New York City’s Best Steakhouse is British!? | Hawksmoor NYC
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 чер 2024
- World’s Best Steaks ranks Hawksmoor the second best in the world above all of New York City’s iconic steakhouses. Today we’re putting that to the test. We’ll be trying their sirloin on the bone, roasted bone marrow, beef fat fries, creamed spinach, atlas carrots, sticky toffee pudding and peanut butter Louis!

Hawksmoor in Knightsbridge London is literally the best steak in UK!! I can't wait to try it in NYC
Let us know how they compare! We’re so curious if it’s different in the US vs the UK!
Great review and I’m looking forward to future reviews!
Thanks so much!
Recently found your channel! Y'alls videos are so good, high quality production, and super informative reviews. Keep it coming :)
Thanks so much! So glad you're enjoying them! Are there any restaurants you think we should try?
Agreed!! 🙂
Agree!!!!!!!
So this is on my radar, but I have yet to try it. I lived in England for a year, and never tried it there, either. As I love all things Negroni, that cocktail (well, both actually) sounds amazing! I'll definitely have to get there. And, Happy Birthday Will!
Let us know what you think of it if you get the chance to try it! I wish we had known about it when we were in London as well, we’ll have to go the next time we’re over there. The cocktails are fantastic and they actually had a few different Negronis on the menu. Thank you!
Awesome video!! Glad to see more of Will ◡̈
Lol thanks!! He's a little camera shy!
Micky D's fries back in the day were fried in beef tallow. Which made them the "Cat's Meow!" Take that to the bank!
Wow! That's amazing. It's unbelievable how similar these fries are to McDonald’s
Will, Happy B-day🎉🎉 Now that was a very nice meal! I've eaten at Hawksmoor in London some years ago & enjoyed it very much! They're very famous for the toffee dessert😅
Thank you! It was amazing, easily one of our favorite steakhouses yet. We’d love to try it in London as well. Haha yes, I’m grateful our waiter insisted we try it!
Great review! I was planning to visit Keens steakhouse when I'm in NYC next month but I might do Hawksmoor instead. Everything looked incredible!! & Happy birthday!!🎂
Thank you!! Keens vs. Hawksmoor is a really tough call. I think Keens is better for an old fashioned, historic New York experience. Hawksmoor doesn’t have that New York feel but it’s still beautiful and the food is fantastic. Both are amazing though!
I would still stick with Keenes😅
Best food review channel on UA-cam. No question
Thanks! Now we just need the subscribers to back it up!
Done
Thank you!
@@travelfuller The chemistry between you both and the articulation is off the charts. Just a matter of time before you guys blow up!
Thank you! We're going to try to keep posting twice a week and post a few different food tour style videos soon so hopefully something gains a little traction!
Delightful meal and venue!
It’s definitely one of our new favorites!
Nice video mate 🥃🇺🇸🏝️🌴🏄🏻♂️🏌🏽♂️
Thank you!
"I definitely couldn't eat this whole thing"
2 seconds later and shows an empty bowl lol
Haha we were wondering if someone would mention that!
Good info
Thanks!
Good video. Will looks like a slimmer Adam Sandler 😂
Haha I appreciate slimmer!
😂😂
I feel like that sirloin for $117 is a lot. My ribeye i just got from Wolfgangs looks as big if not bigger
It is, Hawksmoor is definitely not the place to go for a deal
Great video, Happy Birthday! I'd really like to know what the total bill is for all that great food, it puts everything in perspective.
Thanks!! It would’ve been about $275 if we had paid for the sticky toffee pudding. Definitely not cheap but pretty inline with most of the city’s steakhouses
@@travelfuller Thanks! By the way, I'd love to know what video equipment you use to make your videos, excellent resolution, and use of depth of field - very professional!
Thanks! These are all shot on the Sony a7iv and the Tamron 16-28 f/2.8
It’s funny. Me being British I have been eating at Hawksmoor over here for years but the best steak I have still had has been in the U.S.. Sparks, The Benjamin and SW at the Wynne Las Vegas my personal favourites.
Haha it's hard to say if this was the best steak we've ever had but it was definitely one of them. We just posted a video about Benjamin and we're planning on making one for Sparks and SW very soon!
Great!! Can’t wait to see it.
Hawksmoor in NY? The same as the UK owners? Do they also serve a full English breakfast?
Yes, it's part of the same group! They're opening another in Chicago as well. This one isn't open for breakfast but they do serve a full Sunday roast
Went there last year. The bar area was very lively. Wish there was a bit more room between tables along the banquette row like you had. Felt like I was at a cafeteria. Would sit in the bar next time. Food and drink were outstanding, though,.
We always get to restaurants right at opening so we can have our pick of table. Makes it much easier to film but also gives us a bit of a non-replicable experience. By the time we left there wasn't a single open table. Thanks for sharing!
Would have been interesting to see the rump steak, for those of us on a budget. Looked great though
Yes, definitely! We've heard mixed things about their rump steak but we'll have to go back and try it. We'll be posting a video on St. Anselm next week but their $34 hanger steak was unbelievably good
Great thumbnail. Came of the Adam Sandler, stayed for the meat.
Thanks! Came of the Adam Sandler??
@@travelfuller *for the Adam Sandler. Got that Billy Madison look
Happy Birthday:)
Thanks!
Dont forget the new Dublin venue. Reviews so far are mediocre mainly due to service and pricing, but that's Dublin all over.
Yes! That location looks beautiful. We’d love to try another one at some point
Hawksmoor is fabulous! I wonder if this Hawksmoor is connected to Vancouver's Hawksmoor?! I will have to check and ask! What a gorgeous restaurant and I love their integrity. Carbon neutral and donating to charities sells me immediately on this restaurant! I can't wait to visit on my next trip to Manhattan in 2 months. Gorgeous cocktails and wowza to the food! I'd go for a Manhattan or a Martini - very dry! Oh wow! I live bone marrow. I am about to switch to being vegetarian for health reasons but I have to wait until I visit this amazing restaurant!! Fabulous video! So well done! Cheers! 🙂
They have locations all over the US and UK, plus another in Dublin, but I'm not sure there are any in Canada yet. It looks like there is a similar restaurant in Vancouver called Hawksworth! But yes! It's amazing they are so dedicated to sustainability and service. Haha this would be a perfect send off to eating meat! If you visit, definitely let us know what you thought of it. Hopefully you have a great experience! Thanks so much!
"nice soft outer shell.."--Are you saying the crust is not topnotch?
Yeah that was a weird way of phrasing that... I think she was trying to say that the fat on the end added a soft texture, but the crust on our steak was perfect
Living in London Hawksmoor is very accessable, and I've been to three of their branches. They are very good, but there is so much better available. I'm sure everybody has their favourite, and Sagardi in Shoreditch, is not particularly mine, but it's Basque dairy cow steaks will take you to steak heaven! It's not a competition but the best this and the best that, is very reliant on personal opinion. When it comes to food I welcome a good recommendation, but let me be the judge of whether it's the best I've ever had...
Good to know! Do you have any restaurant recommendations where we would be able to try that? I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it on the menu here!
Dairy cow is a big trend here. The animals are normally 10+ and the meat is full of character. Many restaurants have discovered it, and a particularly good one in London is Fallow. When you come to London, GO to Fallow!
@@ara3592 Amazing thank you! We'll have to try it!
I thought hawksmoor was a fusion of American/British?
need a girl who look at me the same way like kristin.
21 dollars a cocktail is a joke
thats not a steak its charcoal, it should be so rare that some religions are still praying to it
Not everyone wants blue steak.
Where is nyurk
Oh... I get it...
nyurk means New york...
haha...I'm such an nidyet.
Do I detect a hint of valley girl accent 😂
Haha much worse... Jersey girl!
am not exactly sure what “British owned” has got to do with the calibre of the food on offer? Very little, I imagine. Brits famously do certain dishes but Steak (which in itself is boring stuff) is not one of them - especially overpriced and flavourless meat coming from corn-fed cattle is underwhelming
I think you answered your own question! Steak isn't necessarily something you'd expect to be excellent from a UK based restaurant, making it that much more significant we felt it held its own against it's famous New York counterparts. And it is certainly expensive but similarly priced to all of the steakhouses in the city
@@travelfuller hallo and thanks for yours. Yes but I would be remiss not to say - that a joint of beef in the UK and as is often the case in much of Europe, is properly grass-fed, which imparts a great deal more flavour without falling back on a high percentage of fat to lean ratio for flavour. I have lived in both countries. Alas, Americans are cultured in dining and food consumption by the dreaded cosmetic industry, which simply means it’s not uncommon for them to avert anything with a strong aroma and flavour. These steakhouses extol a glamorisation of excess, waste and grotesque eating habits
Too loud. Way too loud. Noticed it was empty ..well planned
Some others have commented this as well! We always go right at opening and often on weekdays so we can film but that means we’re not there for typical conditions
My experience there was mediocre. Maybe they should quit being woke and focus on dry aged beef that actually tastes dry aged
We've heard something similar from a few other people as well. I'm surprised because ours was excellent. We'll have to go back and see if we just got lucky this time
Why is that woke? You people are obsessed with that word. I bet you’re a tourist 😂
@@KrisKk08 Yes I am a tourist but not a stranger to the best steak houses in the world. My research indicates that they are very environmentally friendly and place a big emphasis on DEI. This my New Yorker friend = WOKE
@@brianG81So woke is essentially expressive intelligence, nice.😁
