Absolutely speechless performance. right from Uthan to Avchaar to Kayda to Angustana to different Relas and to the exquisite Bandish's. The tempo at which it is played just leaves the listeners spellbound. I have said this before that to listen to Guruji's Tabla at that tempo also requires the tayyari of listeners' ears as well. Unbelievable tempo played with absolute clarity gives Guruji his independent place amongst the greatest of the Tabla players. One more important aspect is the way Guruji blends the 3 greats of Benaras gharana (Pt. Kishan Maharaj, Pt. Samta Prasad and Pt. Anokhelal Mishra) with equal weight and authority.
@@RishabhB Uthan is the speciality of Benaras gharana and the performance begins with it. After that there play Avchar which is similar to peshkar in other gharana. This starts in slow tempo in which laykari is done, moves in to medium and fast tempo at the end. Then kayda is played. In kayda there is an angustana kayda which typically has words dhingin played lightly on tabla chaati. Then rela which is fast paced bols of tirakita and dheredhere.. In Benaras gharana, bandish which means tukda, chakradhar, gat, fard, etc are played.
