- For some reason, even though a 1.20 snapshot is right around the corner, I decided to make a data pack that adds Chiseled Bookshelves early. Now I am the first one to use Chiseled Bookshelves, and you can be next!
EDIT: 1.20 is now out, and if you’re still playing on 1.19, you may as well just use the chiseled bookshelf in 1.19.4’s experimental features instead. This data pack became irrelevant pretty fast lol, but I USED THEM FIRST!

I think it’d add another cool level of difficulty for enchanting if you didn’t just craft bookshelves filled with books, but actually have to find books and fill it! Like as if you have to find or craft ancient text imbued with the power to strengthen the enchantments
Ibxtoycat also said that it could work by making it so that whatever enchantment books you put into the shelves youll get more of when enchanting
You could make the first book on the shelf the list of the 5 other enchanted books on the shelf.

The bookshelf is in a nearly finished state, they just haven't released a snapshot yet.

Couldn't you recreate door number 50 in Doors using the chiseled book shelves?( but you have to collect all the books instead of figuring out the lock pad. ) Ik there are a lot of flaws in the idea, but maybe it's possible. Also, nice job on the textures, they look absolutely identical.

this might be my favorite 1.20 feature (though it is going against some very meh competition so far), I just don't understant the logic of the name though, chiseled? we should be able to use a stonecutter on it

The ONE problem with this is that when it's enabled, everyone online constantly gains large amounts of these put directly into their inventory.
can you please fix your inventory data pack please its such a great consept but there is a bug that completetly wipes everything you have in your inventory if u go through a nether portal adn back please fix it
used these on a realm i made recently with some friends and they all got glitched or something and we aren’t able to remove any books from the shelves or place more books in the shelves. the books nor the shelves drop when broken either. very buggy item even for an experimental feature essentially unusable.

Hello BockLocker! This video is amazing! The biggest reason being that your creation is better than mojang's because you can place and take a book from a specific spot on the bookshelf (mojangs makes it so you take and put the books in a specific order). Anyway apart from that I have to ask you does posting youtube shorts and normal videos affect your view count. Knowing the fact that being consistant on youtube will cause more views, will uplaoding an extra short video break that consistancy? Thanks for your advice!
Shorts can get great views over a short period of time, but from my limited experience it's longer videos that will be more successful over a longer period of time (guess it kind of makes sense if you think about it).
Of course, as you said, consistent uploading is the strongest factor in UA-cam success, and since I always take month-long breaks that's probably why my views go up and down so wildly lol. Extra shorts don't seem to break that consistency from my experience, just seems like an easy way to get something out there when the next project is in-progress.
