The heavily implied sad ending for Issac is one of the few things I always had a problem with within the series. I've always thought of the story as a tale with a light at the end of the tunnel. That despite all that he and others went through, they kept hope "Alive" by their actions. Instead of being like the unitoligists and allowing despair to kill them and allow "Death" to spread and "Consume" them. And yet they still had nearly everyone die in the end.
I heard that the reason it's called Dead Space because within the lore, the Brethen Moons (which are basically little more than gigantic sentient necromorphs themselves) have destroyed so many planets and species that there's nothing alive in most parts of Space. It's mostly dead. And the scariest most fucked up thing about them is the Brethen Moons seemingly exist for no other purpose than to consume planets and create more of themselves. We don't even know their origin and where the fuck they come from. But it is worth noting that also within the lore, the first Red marker sent to Earth made contact 65 Million years ago and is what killed all the dinosaurs. However it wasn't discovered until the 22nd or 23rd century. There's also a theory that the Red Marker sped up the evolution of humanity and is partially responsible for our heightened intelligence when compared to other animals.
Dead space field is a a radius around the markers that for some reason don't allow necromorphs to enter. It's one of the only safe spots around. Right next to the markers. Yum

The developers wanted to create a Dead Space 4, where Ellie was the protagonist and they would have found a way to end the Necromorphs but might have been 'sorry that they did'. Personally, I think Isaac ending up taking Nicole's role and becoming a 'harbinger' of the moons would be a really ironic yet poetic twist to his character - at the end Isaac could recognize that killing him would mean killing the moons, and beg Ellie (the player character) to shoot him dead. In a way, Isaac's fate has become so intertwined with the Necromorphs that killing the villains also means sacrificing the hero.
One thing they really didn’t mention in this video is that the markers manipulate people, it makes you take actions to further it’s goals, and if you’re smart it gives you the knowledge to make more markers, in dead space 2 one of the logs in the market test lab one of the scientist says “the marker is making us make it, I don’t think we were ever in charge of this project”, if you’re not it just makes you regular insane

This video makes me feel SO bad for Isaac, for having to deal with crazy alien outbreaks, deaths of his friends, having hallucinations and literally having a NEEDLE go through his EYE. and speaking of which, that scene is still hard for me to watch, in fact, it's the reason why I didn't watch Dead Space videos for the longest time.

Just gonna say that I’m pretty sure that ya’ll didn’t know this a couple years ago but Isaac’s mom also killed his dad and then himself in the name of Unitology.
Yes this is what I need, I already planned on playing through all the dead spaces through October since it's been years and you know just trying to get that hollows spirit back.
Man, saying Isaac Clarke is built different hits harder and is a real understatement when you consider that he makes the list for the oldest mortal survival horror protagonists in video games clocking in at 43 years old in Deadspace 1, 49 years old by Deadspace 3 and carrying around a minimum of 60lbs of kit at all times using Deadspace 2's first store's scales (number is the projected weight of his CEC Engineering Suit from Deadspace 1 equipped from his straight jacket); as a reference, that's like walking and running around in especially heavy plate armor. EDIT: Of course, the CEC Engineering Suit has an exoskeleton so he's probably getting some support for carrying it but probably not as much as you would think. tl;dr Isaac Clarke really is just a dusty Space Knight and if you consider necromorph's to be unholy creations then he's a Space Crusader instead.
Isaac was like Butters from South Park but for video games, a likable good ladd that got shite on constantly 😕 he’ll always be one of the best protagonists for me, along side Cole McGrath and DoomSlayer
Hey man you got more characters to work with. Shit we got Claire and Ada. We got Watch dogs 1 and 2. We got Captin price from the modern warfare trilogy. Get on the recapping bro!!
There's a reason why issac Clarke became one of if not my favorite VG character. Mans truly had a rough life from his relationship with his mother Screwing him over to being used and abused during and after the events of Deadspace. Truthfully imo he's wat leon should've of been post RE2
I saw someone say this about dead space 3 being more action than horror, it went something like: "In DS1 Issac is scared of the horror that lurks within the Ishimura therefore the player is scared, and by the time DS3 comes around Issac knows how to handle the threat pretty well so Issac isn't scared therefore the player isn't scared"
Lesson from DS1 till ds 3 is No matter how much Isaac is betrayed , tortured , or get NTR-Ed by Norton the only one who always stay with Isaac no matter how shit the situation is the Plasma Cutter that Isacc used in entire Ds Series *Edit : IM dumb is plasma cutter a weapon? Or is it just a tool for cutting materials?
You wanna know what makes this "Isaac Clarke" character incredible?... He's not a solider, like he's no Samus Aran, Doomslayer, Jim Raynor and he's definitely no Master Chief. He's just an ordinary engineer trying to survive, hell this dude has been through so much B.S. that no amount of therapy would make him forget everythinghe experienced.
It's actually explained in Dead Space 2 that EarthGov built their Giant Marker because it produces a fuck-ton of energy, energy being the most important resource mankind has got! Remember from the lore, before Planetcrackers were a thing, Earth was embroiled in what was know as the Resource Wars! So Markers in very-strictly controlled space which can produce that much energy could actually power entire worlds by themselves! The stakes were high and it is not unreasonable to understand Tiedmann's motives in the 2nd game. He's still a prick of course, but like many others before him: "The ends justify the means", and Isaac unfortunelaty had to suffer for it...
Honestly, a prequel surrounding the book would be awesome af, like you’re playing as Altman, the “founder” of the Unitologists and his fight for survival and escape

Yes yes!!
After playing the remake. Man it makes Isaac more of a tragic character like damn nothing is easy for him
Yh i just finished the remake, he couldn’t save anybody, his wife killed herself, his friend turned out to be a spy traitor, his teammates dead, and he saw so much death and violence and scary creatures, and now he has mental illness and ptsd, makes resident evil look like childs play lol.
@@mattmedrala1947 now that's a good ending
One thing they really didn’t mention in this video is that the markers manipulate people, it makes you take actions to further it’s goals, and if you’re smart it gives you the knowledge to make more markers, in dead space 2 one of the logs in the market test lab one of the scientist says “the marker is making us make it, I don’t think we were ever in charge of this project”, if you’re not it just makes you regular insane
If there's one thing that slipped past me on DS3... how long before people realize their government was wiped out?
Isaac Clarke is easily my favorite horror protagonist. He’s a total badass and he didn’t even mean to be one
The honest history comeback!!!
Yessir
I just want Isaac to get a hug after all his has gone through.
It’s Time for some History🙌🏽
HELL YEAH!!
To this day, I'm still saddened that EA discontinued the DS series. It's one of my most favorite, period. But, I'm happy and fckn excited they're remaking it. I've literally prayed for it... for years. It actually came true. Anyway, dope video as always.
I heard they're also bringing back scrapped ideas that didn't make the final cut.
Dude they destroyed Dead space with number 3 turned it into a 3rd person shooter essentially.
@@AbeSimpson321 Yeah, man. They definitely did a poor job with DS3. Thanks to EA just wanting to keep up with the Joneses. They saw how well the Resident Evil/etc games sold, and wanted that kind of money. Oh well, the Remake is here, and it's actually fckn good too. 🔥😀
Man Isaac is still riding that badassery train while simultaneously being the most tragic hero in gaming.
Edgy master chief.
Finally! MORE HONEST GAMING HISTORY! Next time you wanna take a hiatus think; “Welp…Can’t have that.”
Haha yessir. More Honest Gaming History on the channel. Making it a mission to drop 3 a month
Thank you. You have know idea what your content brings to my life 💯
Wow, Isaac is going through hell and back from all of this. How did he not go insane after all that!?
He uh.. Did.
If somehow there was a dead space 4 would isaac even have a chance against all the brethren moons or will it end the way its named space will actually be dead
I feel like Isaac would find a way
Anybody else feel like Issac and Doomguy would be best friends?
I could see it. They are both masters of struggling lol
Doom guy at least didn’t get this much L shoved up his gullet.
No
That game gave me so much ptsd ahhh the memories I curse out the guy who made that game back then
Isaac life is just a rollercoaster of ptsd
I didnt relize he just release this
Always happy to see one of your videos and can’t wait for the wolfenstein series
Thanks for watching fam
Lara Croft:eu I'm the character who gets screwed the most in Games.
Issac Clarke:Understandable, have a nice day.
Honestly Isaac needs one hell of a break and a LOT of therapy.
HELL YEAH!!
I'd like them to redo 3 in its entirety. The story is good, but it's not horror, it's action. They need to reform it into the horror game that it was ment to be
2 was action oriented
@@totallynotbrucewayne6215 was it? I didn't get the same feeling as 3. 2 had "more" action in it than the first, I'll admit, but it maintained the raw horror aspect of it.
3 knew what it was. I knew how "scary" it was gona be the moment Issac was saying "turn it ooooff" repeatedly at the wall...could've swore he was telling us to shut off the game 😂
Dead Space is one of my favorite games of all time. With character development and has an impressive storyline behind it all. Overall, I’m glad that it’s still known and still relevant to this day!😎😎😎
Isaac Clarke is my favorite survival horror protagonist of all time. Not just from this video but from just playing with him and knowing his history.
This is what I have been waiting for.
Ayeeee
Yo u finally made a video on dead space one of my fav games of all time bro I’m so hyped for the remake I’ve played all the games since I wus lil
Ayee I'm glad you liked it
Man, Isaac and Guts would be really best buds...
Oh hell yeah
Alongside Goblin Slayer
That really how his Story ends?
The F*ck is that?!
It's Lovecraftian/cosmic horror I guess
Yup. No happy endings here lol
@@TupocalypseShakur Reminds me of Bloodborne I love each Ending.
A new vid let's go.
HELL YEAH!!
This man walked into hell and hell started crying.
Just gonna say that I’m pretty sure that ya’ll didn’t know this a couple years ago but Isaac’s mom also killed his dad and then himself in the name of Unitology.
I find it amazing that the remake somehow improved a near masterpiece in almost every way. God I love the remake
I'm really glad it's doing well
Yes this is what I need, I already planned on playing through all the dead spaces through October since it's been years and you know just trying to get that hollows spirit back.
Enjoy that playthrough
A new HGH after so long bruh😩YESSSSSS!!!!!!
Yessir!!
Even the worst part, he had to fight Zeus in another dimension and STILL came out victorious
This was a good damn video, and explained everything so well without dragging it out. Well done.
I really enjoyed Dead Space 3 just for the fact that Issac finally had a partner plus we can't even lie John Carver's suit is HARD.
I hope they can finish the story
Same here
My man was in his late 40’s when all this shit went down
Man, saying Isaac Clarke is built different hits harder and is a real understatement when you consider that he makes the list for the oldest mortal survival horror protagonists in video games clocking in at 43 years old in Deadspace 1, 49 years old by Deadspace 3 and carrying around a minimum of 60lbs of kit at all times using Deadspace 2's first store's scales (number is the projected weight of his CEC Engineering Suit from Deadspace 1 equipped from his straight jacket); as a reference, that's like walking and running around in especially heavy plate armor.
It don’t even matter who you do next! I’m watching it! Thanks for the upload!!
Thanks for the support fam
They were going to make Dead Space 4 so yeah Issac is alive
Isaac was like Butters from South Park but for video games, a likable good ladd that got shite on constantly 😕 he’ll always be one of the best protagonists for me, along side Cole McGrath and DoomSlayer
This is fatcs
@@TheBlackMastadonte butters video when?
"Isaac that's a really bad idea..."
"Stick around, I'm full of bad ideas."
Hey man you got more characters to work with. Shit we got Claire and Ada. We got Watch dogs 1 and 2. We got Captin price from the modern warfare trilogy. Get on the recapping bro!!
You right you right
There's a reason why issac Clarke became one of if not my favorite VG character. Mans truly had a rough life from his relationship with his mother Screwing him over to being used and abused during and after the events of Deadspace.
Truthfully imo he's wat leon should've of been post RE2
I relate with issac Clarke. I been through hell but it's not the necromorphs I was worrying about its was my crazy/normal dad
Issac has PTSD on the highest level
Indeed
Lesson from DS1 till ds 3 is No matter how much Isaac is betrayed , tortured , or get NTR-Ed by Norton the only one who always stay with Isaac no matter how shit the situation is the Plasma Cutter that Isacc used in entire Ds Series
*Edit : IM dumb is plasma cutter a weapon? Or is it just a tool for cutting materials?
You right lol. And yeah I think the Plasma Cutter is just a tool lol
“Showing his face for the first time!”
*not me just turning the camera around at the start of the game when he didn’t have his helmet on*
Congrats on getting 140K subs!
Thank you so much 😀
You wanna know what makes this "Isaac Clarke" character incredible?...
He's not a solider, like he's no Samus Aran, Doomslayer, Jim Raynor and he's definitely no Master Chief. He's just an ordinary engineer trying to survive, hell this dude has been through so much B.S. that no amount of therapy would make him forget everythinghe experienced.
Completely agree
You mean to tell me Issac is super sayan level crazy? he fought A FUCKING MOON!!!!!
Damn they really did isaac dirty
Worse than dirty yo
Yes yes yes yes honest gaming history
Ayyy conscience is back play that intro son
YESSIR
Isaac been through so much trauma he makes us army soldiers from afghanistan look like toddlers
The more hell you going through the stronger you becoming i guess?
Took that saying that in space no one can’t here you scream
on the brink of madness? bro he had marker induced amnesia he literally did go mad 😭
Yeah. I'm actually thinking about doing a video about the books
@@TheBlackMastadonte, please. I read it in like 2012-2013ish as a 14, 15 year old and now I’m rereading it as a 23 year old
I found that sad this dude was used to prop a religion about the markers when he wanted them all annihlated
bring back the honest manga history of shaman king
Oh I know damn well how terrifying space can be. There are many things within outer space that is just beyond nightmare fuel but also just brutal & screwd up in the most foul of ways that will just leave no mercy
Came back to this video. Seriously, these Honest Gaming History videos, much like Isaac Clarke, are *BUILT. DIFFERENT.*
Also, who was the badass who did the artwork for the characters Donte & Conscience?
Thanks fam. The credits for the artists are in the description
13:04so basically human instrumentality from evangelion dead space edition
At the end of dead space humanity finally lost. There was no good ending.
In Space, no one can hear you scream.
Hopefully the DS Reboot leads to that DEAD SPACE 4 we were teased.
Yeah I really hope so. Isaac doesn't deserve an ending like the one he got
I read the title as "The Dark Souls of Issac Clarke" and now I've realized just how much time I spend on the internet lmao
ah Isaac. Doomguy's classmate in college
Lmao yeah I can see it
If I had a nickle for every protag that fights a god damn moon, I'd have at least two. Which might not be a lot but it's hillarious that it happened twice.
My man Isaac will have trouble trying to enjoy vacation on the beach
I was bout to go to sleep, nah, I'm gonna watch this video at least 4 times
Lmao thanks for watching fam
Before the whole DS shut down a fourth game was suppose to come out with a way to destroy all the moons but we won’t know what that way is because the creators of dead space don’t want EA making another cash grab like they did with DS3
Damn...that would've been a good 4th game
Here’s an idea for another HGH vid, Talion, the Gravewalker, from Shadow Of Mordor and Shadow Of War.
Thanks for the suggestion
@@TheBlackMastadonte no problem man. But be warned, Talion’s story involves him taking numerous L’s. He went from getting killed in a ritual sacrifice along with his wife and son, then resurrected by the wraith of Celebrimbor, to becoming an absolute menace to Mordor in the name of vengeance, then being betrayed, and forced to take one of the Nazgûl’s (Ringwraith’s) rings in order to keep himself alive, but eventually falling in line and becoming a Nazgûl himself. Forced to follow the Dark Lord Sauron’s will until Frodo destroyed the One Ring. Yeah, poor guy never really got a break.
If every human was built incorrectly/different than Isaac was built correct
