"We are so excited to share 'Acoustipex' with you all; it's a moody acoustic take on the title track from Apex and we hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it! It's got a bit of a country vibe, but we added some symphonic elements as well to stay true to the synth theme of the record.
The music video was a challenge because we all live in different cities now, but we had a great time coming up with a concept we think you might appreciate. For those of you that have seen our acoustic version of 'Apex' on UA-cam from CTV, you will understand where our inspiration came from lol ;) Make sure to get your pre-orders for the EP in now before they're all gone, and let us know what you think!"

It is funny to see his progression. A few years ago they played Apex acoustic on a Canadian news show (video somewhere on the youtube). All he could do was play the chimes... at the last 10 seconds of the song. And he ROCKED IT!

Thought the same thing but I reserve my judgment. Will go listen on my main system to see if it's the mix or the crappy YT sound. Otherwise it's a solid performance, especially by Scott 🙂 Edit: Just listened on my main system with big tower speakers and with good headphones. Bass almost nonexistent. Nick should have a discussion with whoever mixed this. But don't get me wrong, a day with new UTA music is a good day.

Is it just me or does her voice sound different that on Apex and Abyss? Not referring to her singing in falsetto, but it seems to have a different tone to it, not complaining. Maybe the stylistic choice she made for the new arrangement.

being a concert percussionist, and band director, I would like to say that Scott nailed the role of the "mark tree guy"...lots of waiting, and counting space. Well done!! Another UTA classic!!
I did not expect this to be a totally new recording. I just figured the original vocals would be backed by an acoustic composition. This is phenomenal!!

it's ironic how on that one acoustic apex live performance scott only played the chimes only one time specifically at the end but in this one he literally played every single instrument known to mankind 😂

I dont like power metal in general but uta will always belong to my fav bands. And the fact that this song is now available as acoustic makes me so happy. It add A LOT to this mythical fantasy atmosphere which I love!

I always had the fear that if I learn multiple instruments Ill end up mastering none of them but Scott clearly managed to reach a wide range while still being very skilled and technical with at least his main instrument and also pretty good with the rest which is inspiring.

The sheer beauty of Brittney’s vocal approach for this version- I don’t think I’ve ever heard her sing so gently, quiet and restrained before. It has such a sweet, beautiful quality, adding yet another amazing layer to an already astonishing voice! Well done, as always!
