Which car do you own? A C8 or Camaro?
Own a 23 c8. But I sold my 2018 ss 1le to get it. Love the c8 but I do miss my Camaro. Which I could've kept both

Totally different geographic. The Camero is priced for younger guys. C8 for the Adults in the Room. There comes a time a stick doesn't work for U. Lights are a fad that probably gets turned off and its more of personal opinion type deal. Some people grew up wanting a Corvette not sure if anyone grew up with Camero as their dream car. Just my opinion as stated above

I grew up with the Camaro being my dream car. Owned three (2014, 2016, 2019) and a Supra. Now I have a C8 Z51 2023 and don't regret it. There's things I miss from the Camaro. Exhaust on the Camaro sounds nicer. & I do have the Performance exhaust.
I grew up wanting a 69 Camaro and a Stingray so it just depends on the person.
C8 become so unpractical that won't even fit my snowboard. My dream car was Camaro ss and C7 Z06.
I had a 2021 camaro ZL1 1LE and now I got a 2023 corvette 3LT convertible with carbon flash metallic paint and what I like more about the vette is it handles the curves a lil better. I like both of them. My camaro ZL1 1LE was $76k and the vette was $102k.

Great video! I have owned many Corvettes, but one thing different about the new C8 is very limited storage. I needed a car that had some storage so got a Camaro SS 1LE.
The camaro is a more practical car all around, you’re always going to be more at ease in it, even getting in and out of it is much easier, but the C8 has distinction .
Driving down the road the C8 gets the attention. As for handling and cornering, experience and skill can easily make up the difference at the track.
My Rapid Blue 2023 2SS 1LE is said to be to the dealership in two weeks. I have never been in a Camaro so I am excited. I did order the 6 speed manual. My dad has the 2021 C8 it is awesome. My dads 2023 ZL1 just got to the dealership and he is picking it up in 2 days. Can’t wait to drive that and see what it’s like. I would take any or all of them.

I had a 2016 2SS Camaro not a 1LE and now own a 2020 Z51 Corvette. My opinion is 1) I don’t think it’s fair comparing a 1LE to a Stingray. Maybe you should compare it to a Z06, and 2) you left out the main thing to compare between the two and that is the cool factor and in my opinion blows the Camaro out of the water. I appreciate the video. I’m not bashing it whatsoever, but you asked. Keep them coming!
In my opinion, only the Z06s are the true vette. GM doesn't even bother to make the C8 Stingray look good, even the ones with Z07 package.
Actually, you should compare the Zl1 Camaro to the base Stingray, because they are about the same price, but we all know why no one does that.
Unfortunately, the Camaro has the cylinder deactivation as well but only implemented on the auto’s
Mike, I'm waiting g for my allocation to open up so I can order my 2ss,1le to replace the one I mistakenly sold when I ordered my 2023 c8. My question, I notice no sunroof on yours. I'm considering one on this one, but om concerned about the weight added and raising center of gravity possibly. Do you hVe an opinion ion or any knowledge of this issue.? Thanks
Not questioning the choice of 6spd manual but want to ask you of your thoughts on the 10spd auto vs other non-DCT autos.
Where did you get the steering wheel protectors on the Camaro?
I am fortunate enough to have had a C5 - C6 - C7, (C8 anniversary in order) all new, however not everyone can afford the Corvette, and amazingly enough 🙂, not everyone wants one. I think your article had some interesting insight and I will look at the Camaro a little differently from now on. No, I will still keep my Corvette but I appreciate your thoughts.
Camaro - Has a small back seat but no good in snow (unless you buy snow tires)
Corvette - No back seat but drivable in snow.
I drive my LT1 with snow tires all winter buddy, in Minnesota... No issues

The camaro is on the alpha platform which is awesome the ats-v is on the same platform and it handles like a dream on the track! And the interior in the cadillac is nice Recaro seats suede inserts in the seats and suede heated steering wheel I love it and then it's a v-8 killer I sneak up on people often and surprise them looking at the tail lights after dem twin sisters get spooled up

I have owned both and can definitely agree with you I just prefer the corvette for accessibility. A lot more Camaro are on the road.

thank you for this review we are waiting to take deliver of my 2023 2 SS1LE , my 2019 grand sport was totaled after a dunk driver hit it almost head on we wet looking and the c-8 is a nice car the passenger seat ting area is small and the switch wall made it more claustrophobic for me and my wife and the rear luggage area get very warm so no chocolate in the suit case , you helped us feel we made a great decision thank you
You will like the Camaro I was going to buy a vette but having a baby made me change my mind… I will say I have traveled to CamaroFest a week long vacation with me and my significant and our 5yr old.. and the cargo space was heaven sent. Two luggage a couple duffle bags a cooler and an umbrella stroller and a car seat in the back… and got almost 30 miles per gallon on a V-8 SS.
both cars have cylinder deactivation but your camaro is a manual the manual cars arent fitted with cylinder deactivation, its a good feature more for hte camaro because more people daily camaros

If it comes with the runflats then no but once you change to non runflats it’s back to being awesome.. my SS had run flats and it was terrible in the rain… living in Florida it rains a lot. And I have had issues with hydroplaning.. but once I switched to Continental Extreme Contact Sport.. I’m back in business.
One of you're more informative videos. The Cameras are known for having poor rear visibility, does the Camaro come w/ a camera for visibility & do you have one? A new C8 does turn more heads than a Camaro though.
I own a 2023 zl1 camaro convertible with a 6 speed manual. I really don't see how you could go wrong with this one

I'm amazed... That the C8 doesn't corner as well (or better) then the Camaro!! I'll have to take your word on that one.
I've owned both and the 1le is a beast on the track.
If 1le was 200-300 lbs more lighter, I can’t imagine the handling. It handles like a true sports car already. I m thinking about going carbon fiber on my 22 2ss 1le manual and lighter wheels to shave some weight in the future.

Ever since looking at this video, I’ve been checking out a new Camaro and I’ve never done that before. I didn’t know you could get a 650 HP motor in the Camaro and a standard shift.

You are missing the point, the the Vette is a purpose-built car well the Camaro is a general use car in comparison.
I think your C8 would look better of you take off all the graphics on the side , a little too much going on , the red accents on the front and back are fine but waaaaay too much going on on the side I’m my opinion 🤷🏽♂️
No manual transmission in the C8 was a deal breaker for me. I too bought a 2SS 1LE.

I ordered a ss1le and drove both the c8 z51 3lt and ss1le on track, Camaro is indeed more capable of holding momentum, but that is more contributed by 285 or 315 front tires. Whereas c8 has only 245 but is not far off. Giving c8 a 285, I am sure the advantage will flip
Shoulda, woulda, coulda. The Vette isn't carrying 54% of its weight over the frontend of the car. Generally mid-engine cars don't run as much front rubber as a front engine car, and there are performance reasons for this. I doubt GM spec'd 245's on the front of a C8 because they were trying to budget on their new flagship/halo car. During their engineering of the C8 I'm sure they tested different tire setups to come up with the best all around setup to meet the goals they had for the cars. After running both I would argue that a GY SC3 has a slight dry performance edge over a Michelin PS4S when it's new and fresh, but that's about it. The Michelins are a better all around performance tire. You could also argue that the slight laptime edge that a C8 usually holds over the SS 1LE can be contributed to the LT2 having a 40 HP advantage with noticeably better topend performance than a LT1.

Yes they are both Chevys and both are sports cars. However Camaro is really dated in its looks and interior overall is not the same as vette. I do agree that corvette can use some ambient lighting to bring it up a notch.

Mike, I have had 2 Z28s and 3 Corvettes. Every point you made is valid and I agree with you 100%. I will just mention a few. The lighting in the Corvette is not as good as in the Camaro. You need the subtle lighting that was mentioned to help you find things without having to turn on bright interior lights. The up/down buttons on the steering wheel of the Corvette are crappy. The two previous things I mentioned are “attention to detail” items that were done correctly in the Camaro. And there are others, such as the soft close frunk that is coming, but should have been there from the start. The last thing I will mention is the (lack of) room in the C8 Corvette. The Camaro doesn’t have much, but does have some. When I have been driving my C7Z and get into my C8, I am constantly looking for a place to store things that I can quickly access when I have my wife with me. Like a gym bag or a small cooler for a day trip. At least with my C7 or with a Camaro it is an easy reach into the back without having to stop and get out. On a side note, that 455 HP can quickly and very inexpensively get very close to ZL1 numbers (which would exceed Stingray numbers) with heads, cam, tune, etc. and still be NA. It’s alcantera, not suede. Alcantera is more durable than suede. By the way, will look like crap after a few years, when your greasy hands stain it. Leather is better for longevity.

Hi, is that a ZL1 1LE? Oh no, never mind, I see now it's a Fugazi Camaro. That's when they put overpriced plastic parts on their car to look like an imposter. The Camaro may as well be a farm tractor sitting next to the C8. Just my opinion. Door sill? Interior lighting? C'mon man. Seriously though, if you think the Camaro handles better than the C8, you need some Ron Fellows classes to learn how to drive that Corvette. The C8 does EVERYTHING better!! I remembered you lowered your car and changed the wheels and tires. Sounds like you may have screwed up the engineered geometry of the suspension. But hey, it looks good to you and that's all that matters. Blame GM..........LOL
Those two cars as they sit will probably turn near identical lap times. Of course the Camaro is about half the price of the C8, so it will have a cheaper interior. But the chassis, gearbox, engine, suspension, and brakes on the Camaro are no joke. Better than a C7 in nearly every way.
