I love the fact that this video isn't the one people were probably expecting it to be. Cardistry needs more of this... it doesn't always need to be about bangers and new moves. Thank you Tobias!
@@Proactionguy Very true, he is truly on another level that I can only dream to reach. Absolute god-tier combos also i noticed in this video that there were some mechanics that seem so simple yet it feels so unique and new to my brain, the grips transfers are absolutely insane as well particularly the ones from 3:21 up to 3:24 its just so logical. Also there was this move on 3:57 right as he does “Whip” he opens the top packet and rotates the bottom packet around his left thumb, idk why, maybe im still just really a noob at cardistry (been doing it for about 4 years now), this move when you think about it seems so simple yet somehow it seems so new and unqiue in my head. It never occured to me once to even incorporate that to my combos. The grip transfers and the seemingly simple mechanics just feels like they make so much sense yet I would have never thought about doing them.
It's videos like this that make you want to pick up a deck of cards. Not to impress anybody, not to prove anything to anyone, but because you just love cardistry. There's always that therapeutic element to cardistry that keeps us coming back day after day, and this is a perfect encapsulation of that element in its purest form. Poetry in motion. What a wonderful viewing experience.
Yeah definitely.. for example im on a public places i just grab my deck of cards in my bag then do the moves thats i learn it hehe.. just because its give relaxing feeling when im doing cardistry hehe
I literally don't know how to comment. That's a first for me. Tobias, you are in such fine tune with the art it's actually on another level. The blood that runs through your veins is causing your hands to perform that of an art we can only view. From being a cardist myself since 2005 I can easy say that you have taken this to a different understanding. I can't begin to imagine how far you can go. But I'll sure be here for the journey and I'm 100% going to love watching the blossom. Thank you for making this. You have an amazing ability to inspire us.
We are still in the very beginning stages of this artform, cardistry is getting more and more noticed by normal people i've noticed nowadays, where 10 years ago I had to explain what cardistry was to alot of people I first met. Imagine in the next 100 years how far cardistry will go, the new generation of cardists, the new moves, can't wait. Funny story I have about how I got into cardistry, I remember the first time I met an OG in the cardistry community by complete coincidence once, don't know if he wants his name put out there though. Anyways I was only into magic at first, then I met this guy completely randomly in a city, friends with Zach Mueller, Nikolaj, Tobias, etc. I showed him my magic tricks and he figured them all out, then he showed me his cardistry and it just blew my mind, he was doing moves I've never seen and he said he invented some of them that only he and a few others knew. I was a cocky 17 year old kid into card magic decently but couldn't do a revolution cut, and for the first time ever someone was clearly on a whole other level in front of me. He was extremely humble as well, I remember he would be like " it's just a hobby", "i mean it's just cards" when I would be like how the fuck. I wanted to get to that level where I could do cardistry and be like, "yeah it's just cards just a hobby" while doing complicated flourishes I had no idea who the hell this guy was, so when he left, I googled his name and I found out he was friends with all these other OGs, I got so inspired, cardistry has been my main hobby for the past 3 years and I've also met one of my best friends from a card meetup. Also I did just smoke a joint and go down memory lane
This is what cardistry should be. Finesse and control. I don't care what insane move you got. If you can't finesse it, who cares. Tobias is the embodiment of finesse, flow, and absolute control. That was beautiful.
One of the many legends that have inspired me for the last 10 years. Incredible as always Tobias, really love your creativity. And this is a cinematic masterpiece...
That’s literally the Collection of Tobias Art, the progress of his ideas, and I enjoyed watching this in kind of a conclusion... Good Job! It’s not always about new moves but about the concept of a video: This video tells Tobias Story! Awesome!
You could make so many people (extra) happy by releasing some raw footage. I mean the pleasant sound of moving cards combined with your casual yet fluent performance is a recipe for satisfactory indulgence.
It's amazing how an idea that seemed to be taken to the highest level surprises you once again. I hope everything goes as well for you as it did for cardistry :)
Been watching this 4 times and I have a feeling that this video has something to say about current cardistry scene. If the moves were not scripted, say he just did what he did on each take. I think Anyone has a message.
@anyone i just posted my Running Kickfliping Version of Tobias Levins Phaced a flourish i been adding to and have multiple Variations of. But no one seems to care or the YT algorithms hates me😢
I was thinking in my head like why cardistry just gotta sticks with some new moves that are impressive with hip hop or banging beats, why really need this, just a moment, chillin' out, playing with cards. We feel cardistry, we don't stressed out, we love it.

to be fair, tobias is probably one of the only few that can make combo moves look this good

Cardistry is about vibing and that's it is.
More people should think like this!
I totally agree. Sometimes is good to see old moves that have been forgotten!
i will forever remember tobias' style of handling cards, a true artist that has pushed this artform to great heights
This is my favorite video. Not favorite cardistry video, favorite video on the entire internet.

This is video is like opening a new window in the cardistry scene, It is like jazz. Simply a masterpiece
At the time I didn’t like this video but looking back it was just something I wasn’t wise enough to appreciate
And with that Tobias has perpetuated himself in our minds forever.
This what cardistry should be become. Not just dupstep playing on background and moves everywhere. This more abstract, different and enjoyable.

@@redditmoderator8739 was it Noel Heath? Noel was into magic prior to his transition into cardistry.
@@redditmoderator8739 do you have Instagram account? I'd like to talk to you about cardistry as well as the person who inspired you years ago.
Cannot believe I didnt see this until now. Think its my favorite cardistry video ever. And 100 bonus points for sabbath.

A true masterpiece.
Tobias just mastered himself, all that control, connection between his own moves, he's at the perfect state anyone could dream of

This the sort of video you show to someone who doesn't know about Cardistry. This is the epitome of the art form.
There is a ‘coming home’ feeling that besieges all my wants. Cardistry that croons softly.
Truly mesmerizing. Tobias, you’re an inspiration for generations and generations of cardists to come ❤️
Don't ever stop! I want to see you turn 80 and still post a cardistry vid. I love this stuff!
