this is superb. so helpful . We dont have tabla players who can do sungath with Kathak in Paksitan. they just dont know the art of playing the dance bols. the art got lost some 60 years back. Pandit Arvind Kumar has done a great job here. and thank you for publishing this Classical bug.

This is an excellent practical description of accompanying Kathak. Pt. Azadji is an excellent accompanist for Kathak artists. I have seen him live accompanying Pt. Birju Maharaj ji, Pt. Rajendra Ganganiji, Vishal Krishna and even Pta Sitara Devi ji, and others. His command over theoretical understanding is much higher than others. This is why when he accompanies artists, it clearly makes him stand out compared to others. Especially his jugalbandi with Pt. Gangani is a treat for audience.
