Ladies and gentlemen, today I will talk about my build regrets on my 2023 C8 Corvette, and I'll let you know if I have any regrets about all my modifications.

What would you do differently on your C8 build?
No graphics, and I would not lower it changing the ride quality, possibly altering the safety/performance and voiding the warranty. You said you don't care what viewers of your channel think about your changes; then why did you ask? (I also own a 2023 C8) Does your family enjoy riding with you after you lowered your vehicle? I'm pretty sure the GM engineers designed the vehicle to perform at its best using the wheel size and stance that It came with for a reason. The after market will be happy to sell you anything even if it voids your warranty, play at your own risk...
I retired from GM after 38 years. Most of that time was in the field for Chevrolet. Based off what I know, If you take your C8 in to a Chevy dealer for any warranty, the fact you lowered the car could put your warranty at risk. As a Corvette enthusiast myself (I also own a 2023) I just wanted you to be informed. Nice car by the way. Cheers!!!

To each their own... A light colored interior will reflect light and create the illusion of a large area. However the trade off is the constant battle against dirt and dust.

Hi Mike. like your show a lot. Lots of good info. I can’t remember, your c-8 is a 2023? Correct? You can purchase the 70 year door logos. I got my c-8 ppf’ed, my vehicle is a 70 year c-8. If you like the 70 year white pearl look, wrap it black only the roof, the rear view mirrors and maybe the wing. Buy the $995 gray stripes that go from head to tail on the vehicle. It will look exactly like the 70 year anniversary from the outside!
I will leave my vehicle completely original as I purchased, but if I had to do any changes, I would install the diffuser and brake system as your vehicle.

Lower ride and larger wheels fill up the space and it stands out!
I to sometimes regret not getting the pearl white 70th but I just had to have Red Mist!

Hey Mike...last I heard gm was haulting zo6 orders until September...shockingly on Friday, my dealer called me and said gm was opening the z06 build up for a few more cars and that they had an allocation for me!! I put my order in, it was accepted and I have an order confirmation number for my build...was wondering if you new gm decided to build a few more z06 s?? I am past thrilled...it is still going to be a 2023..thx
Exactly the confirmation I needed. I have mag-ride in my 5th Gen ZL1 and was recently planning to lower it. You’ve confirmed for me that mag-ride will compensate for harsher ride that comes with lower springs.

Interesting! I just found a 2020 3LT with only 5K miles, GT2 seats with sueded inserts, sueded steering wheel and center console. I had never seen it before on any of the cars I had previously shopped, so I snapped it up! The delivery truck will be at my house on Wednesday...cant wait!
Also, I cant find info about the springs that you used to lower the car. Did I miss something?

I got an idea for your channel. You should get a single cab, 2 wheel drive Ford F150 , with an 5.0 and have the new supercharger put on it that ford offer now. Don't block me because I mention a Ford. Lol

Does the rear window between the headrest area (visible at 11:14) lower all the way down flush with the back deck? Or is it still 3" tall at lowest setting?
Still 3” tall it won’t go any lower.

Non z51 C8s do not generate any brake dust so not sure why you upgraded.
Actually mine did a little, but that’s not really why I upgraded. I did it for looks. They make this car look much more exotic. 😊

First regret. That wrap job.
Gorgeous car, but you should have upgraded the suspension. A kw v3 or other Bilstein set up is already available, and it does nothing but compliments the cars chassis handling characteristics on street or track. This is a major mistake in the Corvette community not actually realizing that you can go far above Ferrari handling for relatively cheap. Just my opinion.
Agree, but he purposely didn’t get the z51 package and the KW struts are close to $5k, a lot of money unless you are going to

Would you modify the special edition like you have on yours? If not, then I would 100% take your car vs the 70th anniversary edition. Suede on steering wheel and on center console is cool but you will probably regret it down the line when your natural oils from your hands will mess it up.
No, I would have done a different look if it were the true Pearl white 70th. I have suede in my Camaro and love it.
Just needs a Faht Rippa exhaust.

Hey Mike, great video. The only question I have is have you heard if that Convertible top mod void the warranty in anyway🤔?
It’s plug and play, you could easily remove the module and nobody would know if an issue came up.

I think the car is beautiful. The only thing I agree with you on is the Mag ride. The suede on the steering wheel looks and is worn after time, also the competition seats are not as comfortable as the G2 seats and are more difficult to get out of for an older rider. Great looking car though. Kinda like building a house . You think you thought of everything until it done.

Nice video! Your car is beautiful! I went in to order an Arctic White car for my allocation and the dealer had a 70th Anniversary Edition sitting outside. It was so beautiful that I changed my mind and ordered the Pearl White. It is on the truck on it's way to the dealer right now. I am so excited!!!
This c8 stingray looks great, the wheels are so important part of the look, the stock ones look cheap since the rim dish has no depth in the front rims from the factory

I just purchased a 23 70th convert Z51 love the car, the microfiber steering wheel is a lot of stress to keep clean. I also own an 18 V3 with the same microfiber steering wheel and you have to wash your hands 2-3 times after lunch and dinner to keep oils from transferring to the steering wheel. I just finished my first road trip and no beef jerky or snacks in my new Vette!
Sound advice Mike for those that have yet to spec out their C8. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. If that should happen though, you'll be the first one I'll call. Save the Wave 👋

Great points, Mike. I wonder if they will offer a suede dash option in another package for the C8, I guess only time will tell! Your car still looks killer though, the graphic scheme really set it off. Here's to hoping that 24 will bring the BOS family lots more Stingrays,Erays, and Z06s!

The only thing about the suede stirring wheel I hear people say that you have to wear driving gloves because the oil from your hands messes the suede up on the steering wheel

I 100% agree with regretting not going 70th Anniversary Edition! That is my biggest regret on my 2023 C8 purchase. Hindsight is 20/20 - I guess, but I still get frustrated every time I see the 70th!
Yep, it sure is frustrating sometimes, but just remember, we are blessed to be driving an amazing C8 whether it’s a 70th or not. 😊

If your going to lower a c8 vette get the 1L5 amd put kw v3 or v4 coilovers it will drive and handle amazingly better.
springs is the cheap way to go and it comprimises the handling and drive quality.
What's up Mike!! Are you sure you regret not getting the suede steering wheel? You don't think it would get matted down after extended usage? You wouldn't be able to avoid that. Unless you know of a trick to retain that suede quality, the leather steering wheel won't show wear and tear (as quick as suede). Thanks for being honest about your regrets though, a lot of people wouldn't be brave enough to publicly admit it.
Hey Tony, thanks for your feedback. I love the suede steering wheel and shifter in my Camaro. I make sure that my hands are always clean when I drive it and I don’t drive them enough to worry about the suede messing up very fast. I’ve driven plenty of older suede cars though and I still like it when it’s not like new. I’ll be cleaning the suede pretty often too, so hopefully it won’t matte down at all. No problem, you know I’m always honest with you guys. 🙌😊
I disagree with most of your regret. Your car looks amazing. Much prefer the leather vs suede inside
Where did you get the exterior color design? Are those vinyl decals. Did you custom design the seat color. Never seen anything like it. Awesome!
That car took allot of Merchandise to buy. If you drive on the street mag ride is not needed but then you thought you could due a better job at re-engineering the suspension. The ride was designed to work you just wanted to look good. I like your paint but you knew the ride would be less then the original design. The standard ride untampered rides to good to be a sports car that in base form has a top speed of 194 mph!

My original build for my Z06 was a 3LZ Coup Hypersonic Grey with two tone red/black seats. After listening to your Octane Hour I asked my dealer at Les Stanford if there was a restriction on the Anniversary Edition. He said we can order that no problem, so I changed my build to a Anniversary Edition HTC in Carbon Flash and am glad I did. It looks badass. Just got done with full Xpel and window tint plus ceramic coated interior and wheels. My scrape armor grill guards go on next before I drive it any distance next week. Only 28 mi on it now and It's killing me not to drive it till I get it all done.

Absolutely love my 70th…would not change anything on my order. Stealth interior, carbon fiber interior trims, black exhaust tips, and a few others to tie it all together.
Sounds like a winning combo.
As a zl1 owner 40k miles and a c8 owner , suede is a terrible interior option for anything component.
Thanks for the video and the good information. You did make me feel better about my car that is on order. It is a Pearl White 70th Anniversary Z51 with Mag Ride and lift. (G2 seats) It just went to 3300 status and should be built the week of July 17th. I'm really excited and looking forward to the Museum Delivery! My next decision will be what level of paint protection/PPF I choose. Thanks again for all your videos.
On a new c8 you can get by with stage one paint correction which is basically clay bar and polish then coat it up. If you do ppf just make sure you do your homework and see cars they have done and make sure they meet your standards. You are going to love your new c8!

I do not agree with your regrets. If this was your first C8 I might understand but you are Brink and you should have know all this as much time as you spend at Corvette World and making content. (Come on man).

Really? Have you ever even driven one? I’ve driven both, and while the Z06 is better, it certainly didn’t make me regret owning a Stingray. These C8’s are amazing cars whether they are Z06’s or not.

@@BrinkofSpeed Yes I've driven both and in (my opinion) there was no comparison. The Z06 is a completely different animal. It's an absolute beast. When I smash the pedal, the car goes from mild to insanely violent.
