Not in this case, you simply unplug the mirror to add the adapter.

is your forester a US version? the hidden connector for the auto dimming mirror is not there in my Forester.
I'm in Canada. I think the auto-dimming mirror comes as a package in US?

I haven't shared a video file yet, still waiting to capture something special. There are many videos available, look for Viofo A119 v3.
Great video! Do you know how many volts this plug can provide? I have a VIOFO A129Pro Duo dashcam. I wonder if the power from the auto-dimming mirror plug can support both the front and rear dashcams?
That's a good question, I don't have an answer for you unfortunately. Maybe look at total power consumption then contact the maker of the adapter
