I have a hunch that the mystery powder that was in the drawer was baking soda, they'll usually put that in wooden furniture to get rid of any bad smell in the wood! (etc, if the last person had food in there that rotted) or it was spilt baking soda on accident or maybe salt?

Yes! I was shocked how many people had pets in the dorms at my daughter’s school last year! My girl goes to Tenn Tech, and they allow it with a written form. (But you also have to ensure that your animal does not disturb anyone, that you keep your space clean etc. ) My daughter gained a room mate towards the end of the year b/c said room mate could’t take living with someone else’s cat when said person did not clean up after the cat. (Like ever)
This vid helped me so much im moving into my freshman dorm in 3 weeks and am scared that I won’t bring everything I need. However im super excited to decorate and you did such an amazing job!!
trust me it’s better to underpack than overpack!! i accumulated so much stuff during my freshman year that i had to get rid of a bunch of it bc it wouldn’t fit in my car during move out. i would recommend packing like you’re going on a one month vacation plus some storage and a little bit of decor
totally second the memo on overpacking!! trust me, you can always get what you need if you forget something - it's a lot harder to find space for a bunch of stuff you don't need

I’m actually using it as a layered rug rn, but I also got it secondhand and I love it so much!! Anyways just thought that was funny and had to share. Great job with all the decorating!

I did not know that they allow in dorms now. Cats I mean I could see if you can't see and you ever see an eye dog or something like that that would be more you know but I didn't know that they do this and stuff well. Things change for my era to yours
part of the equation is that the space you see in this video isn't actually all the space there is; there's a kitchen and living room, bathroom, and two other bedrooms aside from mine that he's allowed into. I was in a dorm this small with no extra space for a semester, and we did go on walks a few times a day when we lived there - but I will say that part of the reason we moved to this suite dorm was because I felt he was unhappy being so cooped up, even with the walks :( if you need to keep a cat in a small space like that, I would definitely recommend harness and leash training, playing with them lots, and just keeping plenty of enrichment to keep them occupied!

Lots of places hahaha, but for the most part I use postcard packs from artists and museums, and some a variety of randomly sources prints + thrifted frames. LMK if you want to know where a specific thing is from!! My best advice is really just to look into if your favorite artists sell prints :)

Adding small wallshelfs for ur cat to parkour, below and above the posters near the cat tree would give a cute decor wall and activity for ur cat 🎀
