- Lagoon promised its newest attraction would open this year. With just nine weekends before the season is over, one woman asked Matt Gephardt to investigate: where’s Primordial?

Imagine having to repeatedly talk to this woman asking about updates on a rollercoaster. As if they wouldn’t instantly spread the press if it opened. Lady literally became the “are we there yet?” kid
Imagine as the world is crumbling that you're worried about a roller coaster ride...sigh.
Well, this was a rare fail. Matt Gephardt didn't help or solve anything. In fact, he didn't get any further than every other person duped into buying season passes.
We bought season passes 8 yrs. straight and always felt that we got great value with our purchase. Sometimes rides are down, but there are plenty of other rides that are a lot of fun at Lagoon.
First experienced the Lagoon in 1965-66; great place, and there were many rides, it was just fun; 1968 I had a date, and we saw The Association. Fun times.
most anticipated event in utah ??
Season passport holders just got emails to schedule their reservations for the ride. Ride is confirmed open.
This ride was just a bad idea. In 7 years they could have installed at least two high quality rides and pronably have spent less money. A Vekoma MK1101 and a small B&M would have been a much more impactful investment.
The ride is actually being re-themed with Donny and Marie Osmond animatronics in time for the Halloween nights. She's a little bit country and he's abit rock and roll ... 🦇🦇🦇 🎸🎙️
The exact opening date for primordial is September 15
People who think you can build a massive ride, show building, and complicated ride control and interactive systems on a fixed timeline have no clue. Yeah, we built it, now does it actually work. Okay, what needs fixing. Okay, is it safe... gotta test it, a lot. It's gotta work every time, repeatedly, all day long, for months. Can it handle that, do we see wear and tear we shouldn't? Gotta fix that. Of all the phases of ride building this is the most critical and the least defined in terms of time. It'll be ready when it's ready is really the only answer anyone can give. Even Disney refuses to set hard dates until the test/adjust is largely complete.
So she buys season passes every year but this year she only bought them because of the new ride... SURE...
We went twice this year hoping it was open. But we still had an amazing time. I’m disappointed it’s not open yet but don’t think it’s a news worthy story.
Lagoon pulled a Busch Gardens/ Six Flags
If you raised prices on the promise of a new ride, and then didn’t deliver, your customer do have a right to be pissed…perhaps some token of appreciation should be in the offering for those who bought 2023 season passes if they agree to renew (like, i don’t know, maybe a freebie of some sort, like a souvenir or a promotional piece of merch?)
I'm getting so fed up with lagoon, charging disney prices for a six flags tier park.
It’ll open in late September or early October I’m guessing
The virtual queue idea is going to be a nightmare for staff dealing with guests that didn't get into the queue. They need to learn from Disney's mistakes.
What day is the roller-coaster going to be ready for people to ride on
