Hey Congrats on the new baby! Lalo, The Warning's sound engineer, revealed how the Muse tour came about in a Spanish language interview. Last January, Muse was going to play four shows in Mexico. The Pretty Reckless was scheduled to open for Muse. Rudy, The Warning's manager knew the Pretty Reckless people, since they had toured together before. He offered some of The Warning crew if they needed help in Mexico. They told Rudy that they were going to cancel the tour. I guess it was too difficult for them. Rudy then called the tour promoters and arranged for The Warning to open the four Muse shows. They got the news one week before the tour started. Anyway, the Muse guys hung out with Dany, Pau, and Ale after each show. They got along so well that Matt invited them over to Europe for five more shows.
Compare that to how Guns 'n' Roses treated them when they opened for them. From what I've read, not one member of the band ever even took the time to say hi, much less hang out with them.
Not only did Dany get to talk with Matt Bellamy from Muse. The Warning was the opening act for Muse on 4 shows in Mexico and Muse was so impressed with The Warning that Matt himself sat down with them after their last show and asked them if they wanted to tour Europe with them later in the year. In recap they opened for Muse 4 shows in late January and February of 2023 in Mexico, then toured Europe with Muse and Royal Blood in April and May by the personal invitation of Matt Bellamy! Dany is not new to Manson Guitars. She had a matte black Manson a few years ago, but I believe she auctioned it at one point to help the band financially. That was my favorite of her guitars. Have you seen their cover of "Resistance?" If not, be sure to watch it some time.
This and Ale and Pau's were shot at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago. Cool thing that is the only time I saw them live. She has nick named the Yellow manson Bumble Bee. Muse filmed Matt gifting her the guitar but they have not released it yet. Dany is double jointed and has longer then normal fingers
Gotta do Ale’s and Pau’s also…. Dany knows her stuff “but can be a little incoherent at times” lol (that’s Dany’s own words)… where as Pau is super specific as you would expect (and is “a heavy hitter”, as she has to deal with in her kit design) and Ale is extremely technical and a perfectionist, but they all know their stuff…. And note how all three mention being gifted instruments, although Dany is the one with the legendary front persons having guitars custom made for her all the time lol… can’t beat that
Pau said in an interview when they're working on lyrics, Dany will come up with some unattached mess of words that Pau called bluuuuhhh, and then Ale and Pau would make sense out of them....:)
Not to take any significance away from Matt gifting Dany a guitar but he has been extremely generous to a few different up and coming guitarists over the years. IMO, that speaks equal volumes about the character of both parties involved. I have no doubt that someday Dany will pay it forwards as well. I know for sure from Lzzy’s own comments that she was gifted a guitar earlier in her career and instructed to do the same to a guitarist that caught her eye. I’d bet Matt had a similar experience.

Luis understood clearly right from the start how to use all the new social medias to build an fanbase and get exposure and economical support. Something Rudy put even more focus on. I haven't come by another new band that have put the same effort into posting loads of content on all platforms and activily trying to connect with fans, in a similar way as UA-camrs and influences often do. This work are paying off big time, in a fast growing, very supportive and enthusiastic fanbase. That anything TW get an lot of views, do just return as even more interest from companies, medias and the music world. They was able to get the self-energizing machine spinning.....
I’ve only ever played with 10’s, briefly tried 9’s but way too light for me, can’t imagine using 8’s. Billy Gibbons play 7’s, must have a light touch ha! Matt Bellamy is a major shareholder in Manson, so yeah pretty well connected 👍
I tried 8s after hearing Steve Lukather talk about them and I just love how easy they are to control with bends and stuff. But I get it. They feel a bit wimpy. 😅
Matt Bellamy gets it, and while some other rockstars might also get it, the vast majority are very self absorbed to notice the up and coming bands, even though these bands take them as reference and were or are inspired by them. In order for the genre to evolve (no pun intended), the “classic rock snobs” need to be open to the new sounds and new ways of playing music. The significance of the gifted guitar goes further than just being a gift; it is the symbolic “passing of the torch” from one rock generation to another to continue the legacy.

Any type of gear talk is always the best. As a bass guitarist for 34 years now, I was a tone chaser (took me forever to figure out what I really loved and needed for my sound). When I saw this video on Digital Tour Bus's channel I was glued to my screen and can fully relate to Dany. She's not just a musician, she is a gear head (a rare breed of musician). She knows wants in her sound, how the axe feels (she's only 5'1" smol (small in a cute way according to her)) in her hands is very important. Her actual rig is an Orange 4x12 cabinet with that very mini head and two more full size Orange tube heads). That Mesa Boogie 4x12 cab is what she tours with. A few years ago Dany used the Line 6 Helix LT pedal board (ua-cam.com/video/qdzZHL32_IY/v-deo.html) and really loved it. Not sure when or why she made the switch to Kemper (possible limitations with the Helix LT??? Possible Kemper artist endorsement???), but if Dany loves what the Kemper can do than all's right with the world! Being that Dany is a piano player I'm not surprised that she has strong fingers with a small hand. There is a pianist/violinist/guitarist, Yevette Young from Covet, that uses that uses thicker strings because she kept bending/kinking the strings (her hand strength must be insane), she used 13's but has switched to 12's when on tour because she was playing so often that it started to hurt her fingers (she says she still uses the 13's at home). I believe Miyako of Lovebites (another piano player) uses 10's, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Congrats on the Baby! Being that this was a smaller venue tour for less than 2 weeks, they flew in to meet their driver with the rental tour bus. Dany didn't have her larger assortment of gear, like they have on bigger tours, and fully loaded transports. Digital Tours is out of the same city that this was recorded, so we get what they got. I think using 10’s for her gives her stability since she’s doing both the lead and rhythm. Lighter strings can easily snap or go out of tune when you’re doing some hard rhythm strumming. And she doesn’t do string gymnastics (which I don’t care for) that put some strain on the fingers. She just need enough bends to convey the music.
You know, like you, I play 9's, and 8's when I can find them, with medium picks. If you think about it, playing 10's makes sense for her because she can't concentrate on close technique, so using stiffer strings makes it less likely she would pull chords out of tune. Also, without doing virtuosic leads, she doesn't need the flexibility.
During Lzzy's first tour (2005), her guitar broke down. Jason Todd from the band Shinedown and Seether gave her the Gibson. Lzzy thought it was a loan and wanted to give it back. But Jason said no, because he had previously bought the guitar as a gift. If Lzzy ever met another guitarist who impressed and inspired her, she was to pass the Gibson on. Well, apparently Lzzy didn't take it lightly, because it took her 18 years to do it...I think that says a lot about Dany's talent.
I have a question. If you watch live shows of The Warning there is a microphone laying down in front of the amp. I assumed that was going to the front of house to the PA system. I’m definitely no expert. I’ve just been to a lot of concerts. Seen The Warning 3 times. Oh yea Ale cabinet does the same thing.
Monitors, either stage or In-Ears would be my guess. Another guess after watching them setup/tear down is Both guitars wireless pedal boards go to the main sound board, then to the PA, but a splitter is used with cables for the stage amps/cabs. I believe that the IEM's are all controlled by Carlos on stage and he adjusts the levels during the shows for them, freeing up Lalo to work his magic on the main board.

I have a question. If you watch live shows of The Warning there is a microphone laying down in front of the amp. I assumed that was going to the front of house to the PA system. I’m definitely no expert. I’ve just been to a lot of concerts. Seen The Warning 3 times. Oh yea Ale cabinet does the same thing.
Monitors, either stage or In-Ears would be my guess. Another guess after watching them setup/tear down is Both guitars wireless pedal boards go to the main sound board, then to the PA, but a splitter is used with cables for the stage amps/cabs. I believe that the IEM's are all controlled by Carlos on stage and he adjusts the levels during the shows for them, freeing up Lalo to work his magic on the main board.
