This episode is ...ughh why? When the promos came up my stupid five-year-old's brain was thinking, "OMG Doggy! Maybe she'll be a new crew member and heartwarming will be our flavor of feels!" NOPE.
I remember watching this on my Portable DVD Player, when we went camping for 4 days (we just came back today), and I watched this episode. When Meow started crying and when he said "I wanted to play with her too, and now its too late!!", my feels began to take over and tears literally poured out of my eyes. DAMN YOU FEELS!
@Huables 76 Yeah, it does. It's been over years since my previous dog died. She had a stroke on a Sunday afternoon, and died the next morning as my dad was getting ready to take her to the vet. She died while on her favorite spot in my mom and dad's bedroom. I like to think that was how she wanted to go, surrounded by her human family as she left this world. I hope she was waiting for my mom some nine years later when Mom crossed over.
@Huables 76 I'm sorry for yours too. Even though we know death is part of life, it still sucks not to have the people and animals we love in the here and now. My mom really missed that dog, and I'm sure a bunnylike tail was wagging when a certain creamy colored Standard Poodle saw her human mom coming to the Pearly Gates.
TLDR; I used to have a drug problem, and the only person who was always there was my pup. No matter how much I and everyone else was disappointed in me, she always wagged her tail and snuggled with me when I was having withdrawals and mental episodes. To me she literally was an angel that held me together. We lost her to cancer a few years ago and it was no different to me than losing a human family member. After she passed, I was lucky enough to experience some VERY lucid dreams with her (I’ve literally never had those before or since). And just cried, hugged her, rubbed her belly a few last times, and was at complete peace. I feel like she was too. I really hope I see her again somewhere 🐶

Nah this is just a tribute to the first dog sent into space by the user. In reality she was lost when her cabin overheated after her 4th of what would come to be 2,570 orbits of the earth. Alot of space shows will have a tribute of a dog that looks like her lost somewhere on a distant planet. I suppose we like to imagine that the dog had a chance to know how much it was loved by the world even after her death.

Fun fact this was made in dubbed first
If you actually gave some dub chance there’s some really really good ones. Not every anime is bad in English.
