- I was wrong on the annual subscription cost for the elite it is only $545 after the first two years and again the tool is still useable if you don't update it. You just don't keep the warranty on it of course but for that cheap its worth it compared to all the other cost of updates for scanners on the market.
A question I get all the time. “What scanner can do everything that I can buy?” And I always say it doesn’t exist and that holds true today.
That being said my goal when recommending scan tools to people is trying to recommend a brand that is affordable but gets the job done and keeping more money in your pocket for other tools or just to live of course.
The Topdon Phoenix elite definitely fits that bill. At $1600 right now online it’s a fantastic tool with bidirectional controls, topology, pre and post scan reporting which you can email directly and quickly from the tool itself.
Built in screen recorder. Graphing when watching live data which is huge as well. So many options with this tool.

good info on the topdon. most people ask why does one need more than 1 scantool. simply put, the more you know the more you need to see and see it your way. when one scan tool doesn't do or show something grab the next one. there is no "god" scan tool, things missing here and there with every scan tool on todays market. if you are the person that has to have the answers for the problem/issue they encounter, you will end up with a collection of scantools. that being said, i will say that the topdon phoenix lineup has very good coverage and is one of your best choiices. the topdon is a launch based scan tool and is designed as a "scan tool" not a android device for music, or every app.

bought the topdon elite in december...if will not no link with any cars now...sent it in and they told me nothing is wrong...sent it back and still will not link....topdon warranty is a no good....have a $1800.00 paper weight
