I come from Ireland and we STRIVE to pick up our melanin levels, even by sitting out in really high sun exposure (the rare time we get it!) when it damages our skin! Fake tanning is a huge thing here, we see melanin as being ‘healthy’ and if you’re very light then you look ‘sick’. Damn.. people here even use sunbeds which has been proven to be cancerous! All because we want darker skin🥺 I totally feel for you because I was always on the paler side, but my mum would tan for days! People couldn’t believe she was Irish! - I felt the odd one out. We all need to come to terms with the fact EVERYBODY is born with different skin tones, and our tones make us unique. We need to accept ourselves for who we are and that our skin doesn’t define us! Just because someone doesn’t appeal to it, doesn’t mean someone else won’t find you beautiful or attractive (and based on your picture, if that’s you.. I'm number 5 of six kids 4 sisters/1 brother and I have done a lot with my life. I have worked really hard and overcome a lot of obstacles. I've often been called the "golden child" I hate to think there is jealousy with my siblings and how they view me but I guess when you come from such a big family it's natural. I think envy also happens when the youngest child comes into the picture ! To be the baby of the family and be literally like the joy and the apple of the eye to ur parents it’s good but then u have siblings who sometimes are like calling u out but not to be spiteful but almost in a joking way like “ the youngest was spoiled “ “ the youngest gets away with more “ “ ! It’s like the equivalent of you having a child and then u bring ur child to see their grandparents and the child gets to do things that you weren’t able to do as a kid 😂😂😂
100%. As the youngest of 4 I can attest to this because I my mom definitely treated me different and was more aware of the mistakes she made with my brothers. She did that so I wouldn't repeat those incidents
100% I was jealous of my younger sister when we were kids. Her dads side of the family spoiled her so much and it felt like I was just the tag along like I’d get a Christmas gift but she’d get an expensive gift and such like that and whenever we’d get into fights, parents would take her side cause she’s younger and all that. I never jealous of my sisters, I'm extremely happy when they achieve things they want. Thats gives joy to my heart. One of my sisters is10years older than me, she takes care of her body from food she consumes, to workout. People always complement her and make comments about me, looking older than her. I believe being a "goodie tooshoes" could make it easier for a child to relate to a parent where they're not staying up at nite concerned and scared of whereabouts because you're living up to "Parent's" expectations and following the model of an ideal road. Individuality yessss!!!! A code I love by. With that being said, to me the definition of jealousy is being the epitome of what someone wished they could be. In my family, much attention is recieved when I don't even want it nor looking for it...whether it's the hair, the outfit, the makeup, the talk, the walk and etc there will ALWAYS be a compliment that I cannot control. As a mother, I promised to never cause "parental alienation" with my children by comparing them to one another when they get out of line as my mother does with me and my siblings. That behavior caused alot of hatred and resentment from my siblings towards me. At the end of the day we must first realize that each child has their own personality and must be treated as such. I have learned that by recognizing this it helps make discipline when it comes to them to go a whole lot smoother.

For someone who didn't have a lot I've learned to appreciate the little things. I believe being a "goodie tooshoes" could make it easier for a child to relate to a parent where they're not staying up at nite concerned and scared of whereabouts because you're living up to "Parent's" expectations and following the model of an ideal road. Where complications might happen is when I don't if comparisons are made and maybe one child was singled out and unresolved problems can resurface (and this maybe imaginative). Its how a person see themselves and any dynamics within fam's relating. For me I believe in individualism and when I grew up I did not have to do what my siblings are doing to feel inclusivity with this dynamic or appreciate their qualities because self esteem starts with self
Individuality yessss!!!! A code I love by. With that being said, to me the definition of jealousy is being the epitome of what someone wished they could be. In my family, much attention is recieved when I don't even want it nor looking for it...whether it's the hair, the outfit, the makeup, the talk, the walk and etc there will ALWAYS be a compliment that I cannot control. As a mother, I promised to never cause "parental alienation" with my children by comparing them to one another when they get out of line as my mother does with me and my siblings. That behavior caused alot of hatred and resentment from my siblings towards me. At the end of the day we must first realize that each child has their own personality and must be treated as such. I have learned that by recognizing this it helps make discipline when it comes to them to go a whole lot smoother.
