in a sequel for changes sake.
I didn't know about that lawsuit. I loved the first DA on xbox!! Beat that game a few times. Would get off at work, head home and play the heck out of this when i first got it lol i did have this one as well but i didn't play it much... And idk why. It did get playtime from my cousins tho. I remember them playing part 2 having a blast with it. I have the new DA installed with game pass on xbox one and but haven't tried yet. Hearing bad things about it. But gotta try for myself. I hope they make that remastered version of this lile they did the first one. I still need to get that remastered one. Anyways great review and always entertaining here 😊 take care
This actually looks more like Gauntlet in terms of complexity and less like Diablo which intrigues me a bit more. I haven't played either of the BG games but I'll have to track then down.
Still have it for Xbox I think. I sold bgda1 long ago. I couldn’t beat the boss. Same thing with 2, but 2 allows a level 17 hero to restart the story. I found the atmosphere of both very good but liked the dungeons of 2 more.
Hey Popka, just have a question unrelated to the video since I had forgotten to ask you. Have you by any chance played The punisher 2005 game or done a video on it? If not I highly recommend it. It's an amazing comic book game :).
Wow, I never knew the Dark Alliance games had such a spicy history with their engine xD For some reason, I never knew these games hit the Big Green, I knew about the PS2 and eventual GameCube versions. Of course, in that era, so many RPG games skipped the Xbox :/
@@TheDaliPopka Especially since a handful of those PS2 RPGs chug here and there, I always wonder what they could have done with the power of the Green Machine
Personally I prefer the first game it just feels better, but I grew up playing this one on the ps2 so it still holds a lot of memories and is loved by me! Also, have you come across dungeons and dragons heroes? If you haven’t it’s definitely worth it! Literally pretty much the same as these except the combat is better I’d say. Also there’s the champions games on the ps2 a’nd those are great! Great review as always popka!
I didn't like this one as much as the original, some levels seem to drag for too long IMO. I'm a bigger fan of the Champions of Norrath games Snowblind developed for the PS2 which feel a lot more refined.
I can agree there are levels in here that felt like it took 2 hours to get through and it was ridiculous! You can tell that Snowblind had nothing to do with it. 😆
Sadly, it has been becoming a wild game to find, due to its demand. That's why I'm hoping it gets the remastered treatment the first one did so people get a chance to play it.
What I liked about BG:DA 2, is that starting classes are actually quite varied compared to the usual straightforward fantasy template in BG:DA 1.

They announced today a remastered version for PC & consoles (without trailer).

Playing the first one on the ps2 at the moment. A very fun game.

Worth the investment had a great time each play through with these games throughout my life

Not yet, but I’ve played it in the past and it is a wonderful game indeed! :)
Luvia Bloodmire, how I’ve missed you ❤️❤️❤️

A sad, sad truth. Imagine how many good RPGs the Xbox could've had if developers and publishers would've given it a chance.

Yeah, I need to cover D&D Heroes someday. :)
I still have no idea what the fuck a moon elf is supposed to be.
I’d like to think drugs were involved in the naming.
I hope they remaster both for current consoles and pc. I heard the new one isn't good.
Same for the Hunter The Reckoning Trilogy too.
Yes! Where's out H:tR trilogy dammit!? :D
Oh yeah I remember this game I got this game complete for $5 however the game itself was too scratched up to play it so I never got to play this game
I hate when that happens, hopefully that remaster becomes a reality!

I like the long lvls
It's this game like rare I can't see to find a copy I own one on the ps2 that I got for free but I don't seem to find this game on the while often

@@TheDaliPopka yeah the first game too I believe
Yeah, the classic RPG ones. I hope the Dark Alliance games get the same treatment.
This game also had a low print run because of all of the legal business. That’s why it has held its price.
Oh Interplay, you rascal, you!
Engagement comment.
Thank you
You two are getting engaged?
Looks like a diablo clone😂
Its broken
the new dark alliance sucked ass
I couldn't agree more :D
The remaster was horrible. I’m hoping for backwards compatibility instead of a remaster.
