My name is Kevin. I hope you will enjoy my videos of my great new life of early retirement in Dumaguete in the Philippines. Come along on my island hopping trips to beaches, snorkeling, mountains, waterfalls and other Philippine destinations. I’ll introduce you to friends, so you can learn about dating, finding a place to live, restaurants, and best places to buy groceries.

I live is South Florida and they are everywhere. They are cute and come in different sizes, eat bugs and just chill. I love these little guys.
Same here, Michael. In Tagalog they are called, "butiki," pronounced "boo-TEE-key." I like watching them and studying their mannerisms ... I know they are doing their part eating up mosquitos and other pests.
@michaelorfanos7416 I am in Sflo also and they were swimming all over the place yesterday with the 12" of rain, we got.
Yall will be right at home….until a Philippines cobra comes in😂
Hawaii has those "legged snakes" also, they get all the bugs in the house that you don't get with the swatter 😅
I actually like them, but she’s terrified. I forgot that I left my bathroom window open. That’s how he got in
Sir Kevin i remember Patrick if the gecko will do a noise it sounds gwapo gwapo gwapo😅
Hahaha, that’s right 😂
The geckos eat flies and aints in our house.
Helpful, our cat in turn controls the geckos population 😂
I don’t mind them, but you see how Jennalyn feels about them 😂
if they keep the spiders out, I'm all for them.
They are harmless and good insect control! Keep them around ( the exterior of the house)
I like them, and think the big ones look cool. We had a mouse or rat in our attic that just disappeared. I think that big one got it
Dropping it was class........I have around four patrolling my home. They are fun to watch and keep all the other creepies in check.
Good video Tim. These little lizzards make singing noises at night. They are also all over Thailand.😊
It sounds like dirty singing though.
Malaysia, too.
Who is Tim? My name is Kevin 😂
You ywo are freaking awesome funny
It was fun😂!
Geckos are in the PC video game Fallout 2 (1999?) when your character is starting out with little-to-no weaponry. They're also in high end luxury resorts in the Philippines, you know, with the nipa hut room over the water.
I like em😉😂
That little guy is cute as a button.
Yes….until he bites 😂
"He's a little guy." Yeah, and when he's ready to settle the score, he'll be back with at least 4 or more friends because that's how they roll here!😂😂😂😂
I like them, except for when you wake up in the morning, and there’s crap on the walls. The big ones crap is like bird poop😂
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 At least it was not a snake. I have had that happen!
That was funny
It was exciting 😂
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65
Did you throw it on her ????? 😂😂
Great video! I would move if those things got that big around my house 😂
I don’t mind them but you can see how JL feels about them 😂
Surprised Filipinos aren't making adobo out of those.
I wouldn’t be surprised 😂
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 Just because it says chicken adobo on the menu, doesn't mean that's what arrives on your plate! 🤣🤣
@@SleepyJinPhilly-pw9so indeed, I'd eat one, gotta taste better than the dried fish.
I had one in my apartment in Sibulan. I just ignored him and let him do his thing.
I’m fine with them, as you can see…she’s not 😂
Those are harmless. I live in Florida and see all types of lizards, snakes, mosquitos, alligators, and flying roaches. Plus hot and humid weather, so I should feel at home in the Philippines.
I don’t mind them, but she’s terrified of them 😂. Worst thing is that they crap on the walls and the big ones are the size of bird poop
Fun!
Never a dull moment! At least it wasn’t a 6” huntsman spider….im not catching one of those…even with gloves
They eat small insects like roaches. They are good for controlling pest. The other smaller lizards the brown ones eat mosquitoes and flys.
I actually like them and would love to have a big one for a pet…but they bite
Great video
Thanks for watching Timin. We appreciate it
LMAO. I think a country boy will do OK :)
I had fun, but she was terrified 😂
Now that was funny
I enjoyed it, she was scared sh*tless😂
Grew up in rural Arkansas. I think I can handle them..........!!!
I don’t mind them, but you see what JL thinks about them 😂
I think if you find one in your home they are considered good luck.
I like them, but she doesn’t 😂
Man I wouldn't want to be in bed and have one crawl on me...... 😂
I saw him licking his chops.
They have a nasty bite. I’d hate to get bitten by an adult. They eat birds and rodents
Heh Kevin, dam gecko’s would make me go on a mission to get them out of the house. Question: I think there more active at night so do they mess with you while your sleeping? Or just chirp all night?
I actually don’t mind them, she does. The thing that I hate is that they crap on the walls and the big ones have bird size poop
No, Kevin, he IS saying "F#@K YOU!". I think you should try nets to catch them. I would think there are some ultrasonic pest devices to scare them away you could get for them. Small ones in the Keys were so common I used to cut their shapes in black foam sheets and sell them as book marks. They'd always get caught in door jams and crushed.
That’s exactly what it sounds like they are saying 😉
That’s a big one. We have here it’s called butiki.
That one outside was!
Poor jennalynne was gonna have a heart attack. Fun wildlife in the philippines
It was a good time 😂
She's from the Philly right ?????? I thought bug's are everywhere in the Philly, just like Louisiana 😂😂😂😂
They are normal in the Philippines. They stay on wall and I stay in bed. No problem so far.
I got better things to chase in bed than a lizard on the wall. 🤣🤣.
I hear that😂
Do they eat bugs, ants an spider in home?
Yes! They are VERY beneficial. I think that big one got rid of a mouse/rat that we had in our attic 😉
Just wondering what would happen if you had a cat in the house ?
You know, it’s crazy in the Philippines….cats and dogs get along here. Cats don’t chase things like they do in the US. I’ve seen pigeons walk right up to cats in Valencia.
If that size gecko can get into your apartment, then so can the snakes, even a small Philippines cobra, which would be far scarier to see slithering around the floor than a gecko on the wall.
Yes, most doors here are inefficient. We do have tree vipers in the property next door. Fortunately we have only had non venomous snakes that I have seen around the house. The gecko got in through my shower window though
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 I would like to see a tree viper when I get to the Philippines. I had snakes as pets when I was younger & was always fascinated by them but I wouldn't want to step on a poisonous one.
I've never heard of a Phillipines cobra..... Do they have the hood and spit like Indian cobras do ?
@@thatkajunguy8029 Yes, they do! but they are black in color.
@@napoleonmdusa8877
Thanks for your reply, I went looking them up after I wrote this, beautiful but deadly snake..
Meh, part of living in the tropics. I don’t mind these kind of critters. I’d much rather have a house gecko than have a house with the things the gecko eats.
😉👍🏻
The gecko's aren't so bad. We have lots. I do their clicking noises and they come over and look at me like 'now what'? It's the 7" long spiders that this arachnophobiac can't handle. And the kids play with the spiders 🤯
I was in the bathroom the other day and there was a huntsman spider about the size of my fist in my shower
I was in the bathroom the other day and there was a huntsman spider about the size of my fist in my shower
@@TooMuchTimeonmyHands65 that would freak me out. I would flush myself down the toilet to get away from that thing. 😱
Gis that more in the province
My friend in the province has a big one that lives under his bed. It comes out when he turns his table lamp on. He named it Gary. He’s not afraid of humans 😂

Bruh, I don't think I had ever seen a gecko at my house until after Hurricane Katrina, then there were hundreds of them under my carport.... After a few years they were gone, no idea where they came from or went to....... Most were the size of the little green lizards so no 1 footers.... We would have seasoned those up and threw em on the grill 😂😂😂😂
Gecko sauce piquant😉…tastes like alligator
What are some things you would definitely bring if you could go back before your "one way ticket"? My one way is in the beginning of September. I know I'll pack some Tony Chacherez's and file'...not sure what else might not be available (at least as far as cooking supplies). Hot sauce? Maybe some louisiana fish fry? Old bay seasoning?
Anyway, who dat?! Hope to meet you when I'm in the area for a lookaround. I'm about 80% sure that I'll settle around Tagaytay for the weather and I'll make an etoufee if you visit.
They eat insects, like ants and cockroaches, don't they?
The big ones also eat snakes, birds, and rodents 😉
Mainly Moths at night
Is it worse than Florida? At least those little guys aren't trying to smuggle a kilo of cocaine and decide to use your house as a hideout!🤔
These guys are great! They eat other creepy crawleys! Unfortunately, they crap on the walls and the BIG ones poop is like bird crap😂
Mini dinosaurs ….. no thanks
I don’t mind them, except for when they crap on the walls
I was thinking of bringing a bug bivouac and now I'm certain.
😂
